In 1880 Allen County, Indiana, Adam Clem is farming, 34, Margaret 37, Mary S. 11, George W. 8, and Sarah A. 2, all born in Indiana.
October 31, 1895 "After an illness from heart trouble of only a few days,
Adam Clem, one of Monroe townships highly respected citizens,
died at the family residence near Dixon, Ohio on Tuesday morning,
October 29th 1895. The funeral was held Wednesday morning from the house
and services were conducted at the Flat Rock Lutheran church by the pastor
Rev. Kain, after which the remains were followed to their last
resting place in the I. O. O. F., cemetery south of town by a very
large cortege of relatives and friends. The deceased was a son of Samuel Clem,
(deceased) and had reached the age of 43 years, 6 months and 13 day,
during which time he has been a resident of this township.
He leaves a wife and six children together with a large circle of relatives
and friends to mourn their loss. As the deceased was one of the quiet
and respected citizens we have lost one who will be missed as a
citizen, church, and society circles."
In 1900 Allen County, Sarah W. Diswaeton is widowed, with son Earl E. June 1897. His father was born in Ohio.

born Feb 1844, Adam M. Clem Sept 1880, and William R. Clem Sept 1885.
June 1910 "Mrs. M. Clem and Mrs. W. Miller and
son Earl arrived Monday morning from Findlay, Ohio.
They are the mother, sister and nephew of Mrs. Albert
Nelson north of town and Mrs. N. P. Peters of the
Coston ranch, whom they will visit for a few weeks."
July 1910 "Mrs. Clem and Mrs. Miller,
mother and sister of Mrs. Nelson, of the sand hills,
and Mrs. Peters, of the Black Wolf,
came from Ohio Monday of last week to visit for
a few weeks."
August 1916 "George Clem, of Findlay, Ohio,
arrived in Wray last Saturday for a visit with his
sister, Mrs. Albert Nelson, who lives four miles
north of town."
In 1917, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson and Grandma Clem, Irene Nelson, and Ira Nelson were some of the friends and neighbors of the Dan Patchen family, north of Wray.
Margaret proved up 320 acres in sections 19, 20, and 29, 2N 43W in 1920. Her 1918 witnesses were Galveston Leaman, John L. Dalyrmple, Stephen D. Taylor, and Jacob L. Nicholson, all of Wray.

"We wish to thank our friends and neighbors for their many kindnesses
rendered to us during the sad death of our dear mother,
also for the beautiful flowers and singing. Mary Nelson,
George Clem, Sarah Lancaster, Winfield Clem,
Myrtle Peters, Ross Clem."
Margaret is buried in the Monroeville, Indiana cemetery # 42403546, with Adam Clem 1846--1895.
SARAH
Sarah A. Clem married Samuel C. "Darwaetor" on June 22, 1896 in Allen County, Indiana.
In 1900 Allen County, Sarah W. Diswaeton is widowed, with son Earl E. June 1897. His father was born in Ohio.
They're living with Margaret Clem, widowed,
born Feb 1844, Adam M. Clem Sept 1880, and William R. Clem Sept 1885.
In 1920 Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio, Sadi Miller is 40, widowed, born in Indiana, a glove maker in a factory.
Her son Earl C. Darwactor 22 works in a handle factory.
Sarah Ann Lancaster, born Dec 15, 1878 at Fort Wayne, Indiana to Adam Clem and Margaret Grider, married Frank Mendenhall 47, on June 29, 1937 in Scott County, Indiana.
Earl is working in an automotive light factory in 1930 Findlay, Ohio, 33, married to Ruth 33.

