Harvey and Effie (Shutt) Clem, Wray
Harvey is the son of David Clem, so Adam Clem is his uncle, and theMargaret Clem dying in Wray was his aunt by marriage.


In 1900 Van Wert County, Ohio, Effie C. Shutt born October 1883 in Ohio, is shown as the daughter of Wilford Cooper, 65 and Alfretta 45. Chester is 7, Elmer 5, Clarence 2, and Ivan 1. Jay H. Shutt Mar 1880 and John W. July 1881 are also with them.

Alfraetta Shutt 22 and Andrew Shutt 33 were in Crawford County, Ohio in 1880, with Carrie 2 and Harrison three months.

1896 Monroeville, Indiana "Mrs. Jacob Shutt is very ill with Typhoid fever at this writing."

Harvey, 19, son of David Clem and Clara Taylor, married Effie C. Shutt on May 6, 1903 in Van Wert, Ohio. Effie was 19, daughter of Andrew Shutt and Rida Saylor.

1907 Monroeville, Indiana "On last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Clem of near Dixon, Ohio, occured a very pleasant and enjoyable event in the way of a family reunion of children and grandchildren. All enjoyed a pleasant time, until the noon hour when a sumptuous dinner was served to which all did ample justice. After this the children were each presented with a family Bible by the father and mother, Later all departed for their homes wishing father and mother many more such enjoyable gatherings.
Those present were Fred Cowell and Dennie Clem, at home; S. J. [Samuel Jackson] Clem, wife and children, Roy, Florence and Susie of Dixon; 2Itb. Emma Taylor, children Lottie and David of Batson; Joe Murfield, wife and children, Mabelle and Gladys of Monroeville; Ross Isenbarger and wife of New Haven; [Margie Clem 1887-1954 married Ross D. Isenbarger 1886-1925] Isiah Clem and wife, Harve Clem, wife and daughter Bessie, Jake Schlemmer, wife and daughter Velma, [Ida Clem 1885-1952 married Jacob Schlemmer 1884-1960] Mrs. Bert Clem and son Earl all of Fort Wayne; I. Sponseller and wife, and Messrs John and Elick Rogers."

In 1910 Allen County, Harvey is farming, 28, born in Indiana, married six years to Ellie C. Clem 25 born in Ohio. She's had three kids, two living. Bessie is y, Lester 25 months, both born in Indiana.

1919 "H. C. Clem was installed as manager to succeed Mr. John L. Parker as manager in the Standard Lumber Company.

In 1920 Wray, Harvey is managing a lumber company, 38, with Ellie 35, Bessie 15, and Lester E. 11.

June 1922 "Mrs. Harvey Clem left Thursday morning for Convoy, Ohio, where she will make an extended visit with relatives. Mrs. Clem contemplates being gone several months."

April 1923 " Mrs. Harve Clem and son Lester are visiting Miss Bessie Clem in Hastings , Neb. "

In 1930 Springfield, Colorado (Baca County) Harvey is managing a lumberyard, 47, wtih Effie 46.

In 1940 Adams County, Indiana, Harvey is farming, 58, with Effie 52. They were in Baca County, Colorado in 1935.

Harvey 1881-1953 is buried in Arvada Colorado, # 18729811.


Effie C. (Shutt) Clem 1883-1969 is buried in Arvada # 18729769.



LESTER

Lester Elsworth Clem was born April 29, 1908 in Allen County, Indiana to Harvey Clem and Effie Shutt.

Lester is buried in Fort Logan 1908-1987 # 100735012, with Wilma O. (Engle) 1912-2011.

BESSIE

August 1922 "Miss Gladys Galbreath and Miss Bessie Clem left Tuesday for Denver and Fort Collins for a short vacation."

In 1930 Denver, Bettie is 25, married to William P. Fisher, 26 born in Colorado, a salesman for a packer.

They're in Denver in 1940, William a salesman for Armour, Betty A. 35, and John W. 5, born in Pueblo.
Betty is buried in Arvada, Colorado 1904-1993 # 19254944, with Wm. "Bud" 1909-1963.
