In 1880 Keokuk County, Iowa, Chester Allison is farming 44, with Rebecca 44, Stephen M. 21, Alva 18, Lucien 15, all born in Ohio, George 13 in Illinois, and Aredne A. 9 born in Iowa.

Chester 1836-1918 is buried in Keokuk County # 92555274, with Rebecca (Perry) Allison 1835-1927 # 92555275.
In 1880 Poweshiek County, Iowa, T. J. White is farming 29, with Harriett 20, Lorena 4, and Louella 2.

In 1885 Poweshiek County, Iowa, Thomas J. White is 34, a merchant, with Hattie E. 24, both born in Pennsylvania. Lorena is 9, Luella L. 7, and William C> newborn.
Thomas J. White, 48, born in Pennsylvania to Perry G. White and Charlotte McClatchey, married Alice Davidson on Nov 18, 1892 in Mahaska County.

(Lorena M. (White) Stebbins 1876-1951 is buried in Linn County, Iowa # 152128886, with Calvin C. Stebbins 1872-1909._

December 1898 "G. W. Allison, who has a farm near Vernon, arrived Sunday night from Grinnel, Iowa with a car of immigrant goods. His family came a few days later. Mr. Allison is a brother of L. C. Allison, who lived near Vernon for several years."

January 1899 Vernon items "G. W. Allison, who lately moved here from Iowa, had the misfortune to lose one of his heavy work horses the evening of the 18th, on the way home from Wray. Cause unknown.
Wm. Cox had a horse die, similiar to the one that Mr. Allison lost. The symptoms in both cases were the same — were sick only a short time.
This is a bad time of year to lose work animals."

July 1899 "On Wednesday evening some eighteen couple called on Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allison for a house-warming. They took freezers, ice, cakes, etc. All kinds of amusements were indulged in and they stayed until Thursday. There were nineteen fiddlers and a few violinists present."

August 1899
"Mrs. C. Allison and daughter, Mrs. Rudolph Draegert, of Nassau, Iowa, arrived Thursday for a visit with G. W. Allison and family of Vernon. Mr. Draegert stopped off at Omaha, but will arrive in a few days. Mrs. Draegert will be remembered as being in Vernon in 95-96, during which time she taught a term of school in the Pyle district."
"Mrs. C. Allison and Mr. and Mrs. R. Draegert who have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allison near Vernon for the past month, departed for their home at Nassau, Iowa, Monday evening. Mr. Draegert has been under the weather ever since his arrival here and consequently did not see as much of the country as he could wish."


In 1900 Glendale precinct, George is farming, born May 1867 in Illinois, married four years to Luealla A. Dec 1877 Iowa. Fern July 1896 in Iowa, and Thomas E. Nov 1899 in Colorado.

1901

November 1902 "Mr. Allison of Nassau, Iowa, father of G. W. Allison and Mrs. Joe Wingfield is visiting."

January 1906 "Mr. and Mrs. White, of Barnes City, Iowa, are visiting their daughter, Mrs. G. W. Allison, near Vernon. They report sixteen inches of snow in southeastern Iowa."

January 29, 1909 "Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allison's baby daughter died Sunday after a short illness and was buried Tuesday in the Vernon cemetery."

August 1909 "Mr. and Mrs. Dregart and children returned to their Iowa home Monday after a few weeks visit with her brother and sister, George Allison and Mrs. Joe Wingfield."

In 1910 Yuma County, George W. is farming, 42, with Luella 32 born in Iowa. Fern L. 13 was born in IOwa, Thomas 10, DOrothy M. 8, Martha 4, and Jessie newborn all in COlorado.

July 1912 "The Misses Ada and Loraine Allison arrived from Gibson, Iowa, Monday for a visit with their uncle, George Allison of near Vernon. They are old acquaintances of the B. E. Hollingsworths the two families having resided in neighboring towns in Iowa."

May 1913 "Harry Allison, nephew of George Allison of Vernon precinct who is visiting relatives in this county, was in Wray over Tuesday night, truest of the B. E. Hollingsworth family."

March 1916
George Allison, south of town is putting up a fine big barn which will be a splendid ornament to his fine place. When up and treated to a good coat of paint it will be one of the best in the country."

In 1920 George and Luella, still farming, have Margie 14, Jessie 9, William G. 7, Stephen 5, and Maxine 2. Luella's brother Thomas H. White 26 born in Iowa is with them.

May 1922 "Mrs. Fern Wheatly is making a visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Allison."

1922 "Mrs. Geo. Allison's father, Mr. White, left for Illinois the first of the week."

In 1930 Vernon precinct, still farming, George is 62, Luella 52, Marjorie 24 is teaching school, William G. 17, Steven R. 15, and Lena M. 12. Luella's father Thomas J. White 80 is widowed, born in Pennsylvania.


In 1940, George is 73, no occupation, with Luella 63. William 27, single, and Stephen R. divorced are with them.
So is Marjorie, 34, married to Kelsey Hardwick 30 born in Tennessee and their daughter Ann4 born in Iowa.
Jesse Stuteville, daughter, is widowed, 30, with Geraldine 8, Betty 6 both born in Colorado and James 3 born in Idaho.
Daughter Maurine Stone 22, also widowed.