Mary Clem married Albert Nelson in Allen County, Indiana on November 29, 1888.
In 1900 Adams County, Indiana, Albert Nelson is farming, born March 1866, Mary Nov 1868, Maud March 1890,
Grace January 1893, Ira A. 3 and Irena 1.
May 14, 1909 Wray "Albert Nelson and N. B. Peters of the
north part of Dundy county, Nebraska, who were up here
visiting Eli Shaaf week before last, were so taken with the
country that they returned last Monday and Mr. Nelson filed on
a homestead northeast of town a few miles. Mr. Nelson has
children of high school age and it was to take advantage of
our excellent high school facilities as much as any thing else
that induced him to make the change. Mr. Peters will return
later and invest in some of our real estate."
In 1910 Yuma County, Albert is farming, 42, born in Indiana, married 21 years to Mary 40, with Grace M. 17, Ira A. 13, Irene M. 11, Paul A. 5, all born in Indiana, and Walter 2 in Nebraska.
August 1911 "Hail accompanied the storm of Thursday evening of
last week, in several localities. Out northeast at Albert Nelson's
place it bent up his rubberoid roofing until the roof wouldn't
hold water nor turn water, and Mr. Nelson had to imnmdiately
repair the entire building with a shingle roof."
June 12, 1913 "A very pretty wedding occurred at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Nelson north of town Tuesday when their daughter,
Miss Grace, was given in marriage to Mr. Ray C. Mullison,
son of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Mullison, also north of town.
The ceremony was performed at high noon by Rev. C. L. Harrington,
pastor of the Vernon Methodist church, in the presence of forty
guests. Mendelsohn's wedding march was played by the bride's sister,
Miss Irene, while the bride and groom took their places underneath
a wedding bell which was suspended from the center of an arch,
attended by Miss Veda Ramsey of Wray as Brides maid and Ross Clem
as best man. The bride was beautifully attired in a dress of
Brussels net over white silk and carried a shower bouquet of
bride's roses and the bridegroom wore the usual black.
The house decorations being in green and white.
Immediately after the ceremony all sat down to a bountiful
wedding dinner which was served in five courses by the
Misses Alma Ambler, Flora Leaman, and Irene Nelson with
the bridal party at one table and the guests at the other.
The many presents received were beautiful and useful,
some being sent them from relatives and friends in the east.
The happy couple departed for Denver the same evening
where they will enjoy a short honeymoon and will be at
home to their friends after July 1st on a farm seven
miles north of town where the bridegroom has a new
modern eight room house in readiness for his bride.
Mr. Mullison has lived in Yuma county the past
thirteen years and his wife five years,
the latter having been a student in the county high
school at one time. Both come from very fine families
and are estimable young people who have won many
friends in this community who are anxious to extend
congratulations and wish them God-speed on this
their new journey through life."

August 10, 1916 "George Clem, of Finley [Findlay], Ohio,
arrived in Wray last Saturday for a visit with his sister, Mrs.
Albert Nelson, who lives four miles north of town."
Albert proved up 340 acres in section 20, 2N 43W in 1916.
March 1918 "Attorney R. B. Peters of Fort Wayne,
Indiana, who was here last week visiting his father,
Isaac Peters, and Uncles, N. B. Peters and Albert Nelson,
left for his home last Thursday evening. This was Mr. Peter's
first trip to Wray, and he was highly impressed with the
town and surrounding country."
July 1919 "Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Peters and daughter, Ruby,
arrived Friday evening, in Wray to spend a few days visiting Mrs.
Peters' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nelson, north of Wray.
The Peters now reside in Denver, but formerly resided near
Beecher Island."
In 1920 Wray, Albert Nelson 53 and Mary 50, Aria [Ira] A. son 22, Maurine 20, Paul A. 15, all five born in Indiana, Walter E. 16 in Nebraska, and Evalina M. 8 in Colorado.
Albert Nelson, dying April 19, 1928 is buried in Boulder, Colorado # 11110727.
In 1930 Boulder, Colorado, Mary is widowed, 60, Irene M. 28, Paul A, 25, Walter E. 21, and Evaline M. 19.
In 1940 Boulder, Mary is 68, living with daughter Irene Neff and her husband Frederick, both 32, and Patty Ann Neff 5.
Mary S. Nelson, dying July 30, 1953, is buried in Boulder # 11110737.
Ira Albert Nelson, 23, married Clara Vivian Ambler on April 4, 1920 in La Junta, Colorado, recorded in Prowers County.
March 1922 "Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reed moved to their
newly purchased farm north of town Tuesday. Ira Nelson, who had
been living on the farm Mr. Reed purchased, moved to the Homer
Pickett farm, and Mr. Pickett moved to Wray to occupy the
house vacated by the Reed family."
Clara V. Nelson is widowed in 1930 Yuma County, living with parents Everett Ambler 70 and Nellie J. 63. Vivian is 31, Ivan A. 9, Melvin A. 7, and Robert D. Nelson 5.
Vivian is in Denver in 1940, working as a government clerk, 40, with Robert 15 and Melvin 17.
Ira is in New York in 1942, working for Charles Scribner Sons on West 43rd, born January 31, 1897 in Adams County, Indiana. His reference was Jack Jones living at the same address on West 3rrd Stree, New York.
Paul A. Nelson and Edna I. Crowder married on May 29, 1935 in Boulder.
Walter E. Nelson and Helen Congdon married on August 31, 1930
in Boulder, Colorado.
Walter Edgar Nelson, born at Wauneta, Nebraska April 5, 1908, is working at a Phillips station in Boulder, with wife Helen G. Nelson.
Irene M. Neff 1901-1987 and Frederick R Neff 1909-1986 are buried in Wheat Ricge, COlorado.
GEORGE
August 10, 1916 "George Clem, of Finley [Findlay], Ohio,
arrived in Wray last Saturday for a visit with his sister, Mrs.
Albert Nelson, who lives four miles north of town."
In 1920 Wray, George W. Clem is 46, Margaret 76, living
with Albert Nelson 53 and Mary 50, Aria A. son 22, Maurine 20, Paul A. 15, all five born inIndiana, Walter E. 16 in Nebraska, and Ealora M. 8 in Colorado.
George Clem and Tena Hardy married October 11, 1935 in Yuma County.
In 1940 Wray, George is 67, Tina 38.
George Washington Clem 1873-1949 is buried in Wray # 17086947.
Tena May Clem married Ira Glen Trout on August 11, 1952 in Salt Lake City.
Tena M. Trout 1902-1980 is buried in Platteville, Colorado # 33195782.
ROSS WILLIAM

