In 1880 Republic County, Kansas, H.C. Royse is a druggist, 35, with Julia 21. Olvve S. is 1, Julia two months.
Hiram Craig Royse 1844-1887 is buried in Fairbury, Nebraska # 19783231.
Julia "Lewis" is in Johnson County, Nebraska in 1900, born July 1859 in Iowa,
married six years, a nurse. Frank Royce, 13 is with her.
Frank Royse, 23, a station agent, and Julia Swallow, 51, are in Thurston County, Washington in 1910
In 1920 Julia is back in Johnson County, Nebraska, 61, with daughter Pearl G. Benson 39 and her husband Charles N. Benson 52 and their three kids.

In 1900 Phillips County, Kansas, William Basquin is farming, born March 1867 in Ohio, married two years to Olive S. January 1879 Knasas, with Viola J. June 1899 Kansas.
William and O.S. are in Phillips County in 1905, with Viola 6, Julia 3, and Gladys 1.
In 1910 Phillips County, W. H. has a livery stable, 43, Olive 31 a restaurant cook, Viola 11, Juliua 8, Gladys M. 6, and Lela M. 3.
February 22, 1917 "Mrs. Olive S. Basquin, from north of Laird, was in Wray last Saturday
on business and made a pleasant visit at the Rattler office."
May 22, 1919 Laird schools "Mrs. Basquin goes to Wray next year to the seventh grade.
The best wishes of Laird people go with her. Her place at Laird will be filled by her daughter,
Miss Viola Basquin."
Mrs. Basquin and family moved Saturday to their claim, northeast of Laird.
Louise Murdock was the Friday evening guest of Lela Basquin."
In 1920 Wray, Olive is married but no spouse, a teacher, with Julia A. 18, Gladys 16, Arethela 8, and Lela 13.
Olive proved up a quarter in 28, 2N 42W in 1921.
W.H., a produce buyer, and Olive are alone in 1930 Laird.
In 1940, they're still in Laird, with William a mail messenger, Olive teaching.
William is buried in Denver # 89055807.
"WILLIAM BASQUIN--94: died Friday morning, May 19, 1961 at the PineHaven Nursing Home at Mor-rison, where he had been since last June when he fell & broke a hip. He &his wife have owned & operated the Queen Hotel here for the past 15 years. MrBasquin was born 25 Mar 1867 in Thompson OH. When he was 7 years old his father took the family to Kansas, taking up homestead land near Woodruff; he grew up in the Woodruff area.
MrBasquin was married in Woodruff in 1898, later moving with his wife to Laird, a small farm community in eastern Colorado near the Kasnas-Nebraska line. He operated a farm produce business at Laird for several years & also lived for a time at nearby Wray. About 1942 Mr&Mrs Basquin moved to Denver where they operated various hotels for 4 years. They came to Idaho Springs in 1946, purchasing the Queen hotel here. Mr Basquin had been in failing health for the past 8 or 10 years & the major share in the operation of the hotel had fallen to Mrs Basquin.
He is survived by his wife Olive Basquin-of this city;
4 daughters: Viola Bashford, Wray CO; Julia Stroud, Conifer CO; Lela Whitten,Lamar CO;
Faye Fluckey,Denver CO; a sister: Lila Carrier, Bakersfield CA; 6 grandchildren & 6 gr grandchildren.
Services were held Monday morning in the chapel of Tomford mortuary with Rev William Garner-pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of this city officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver."
Olive is buried in Denver # 91278921.
"OLIVE S BASQUIN, 83, died Monday after-noon, June 11, 1962 at CherryHills Manor Nursing Home
in Englewood, where she had been under care since March, following amputation
of her right leg in January at Mercy Hosp in Denver.
Mrs. Basquin was taken to MercyHosp Dec 29th and on Jan 9th her right leg was
amputated mid-way between the hip & the knee, following developement of an infection
as the result of improper blood circulatory action.
Her death Monday was the result of further development of the circulatory disorder
& infection.
She was born 26 Jan 1879 in Cuba, Kansas & was married to William Basquin on 20 Apr 1898
in Woodruff, Kansas, where the couple made their home for the next several years
& where Mr. Basquin was in the livery business.
In 1918 Mr&Mrs Basquin moved to Laird Colorado, where Mr. Basquin operated a farm
produce business. They later moved to nearby Wray & in 1940 moved to Denver
where they operated hotels until coming to Idaho Springs to purchase the
Queen Hotel in 1946. While living in Kansas & after to moving to Laird & Wray,
Mrs. Basquin taught school for more than 25 years. She & her late husband owned
& operated the Queen Hotel here for more than 12 years.
Following the death of her husband in 1961, Mrs Basquin continued operation
of the Queen Hotel here until she was taken to the hospital.
She is survived by daus: Mrs. Walter Bashford-Wray CO; Mrs. Bonnie Whitten-Lamar;
Mrs. Albert Stroud-Conifer; Mrs. C.M. Fluckey-Denver. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 gr grand-children & a brother: FrankH Royce-Olympia WA. MrsBasquin was preceded in death by her husband & dau: MrsGeorge Leefeldt
Services were held Wednesday afternoon [6-13] in the chapel of Tomford Mortuary.
Rev. Wm. Garner, minister of the First Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
Viola Irene (Basquin) Bashford 1899-1984 is buried in Wray # 16994846.
Ronald Lee Bashford, age 87, of Kennett Square, PA passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Wendy Willett Bashford with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.
Ronald was born in Wray, Colorado, son of Walter M. and Viola Basquin Bashford. He graduated from Wray High School and the University of Colorado and was a Chemical Engineer with the DuPont Company for 41 years in Delaware, New Jersey and Texas, retiring in 1991.
Lela Mae Basquin, 21, married Bonnie E. Whitten on February 16, 1928 in Durango, Colorado.
In 1930 Denver, Lela M. Whitten, 22, is a lodger, married but no spouse, no occupation.
In 1940 Lamar, Colorado, Bonnie is a barber, 34, Lela Mae 33.
Bonnie 1905-1995 # 66958307 "son of Frank Whitten) and
Lela Mae (Basquin) Whitten 1906-1980 are buried in Lamar, Colorado # 66958269, with
Bonnie's father Frank Whitten born Sept 7, 1872, in Indiana to Eligian Whitten and Jane Harris , both of Indiana, died in Davies County, Missouri March 12, 1928, to be buried in Gilman cemetery.
Julia Ayers Stroud 1901-1996 died in Conifer, Colorado # 91899327, with William Stroud 1889-1965.
Arethusa, of Laird, graduated from the Yuma County High School in 1929.
Arethusa Faye (Basquin) (Holt) (Fluckey) # 91899222 is buried in Denver 1911-1978. It says her spouses were Theodore Holt 1909-1962 and Edgar Manford Fluckey 1920-1990.
