Joseph L. and Mary Fountain

, Laird

Joseph might be the "Israel" Fountaine, 6, in 1870 Kankakee County, Illiois. Isaac is 36, a boot-maker with Andile 35 and Treffler 8 all three born in Canada. Israel 6 and Agnes 2 were born in Illinois.

Isaac J. Fountaine 1834-1894 is buried in Saint Rose Cemetery, Kankakee # 6958389.
So is Mary C. Fountaine 1837-1928 # 6958394.

MARY'S FAMILY

Mary Tisedre is in Kankakee County, Illinois in 1870, 2, born in Illinois. Her father Camille 30 is a shoemaker born in France, mother Henriette in Canada.

Camille was charged with operating a liquor sales operation in June 1881 in Clyde, Could County, Kansas.
In 1885 Clay County, Kansas, Camille is operating a billiard hall, 45, with Annette 39, Mary 17, Maggie 13, and Jule 3.

Camille is operating a saloon in 1893-1894 Beatrice, Nebraska.

Maggie Teissedre married James Birkett in Gage County in 1895.

August 1904 "Joseph Hughes and Camille Teissedre returned from Holmesville last evening where they have been fishing for the past few days. They landed at least fifteen pounds of fish yesterday and Mr. Teissedre covered himself with glory by getting the largest fish. While he was on the river bank looking after the catch, the largest one rolled back into the river, and in his attempt to get it, "Cam" got a good ducking."

1908 Beatrice "Mr. and Mrs. Jules Teissedre, who have been on the road with a theatrical company for some time, are visiting in the city."

In 1910 Gage County, Nebraska, Camille Teissedre is a janitor, 64, born in France, with margaret 64 in Canada.

March 1945 Beatrice "Anna Eva Rita Mason was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Leppley on July 1, 1865, near Toledo, Iowa, and came to Beatrice approximately fifty years ago. She has made her home here since. She has been in ill health for ten year? or more, and passed away February 22. She is the last of a family of four. Her husband, Edward Mason, passed away thirty years ago. Her twin daughters survive her, Mrs. Mabel Teissedre of the home in Glenover, and Mrs. Maude Lawson of Redwood City, Calif. Funeral service was held from the Harman-Johnson funeral home on February 27. "

In 1900 Beatrice, Nebraska, Joseph is a painter, born June 1864, Mary June 1868, both born in Illinois. Agnes May 1887 in Kansas?, Camille April 1889 Elma June 1892, and Oswald January 1896 in Illinois, Maggie May 1898 in Nebraska.

March 12, 1909 "Mr. Fountain and daughter Margaret made a pleasant call in Laird last Saturday."

April 1909 "Mr. Fountain, the painter, expects to take charge of the hotel in a short time."
"Mr. and Mrs. Fountain took charge of the hotel Tuesday."

December 1909 Laird "Alma Fountain attended the masquerade ball in Wray , Tuesday night"

In 1910 Yuma County, Joseph is farming, 46, with Mary 42, Elma 18, Oswald 14 - all four born in Illinois, Margaret 12 and Ruby 3 in Nebraska.

Joe cash-claimed a quarter in 9, 2N 42W in 1911.
His witnesses were Charles C. Nies, Charles Miller, Frank Allen and robert Porter, all of Laird.
March 11, 1910 "Ed Hanshaw has purchased the dwelling house lately occupied by the Fountain family and will take possession at once."

In 1920 Joe is a retail furniture decorator in Omaha, 54, with Mary 52 and Ruby 13.

Joseph E. 74 and Mary 71 are in Omaha in 1940.

The Omaha obituary index has : "FOUNTAINE, Joseph E.; 84; 26 Nov 1949 OWH morn p 23 @ Mount Olivet, Denver, CO"

January 6, 1911

June 1911 "Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Baker moved to Wray the first of the week from B. D. Prentice's farm south of Laird."

May 24, 1917 "Mrs. Clarence Baker and three little daughters were visiting Mrs. Lizzie Schafer of Laird, from Friday until Sunday . Mrs. Schafer is the grandmother of the Baker children."

May 1918 "Mrs. Clarence Baker and children, of McCook, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Baker."
Clarence Lloyd Baker, son of George Henry Baker and Mary Maude Elizabeth Shafer was born on Jun 27, 1891 in Lincoln, Lancaster, NE; of Denver, CO; of Pine, CO. He died on Nov 30, 1962 in Wray, Yuma, CO. He married Elma Harriette Fountain.

Elma Harriette Fountain, daughter of Joseph Esral Fountain and Mary Agnes Teissedre/ Tessedre/Tiessedre was born on Jun 21, 1891 in Kankakee Co., IL; of Denver, CO; of Pine, CO. She died on Aug 29, 1968 in Wray Community Hosp., Wray, Yuma, CO.

Elma Harriette Fountain and Clarence Lloyd Baker had the following children:

iii. George Wilson Baker, son of Clarence Lloyd Baker and Elma Harriette Fountain was born between 1915-1916. He died on Mar 01, 1942 in Battle of Sunda Strait. He married Mary. She was born about 1916 in NY.

iv. Clarence Joseph Baker, son of Clarence Lloyd Baker and Elma Harriette Fountain was born on Dec 20, 1918. He died on Nov 25, 1996. He lived in Huntinton Beach, Orange, CA. He married Anne G.. She was born about 1917.

v. Frank Albert Baker, son of Clarence Lloyd Baker and Elma Harriette Fountain was born on Jul 08, 1922 in McCook, Red Willow, NE. He died on May 04, 2008 in Lakewood, Jefferson, CO. He married Dorothy Mary Cox, daughter of Homer Chauncy Cox and Beulah Virgie Van Buskirk on May 29, 1942 in Denver, Denver, CO. She was born on Feb 07, 1924 in Denver, Denver, CO. She died on May 16, 1984 in Denver, Denver, CO.

AGNES

Charley Nies 21, married Agnes Fountain on October 15, 1903 in Beatrice, Nebraska.