May 20, 1910 Wray "Miss Grace Nelson and her uncle, Ross Clem visited
at the L. D. Mullison home Sunday, also Mr. John Darlymple and family."
Ross is buried in Nuckolls County, Nebraska # 27065707.
"Ross W. Clem, 59, for twenty-seven years a resident of Nelson, died at the wheel of his car last Thursday evening while returning to his home here from Deweese. He was stricken at a point about six and one-half miles north of town on Highway 14 at about 6:30 p.m. Apoplexy was given as the cause of death by Dr. J.E. Ingram, the attending physician.
Mr. Clem had arisen early in the morning and gone to Deweese where he was having repairs made on his car. While these were being made he spent the time fishing in the Little Blue river (sic) nearby. When his car became available in the late afternoon he picked it up and left for Nelson.
Following his lapse the car went into the ditch, through the fence and into the Harris pasture, where it stalled on a rise and backed into the ravine. Frank R. Harris, a farmer living nearby, in company with Arthur M. Ray went to the scene, and upon finding Mr. Clem's body called the authorities in Nelson.
Mr. Clem had been in apparent good health and his untimely passing came as a distinct shock to the community.
Ross W. Clem, son of the Rev. Adam and Margaret Clem, was born near Fort Wayne, Indiana, September 23, 1886; departed this life at Nelson Nebraska, August 1, 1946, at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 7 days.
At the age of 18 years, or in the year 1904 he came to Dorchester, Nebr. When he was 21 years of age he took a homestead in Yuma county (sic), near Wray, Colorado. He returned to Dorchester in 1915.
In the year 1917 on the 15th of May, he was united in marriage to Miss Grayce Pearl Dillon, and after their marriage they moved to Findley, Ohio. They made their home at Findley until the year of 1919, when they moved to Nelson, going to a farm two miles east and one-fourth north of Nelson. Later they moved to a farm one mile north and three and a half east of Nelson. They lived on each of these farms for six years, coming to Nelson and entering in the insurance business in 1932. In this new enterprise he was very successful, receiving many recognitions from his company. Within the last year the insurance company gave him a vacation in the form of a hunting trip with all expenses paid. He had the fine gift of making friends, indeed in this very busy world he took time to make friends.
He joined the Methodist Church when a boy, but he became a member of the Nelson Methodist Church in 1924 under the pastor, Rev. V.R. Beebe.
Ross was the youngest of six children. The father preceded him in the year 1893 and the mother in 1923. Those who are left behind along with his loving and faithful wife, are three sisters and two brothers. They are Mrs. Mary Nelson and Mrs. Myrtle E. Peters both of Wray, Colorado; Sadie Mendenhall of Findley, Ohio; George W. of Wray, Colo.; and Winfield A. of Palmyra, Nebr. Besides these he leaves eight nieces and six nephews; also five great nieces and eight great nephews. He will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones.
He was a member of the Lions Club of Nelson and he enjoyed the fellowship of the men of this very fine organization.
The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church at two o'clock. Rev. V.R. Daniels of Harvard was in charge with Rev. Clarence V. Powell assisting. Music was furnished by a quartet - Mrs. L.F. Sinkey, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. F. Murphy and Lowell Powell. Mrs. Sinkey also sang a solo. Mrs. Hite assisted at the piano. Burial was at the Nelson cemetery (sic). The pallbearers were from the Lions Club and they also met in a body at the church."
r "Grayce Pearl (Dillon) Clem, daughter of Zachariah and Almira (Mumma) Dillon, was born near Dorchester, Nebraska, May 15, 1887. She departed this life on October 7, 1977, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson. At the age of 12 years, Pearl with her parents, moved to Dorchester, where she finished high school. In 1905, she entered Wesleyan University and the Conservatory of Music at Lincoln, finishing in piano and voice i 1909. From the year she was 18 years old, she instructed piano and voice. Besides that she directed choirs in Dorchester, Wray and Yuma, Colorado, and in Nelson for 30 years. "
MYRTLE
Myrtle is buried in Wray 1883-1972 # 68941916.
"Funeral services were held Monday at the Lockwood Mortuary for Mrs. N. B. Peters who passed away in Denver June 2, at the age of 88 years. Rev. Lee Martin officiated.
Myrtle E. Peters was born Myrtle Clem September 17, 1883 in Indiana. She was married to N. B. Peters September 6, 1905. They lived near Crete, Nebraska for a few years , then settled southeast of Wray on Blackwolf Creek.
Following the death of her husband in 1941, she went to Denver to live with her daughter, Ruby Cross.
She was a charter member of Silver Crescent Rebekah Lodge at Ogallala, Nebraska and a member of Burns United Methodist Church in Denver.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruby Cross; two stepsons, Lyle Peters of Los Angeles, California, and Martin Peters of Crete, Nebraska; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

