John D. and Lola (White) Haun, Wray
John might be the "Janus Haan" in 1870 Marion County, Iowa, son of Jeunis de Haan 40 and Syndeje 26, both born in the Netherlands. Heitdge is 6, Jacob 4, Maria 2, and Elizabeth two months.

In 1880 Marion County, "Tunis" is 50, Eliza 37, both born in the Netherlands. John Dehaan is 17, Alice 16, Mary 12, Elizabeth 10, Matthew 7, Lawrence 5, "Dringmon" 2, and Jacob 13 ?, all born in Iowa.

Per one tree, Katalina Lyntje DeJong Dehaan died in 1882.

In 1900 Marion County, "Tunis" born January 1830 is widowed, with daughter Mary March 1869 and son Dingman July 1878.

Teunis De Haan's will was filed August 14, 1906, bequeathing forty acres of land to grandson Teunis De Haan "the son of my son Adrianus De Haan and his wife Johanna De Haan"
He bequesathed to son Flois the sixy acres of land he had recently inheretied from his son Mathew. He gave land to son Dingeman and daughter May land.
He gave to his son Adrianus some land in the city of Pella.
He gave to grand-daughter Lynteje or Lena, daughter of his daughter Heiltje and Jan or John Van Vark her husband five hundred dollars.
He gave to his daughter Heiltje and daughter Elizabeth De Haan "lizzie" the rest of his estate.

Daughter "DeHaan, Mary born 31 Mar. 1867 in Iowa died 13 Nov. 1926 in Marion County, mother De Jong"

Elizabeth De Haan, 34, daughter of "Tennis De Haan" and "Lintze DeJong", married Wm. H. Van Steenis on January 19, 1906 in Marion County.
"Mrs. Elizabeth Van Steenis, daughter of Tunis De Haan and Lena De Jong, was born March 10, 1870, at Pella, Iowa and passed away this life at her home December 16, 1956, after several years of confining illness. She was united in marriage to W. M. Van Steenis and lived her entire life in and around the Pella vicinity.
Surviving her passing are her husband and one brother, Floris De Haan of Pella. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers ard two sisters.
Mrs. Van Stevenis was a member of the Pella Second Chr. Ref. Church.
Funeral service were held at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 1:30 p.m., Rev. L.S. Van Laar officiating. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery"

"Hyltje" J. De Haan and Tennis Verros' daughter Antoinette Verros, age 29, married Marinus W. Huyser on March 9, 1911 in Marion County.
August 1912 "Miss Josie White of Culbertson, Nebraska, is visiting her sister, Mrs. John Haun and family."

Rina Davis, 19, daughter of Wm. and Cynthia Davis, married John "Hom" , 19, born in Fremont County, Iowa to John and Olive "Hom" on August 3, 1883 in Red Cloud, Nebraska.

William Davis, born in Tennessee, and Cynthia born in Indiana, both 23, are in Appanoose County, Iowa in 1860. Mary is 4, George 2, and newborn Sarah all born in Iowa.

William 33 and Cynthia 23? were in Fremont County, Iowa in 1870, with Mary 14, George 12, Lorena 7, and John 4.

They were in Smith County, Kansas in 1880, William born in Tennessee and Cynthia born in Indiana, both 43, George W. 22 born in Iowa, Rena A. 18 born in Missouri, John C. 13 in Missouri, and Frankie 7 born in Iowa.
(Mary possibly married James H. Hull, and they're in Guide Rock Nebraska in 1880 - James 42 born in New York, Mary 24, and Clara E. eleven months. In 1885 Guide Rock, James is 42, Mary 31, Clara E 6, and Cora E. 3.
In 1900 Ocala, Florida, John is widowed, born May 1837 in New York, with Cora Aug 1881, Carrie April 1886, Martin January 1888, and Carrie January 1891, all four born in Nebraska.
James and Clara, who married Walter Mead, were in Ocala Florida in 1910.)

W.W. Davis dying 1893 is buried in Jewell County, Kansas # 41643642.
So is Cynthia D.Davis dying 1897 # 41643637.

In 1895 Jewell County, Kansas, J.D. Haun born in Iowa, Rena in Missouri, both 31, have Cora 8 and Claud 1 both born in Kansas.

In 1900 Decatur County, Kansas, John D. Haun is farming, born December 1863 in Iowa, married 17 years to Rena Dec 1863 Iowa. Cora Nov 1886, Claud Sept 1893 and Ida Sept 1898 were born in Kansas.