George W. Allison 1867-1949 is buried in Vernon # 80201756, with Luella Alberteen (White) Allison 1877-1942 # 80203343.

FERN

Fern graduated from Yuma County High School in April 1916.

Ray A. Wheatly and Miss Ferne L. ALlison, both of Vernon, married there on June 20, 1921, by Chas E. Harris, minister. Witnesses were George Allison and Mrs. C.E. Harris.

May 1922 "Mrs. Fern Wheatly is making a visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Allison."

In 1940 Yuma County, Roy is 48, born in Kansas, Fern 44 in Iowa, Ethyle 18, Dwight G. 15, Warren D. 13, Harold 11, Mary Lou 9, Carol 7, and Milda 5, all kids born in Colorado.

Fern is buried in Vernon 1896-1988 # 79915164, with Roy 1891-1965 # 79915254. January 16, 1988 Independence, Missouri

Warren Wheatley, 90, Warrensburg, Mo, passed away March 8, 2017. A memorial service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Chilhowee Branch of Jesus Christ Chilhowee, Missouri.
Mr. Wheatley was born January 19, 1927 in Vernon, Colorado. He is survived by his wife Virginia, a brother Harold Wheatley, sisters Carol Gauld and Milda Edson, sons; Ken, Darrel and Brent Wheatley, daughters; Luanne Hanford, Beth Martens, Kris Neil and Jean Neilson.

"Maxine Shipley Wheatley, age 77 of Independence, MO, formerly of Grand Junction, CO, passed away February 9, 2008 after a short illness. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at The Gathering Place, 2820 S. 291 Hwy. Outer Road, Independence, MO. Cremation with interment will be scheduled at a later date at Grant City (MO) Cemetery.
Maxine was born in Isadora, MO on March 2, 1930 to Ivor Leroy and Edna Tolson Barker Shipley. She was the youngest of six children. After working for several years as a Lab Technician in various hospitals, Maxine married G. Dwight Wheatley on September 1, 1963. They made their home in Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Maxine is survived by four children: Joyce Lynn Wheatley, Grand Junction, CO; Christina Gayle Wheatley, Independence, MO; Dwight Earl Wheatley and family, Winton, CA; Cynthia Lea Wheatley and family, Parachute, CO; brother Jay Shipley and wife Ilene, Grant City, MO; sister Leota Batt and husband Marvin, Glendora, CA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law including Warren and Virginia Wheatley; Harold and Shirley Wheatley, all of Warrensburg, MO; Mary Lou and Klydel Miller, Independence, MO; Carol and Paul Sawyer, Lee's Summit, MO; Milda and Robert Edson, Branson, MO; and a number of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maxine, along with daughter Chris, moved to Independence, MO in May of 2007 where they made their home. Maxine was a member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Independence. She was baptized into the church in 1951. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends."

MARJORIE

J. Kelsey Hardwick 1909-1993 is buried in Vernon # 47647009, with Marjorie L. (Allison) Hardwick 1905-1996 # 47647060.

Ann Hardwick married Alfred E. Brophy in Yuma County on September 11, 1956.

In 1990, Alfred and Ann (Hardwick) Brophy of Colorado Springs attended the Brophy family St. Patrick's Day celebration in Eckley.
They visited Yuma County in 2003.

JESSIE

Gerald Stuteville, 20, and Jessie Allison, 19, married at Vernon on May 18, 1929.

In 1930 Yuma County, Gerald Stuteville is 21, Jessie I. 20.

Oral Gerald Stuteville 1908-1938 is buried in Vernon # 79927200.

In 1940 with parents, Jesse Stuteville is widowed, 30, with Geraldine 8, Betty 6 both born in Colorado and James 3 born in Idaho.
Jessie Iola Cox, born March 8, 1910 in Vernon, died in Mason County, Washington May 15, 2007, buried there # 47505879, with Charles D. Cox 1913-1968.

James M. Stuteville was born March 10, 1937 at Twin Falls, Idaho. He was a postal clerk in Olympia, Washington, marrying Doris Anne BUrson, born April 3, 1939 in Port Angeles, Washington, marrying in Thurston County, Washington August 21, 1979.
They divorced in Thurston County on September 12, 1980.

Shirley Geraldine Stuteville Waddell, born at Vernon, Colorado, married William G. Waddell on July 5, 1950, in Mason County, Washington. William, a mechanic in Wytheville, Virginia, divorced her for desertion in Wythe County in 1955.

WILLIAM
William is buried in Vernon 1912-1990.

STEPHEN

Stephen is buried in Vernon 1914-2002.

LENA MAURINE

L. Maxine Merry, 94, Lincoln, Nebraska passed away peacefully from this life Saturday, October 15, 2011. L. was born in Vernon, Colorado, on July 19, 1917, to George and Luella (White) Allison. She received her education in Vernon, Colorado and acquired a teaching certificate in Greeley, Colorado. She married Leonard Merry on September 23, 1944 in Wray, Colorado. Maxine was a past Noble Grand of VASHTI at the Rebekah Lodge in Columbus, Nebraska.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Leonard of Lincoln; daughter, Phyllis Mostrom and husband Jon of Lincoln; son, Thomas Merry and wife Sandy of Malcolm; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her three brother, five sisters, and son James Lee.