WINFIELD

March 1906 Monroeville, Indiana " Winfield Clem has decided to go to Nebraska
soon, and it is the supposition of neighbors and friends that he does not
intend to make the trip alone."
Winfield A. Clem, 26, married Lena B. Wild on June 24, 1908 in Saline County, Nebraska.
July 1908 "On Wednesday evening, June 24th at the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs J.R. Wild of Crete, Nebraska, occurred the wedding of Mr. Winfield Clem,
of Ough, Neb., and Aliss Lena Wild, of Crete, Nebraska.
Miss Emma Wild, sister of the bride was bridesmaid and Mr. Frank Wild,
brother of the bride was groomsman The groom's niece Miss Grace Nelson,
of Ough, Neb,., played the wedding march. The bride wore a
white silk princess gown, trimmed in valence nest lace and carried a bouquet
of bridal roses, while the groom wore the conventional black.
The rooms were beautifully decorated, the prevailing colors being
green and white and pink and white. After the ceremonies were performed,
a delicious four course supper was served.
Many useful and valuable presents were received.
The pastor of the M. E., church of Crete officiated.
After a short trip to the west they will be at home in Crete, Nebraska.
The bride is a highly respected and popular young lady of Crete, Nebraska.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Clem (Adam Clem deceased
and is well aud iavorably known in Allen County, Ind.,
having been born and raised near Monroeville, Indiana."
They're farming in 1910 Saline County, both 28.

Lola 9, Hazel 7, and Wilson 5.
In 1930 they have Iola M. 20,. Hazel L. 18, William W. 16, and Jacob R. 8.
In 1940 they're farming in Otoe County, with Wilson W. 25 and Jake R. 18.
Winfield Adam Clem 1881-1959 is buried in Otoe County, Nebraska # 61589686, with Lena B. Clem 1881-1962.
Mildred Agnes Coston (1912-1996) married 1) Lester Clem; 2) Earl C. Strobeck;
April 15, 1915 "Mr. Clem put up a house on his
claim last week."
