Alfred Hambleton, daughters Mary T. (Hambleton) Bennett and Rose Winifred (Hambleton) Fisk, Wray
Alfred, per one family history, was the son of Joseph Hambleton 1791-1845 and Ann R. Neal 1796-1858.

Alfred "Hambliton" and Lydia A. Thompson married in Morgan County, Ohio on April 5, 1857.



Alfred Hamilton in 1870 Audrain County, Missouri, a blacksmith 38 born in Ohio, with "Liddie" 36, Floretta 10, Clinton 9, and Mary 8 all born in Ohio. Idah 6 was born in Illinois, Rose 1 in Missouri.
Mary "Hamlton" is in Washington County, Kansas in 1880, 17, born in Ohio, a maid for James and Halley Harland, both of Iowa.
In 1885 Washington County, Kansas, A. Hambleton is 52, L.A. 51. Next to them is M. T. Bennett 3 (probably had married S.A. Bennett.) With them are Ida Jones 21 and Leta 1, R. W. Hambleton 16 and C. Hambleton 14, both female>
Alfred cash-claimed 160 acres in section 2, 1N 43W and 35, 2N 43W in 1891, and timber-claimed 160 acres in 1895.

Mary cash-claimed a quarter in 25, 2N 43W in 1890, and timber-claimed one next to it in section 26 in 1896.

Mary was appointed Laird postmaster on July 12, 1897, replaced by L. J. Wright in October 1889.

April 1899 Laird items "John Brown is fencing the Hamilton ranch." (this might be another family.)

In 1900 Alfred is a farmer in Washington County, Kansas, born May 1832, married 42 years to Lidia A. January 1836, both in Ohio. Granddaughter Leta Jones was born April 1884 in Kansas, and grandson Claud Chamberlain July 1886 in Iowa.
Claude is Floretta's son, and he was also on the 1900 census with Thomas Sl Chambrland an Flo in COffey County, Kanas.


April 1900 Laird items "D. A. Murdock has rented the Hambleton house."

June 1900 "Mrs. A.E. Hayes and Miss Murdock moved into the Hamilton house this week."

November 1906 "Positively no hunting allowed on either my place nor the Hamilton place which is in my charge.

In 1910 Coffey County, Kansas, Alfred 77 and Lydia A. Hambleton 76 are living alone.

Alfred is widowed in 1920 Coffey County, 87, living with Theodore and Floretta Chamberlain. Theodore is a real estate borker, Claude T. is 33, a veterinarian.

Alfred 1832-1924 is buried in LeRoy, Coffey County # 12237436, with Lydia A. 1834-1917 # 12237453.

IDA

Ida Hambleton, 20, and C.W. Jones 23, married in Washington County, Kansas on June 22, 1883, at the residence of the bride.

One tree said C.W. died in 1884, and that Ida Ann then married Alfred Houston, having Nannie and Charles.
Ida J. Jones, age 22 months, died March 24, 1884, and is buried in Wray "Daughter of J. L. and Ida J. Jones" # 101055379.
Ida, born about 1858 in Michigan, is buried in Wray 1858-1932 # 47590267, with John L. Jones 1848-1920.

POSSIBLY - but one tree said the Ida Hamilton Houston in 1930 Yuma County, was another one, daughter of Wm. and Olive Hamiltonof Michigan.
In 1910 Mercer County, Pennsylvania, Edward Houston is 47, Ida 46, ALfred 9 born in Kanss, and Charles 7 in Pennsylvania.
Ida has had three children, two living.

John Alfred Houston was born May 19, 1901 at Hanover, Kansas, and registered for WWII in Yuma COunty.

In 1920 they're in Red Willow County, Nebraska, Edwarda alaborer at the railroad depot, Edarad 52 born in Pennsylvania, Ida 53 in Illinois, ALfred 18 in Kansas, and Charles 16 in Pennsylvania.

November 1922 Wray "Charley Bullard sold 281 acres to Mr. Houston of Benkelman for a home."

April 1923 Laird items in the Wray Rattler
"Mrs. Houston and son Charles visited at Laird last Wednesday.
Ed Houston was up to the Redding farm for cane seed last Wednesday.
Mrs. Burnside visited Mrs. Houston last Thursday."