Lena Haun age 34, Married, died of Heart disease at Oberlin, KS September 17, 1900, reported by W. B. Mead MD of Oberlin on September 26, 1900.

Lola F. White and John D. Haun married in Oberlin, Decatur County on September 14, 1901.
J.D. Haun is in Decatur County, Kansas in 1905, 41, with Lola 24, Claud 11, Ida 2, and Denzil 2.

In 1910 Yuma County, John D. Haun is farming, 46, born in Iowa (he had married Rena Davis in Nebraska, and was with her in Kansas in 1900). John and Lola have been married eight years, with Claude E. 16 and Ida M. 10 born in Kansas. John D. is 7, William D. 4, both in Knasas. They're next to Frank Haun 50 born in Missouri with Lilly 46 and three kids.
July 1, 1910 "Born to John Haun and wife a boy, Wednesday, June 15. They reside north of town."

March 1913 " Miss Jessie White came up from Culbertson, Nebraska, on last Saturday. She will visit in the home of her uncle J. D. Haun, for an indefinite length of time."

March 1913 "Claud Haun and Miss Lizzie Bell were married at the county Judge's office on last Saturday afternoon. They both live north of town and will make their home there."

November 1913 "Mrs. W. H. Whyte returned to her home in Culbertson, Nebraska, Tuesday afternoon after having spent a week with her daughter, Mrs. John Haun and family north of town."

John proved up 320 acres in section 29, 3N 43W in 1917.

November 1917 "Mr. and Mrs. John Haun, and the latter's sister, Mrs. Ray Taylor, and little son Marvin, returned Sunday from Oberlin, Kansas, where they had gone a week previous for a visit with another sister living there. The Haun and Taylor families reside several miles north of Wray."

Willie Taylor proved up 320 acres in sections 7, 17, and 18 in 1919, and stock-claimed an additional 80 acres in section 7 and 17 in 1920.

His witnesses in 1918 were Stephen D. Taylor, Harry Bates, John D. Haun, and Virgil G. Bell, all of Wray.

Lola F. Haun 1880-1936 is buried in Wray # 30698567, with John D. dying in 1950 # 81625869.

Father of Mrs. Tim (Beverly) Dhooge, Mrs. Dennis (Alia) Lloyd, Mrs. Harvey (Gladys) Buxman, and Mrs. Andre (Hazel) Tessier all of Greeley, Mrs. Elbert (Ruby) Cogburn of La Salle, Mrs. Rhiney (Carol) Snyder of Denver, Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Caciola and Mrs. James (Lyda) Barriault both of Lake Tahoe, California, Rev. A. I. Haun of Riverside, California, and Don Haun of San Bruno, California. Brother of Mrs. Cora Herr of Yuba City, California, Half-brother of Dallas and Marsellus Haun both of Wray, Colorado and LeRoy Haun.
Services 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Macy Allnutt Drawing Room. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. "

Elizabeth's brother Fred Bell died December 1972 "Funeral services for Fred 0. Bell of Greeley will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Howe Chapel in Longmont. Interment will be :n Mountainview Cemetery at Longmont. Bell died Tuesday at Longmont. He had lived in the Boulder-Longmont area for years before coming to Greeley three years ago. He was 82. He was born in Harrison County. Mo., Dec. 23, 1889. He was a m e m b e r of Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 9 and Ivy Rebekah Lodge No. 51. and was a past noble grand of Boulder Lodge. IOOF. Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Mable Morgan Bell of Boulder: a son. George R. Bell of North Platte. Neb., a daughter. Mrs. Ruby Chamberlain of Longmont: three grandsons, one granddaughter, and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother. Gabriel R. Bell ol Kersey, and four sisters. Mrs. Ida Doty and Mrs. Pearl McCormick. both of Greeley: Mrs. Elizabeth Haun of Wray and Mrs. Josie Osmus of Kersey"

July 5, 1991 Reno, Nevada "Donald Roy Haun, 60, died Tuesday at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. A native of Greeley, Colo., he was born July 11, 1930, and had been a Carson City resident since March 1991, coming from Casper, Wyo., and the Bay area. Haun was a carpenter and a member of the Good Sam Club. He was preceded in death by a brother, Claude E. Jr., and sisters, Violet Haun and Carol Snyder. Surviving are his widow, Beverly, and a sister, Lyda Barriault, both of Carson City; mother, Elizabeth Haun, and sisters, Beverly Dhooge, Ruby Cogburn, Alta Lloyd, Hazel Tessier, and Gladys Buxman, all of Greeley; sons, David and Allen, both of Casper, and Ronald of Palm Springs, Calif.; brother, Alvin Haun of Altadena, Calif.; sister, Ethel"