Edward and Ida are farming in 1930 Yuma COunty, Edward 67, Ida 66, and Alfred 29 a laborer.

Edward 1862-1930 is buried in Wray #37800302.

Ida A. Houston 1863-1938 is buried in Wray # 37800321.

Death: 17 APR 1944 in Hunter, Cass County, North Dakota

"Final Rites For Mrs. Rose W. Fiske, Wednesday DECEASED HAD
LIVED IN THIS COMMUNITY FORTY-EIGHT YEARS
Friends gathered at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon to pay th eir last respects to a departed pioneer mother, Mrs. Rose W. Fiske. Rev. H. J.Gernhardt officiated at the services and a quartet composed of Mrs. Otis M ays, Mrs. Shirley Myers, Merland Carr and Kenneth Thompson sang three selections, Face to Face, Abide With Me and Nearer Still Nearer. They were accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Thompson at the piano. Pall bearers were, R. E. Thompson, A.M. Peterson, H.E.Buchanan, H.F.Gale, Leslie Powlison and Rev. W.W.Gunter. The body was laid to rest in the family lot in the Hunter cemetery.

Rose Wentworth Hambleton was born July 16,1869 at Mexico, Missouri. During her early childhood her family moved to Northern Kansas and from there to Oskaloosa, Iowa where she attended school. After finishing school she went to Wray, Colorado, where she was post-mistress until her marriage to William W. Fiske, May 5, 1889.
In 1896 she and her husband moved to Hunter where she since resided. To this union were born nine children, eight of whom are living Warren, William and Florence, Hunter; Mrs. Eva Duffield and Leslie of Ottawa, Illinois; Winifred of Duluth, Minnesota; Clarence of Fargo and Mrs. Fay Johnson of Bristow, Oklahoma, all of whom were present for the services. Thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren beside her many friends shall hold her in pleasant memory. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in 1930. Mrs. Clarence Fisk and two children of Fargo also attended the services."
William W. Fisk proved up a quarter in 31, 2N 42W in 1894, and timber-claimed another in 32, 2N 42W in 1896. Mary R. Fisk proved up a quarter nex to him in 193>

Rose W. Hambleton and William W. Fisk, both of Laird, Colorado married on May 5, 1889, in Yuma County, Colorado. The ceremony was performed by David Foreman, of Condon, Arapahoe County, Colorado (probably livingat Vernon). Witnesses were F. R. Fisk and Miss Jennie B. Wellman.
It was recorded in Washington County, Colorado.

In 1900 Cass County, North Dakota, William Fisk is farming, born April 1865 in Iowa, with Rose July 1868 Missouri. Eva L. June 1890, Minnie E. Nov 1891, Warren C. Dec 1892, Florence August 1894 were born in Colorado, William H. March 18977 and a son born June 1899, , borth in North Dakota.

In 1920 Cass County, William is farming, 54, Rose W. 51, Winnifred E. 28, and Florence A. 25 both born in Colorado. William H. 22, Clarence A. 20, Leslie D. 18, and Fay R. 14 born in North Dakota.

MARY

One tree said she was born August 20, 1861 and died at Laird, Colorado March 4, 1889.

Mary T. Hambleton, 20, and Simeon A. Bennett, 25, both of Sherman Township, Washington County, Kanas, married there on June 24, 1882.

Simeon was in Washington County, Kansas in 1880, 24, son of William A. Benentt 56 and Mary 5.

Simeon A. Bennett, 32 married Annie M. Fox on March 4, 1888 in Washington COunty, Kansas.
In 1910 Washington County, Simeon is 54, with Anna M. 55 - second marriage for both. Teddy S. 20 and Donald A. 1q5 were born in Kanssas.

Simeon A. Bennett, 71, born in Covington, Kentucky, died December 4, 1927 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery.
His spouse was Anna Bellows Bennett.

October 1907 Wray "Mrs. F. Richards of this city, is enjoying a visit from her mother, Mrs. Bennett, of Kansas, who arrived last week."

1909 "Miss Hazel Bennett who has been visiting the Fred Richards for several weeks, returned to her home at Yates Center, Kansas, last Sunday. Miss Bennett is a sister of Mrs. Fred Richards."