"Beverly Dhooge, dying December 31, 2009, was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Greeley to Claude E. and Elizabeth W. (Bell) Haun. On Jan. 11, 1965, she married Timothy Dhooge in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Beverly was co-owner of Greeley Drywall for more than 35 years. She was a selfless woman who loved her family dearly. Beverly enjoyed garage sales, baking, cooking and fishing with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy Dhooge of Greeley; two daughters, Kim Bush (Charles) of Evans and Sophia Capron (Kristopher Martino) of Henderson, Nev.; two sisters, Gladys Buxman and Alta Lloyd of Greeley; brother, Alvin Haun (Margie) of California; three grandchildren, Amber Holguin (Billy), Anna Bush and Ashley Bush of Greeley; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her son, Gordon Capron.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Monday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.

"Ruby J. Cogburn was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Greeley to Claude and Elizabeth (Bell) Haun.
She married Harley E. Ferris who preceded her in death.
She later married Elbert 'Butch' Cogburn on June 24, 1967, in Greeley.
Mrs. Cogburn lived in the Greeley area for most of her life. She attended Greeley schools and later in her adult life she completed her G.E.D. at the same time as her daughter Kay. She placed in the top 10 in the nation in English that year for those completing their G.E.D. After earning her G.E.D., she obtained her real estate license.
The most important thing in Ruby's life was her faith in God and caring for her family and extended family. She attended the Hope Center Church.
She died July 4, 2006 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, inpatient unit.
Survivors: Her husband, Elbert 'Butch' Cogburn; two daughters and their husbands, Kay and Herb Ley of Las Vegas, Nev., and Patti and Jan Massey of Canon City; two sons and their wives, Harley K. and Beverly Ferris of Rincon, Ga., and Ricky L. and Dara Ferris of Archdale, N.C.; three sisters, Alta Lloyd, Gladys Buxman and Beverly Dhooge, all of Greeley; a brother, Alvin Haun of Altadena, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; and a special niece, Gina Kortmeyer and her family, all of Greeley.
Preceded in death by: Her first husband, her parents, two brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter."

"Alta Iva Lloyd, 92, of Greeley, passed away May 5, 2013, at Elms Haven Care Center in Thornton, Colo. She was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Wray, Colo., to Claude and Elizabeth (Bell) Haun.
Alta grew up in Greeley and attended Greeley public schools. She married Dennis Lloyd in Greeley. Alta and Dennis owned and operated D&R Trailer Sales in Greeley.
She loved cleaning her home and interior decorating. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Alta is survived by her son, Denny (Sharon) Lloyd of Arizona City, Ariz.; grandchildren, Gregory Lloyd and Brenda (Bryan) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Christopher (Sachelle) Thompson, Nicholas (Kaitlee) Thompson, Brook Thompson and Kyla Lloyd, all of Thornton; brother, Alvin Ivan (Margie) Haun of California; sister, Gladys (Harvey) Buxman of Greeley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Services include visitation from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, and funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, both at Adamson Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. "

October 22, 1956 Greeley, Colorado.
" Mrs. Ida Greschke, 56, formerly of Greeley, died Monday morning at St. Joseph's hospital, Denver. She resided at 10701 East Kentucky avenue, Denver. She had been ill for several-months. Born April 3, 1900 at Danbury, Neb., Mrs. Greschke lived in Greeley from 1921 through 1950. She moved directly to Denver from Greeley. Surviving are her husband, Jack Greschke; a daughter, Mrs. Arvilla Dill of Pierce; two sons, Clinton and Robert Greschke, both of Denver; six grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Harry Herr of Yuba City, Calif.; and six brothers, Claude Haun of Greeley, Dallas, Marcalis and Denzel Haun, all of Wray, William Haun of North Platte, Neb., and LeRoy Haun, in the armed service. Funeral services will be announced by Macys."

April 12, 1956 "John (Jack) George Greschke, 70, of Denver, formerly of Greeley, died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital at Denver. He was born Oct. 9, 1891 , at Wessington, S. D. and was reared in South Dakota and came to Wray in 1916. He was married to Ida Haun, March 17, 1917, in Wray where they lived until 1921 when they moved to Greeley.
Greschke was a member of the Lutheran Church. Children Clinton of Derby, Robert D. of Denver and Mrs. Ray (Arvella) Dill of Pierce; two brothers, Paul of Torrance, Calif., and George of Sioux City, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Fairfield of Grand Island, Neb.; and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday from Adamson's Memorial Chapel with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens."
