Martin was the son of George Bashford & Elizabeth HEISE
In 1880 Hancock County, Illinois, George is 43, born in England, Elisabeth 33 Switzerland. Siblings are George 6, thomas 4, John 13, and Martin 11, all four born in Illinois.

Carolina was the daughter of Cyrus D. Douglass & Louisa F. SIES.
In 1880 Johnson County, Iowa, Cyrus is 44, born in Ohio, Louisa 36 Germany, with Harrey L. 12, James W. 11, E.W. 8, Caroline 6, Chas F. 5, and Cyrus E. newborn.
In 1885 Johnson County, Cyrus is 50, Louisa F. 42, Harry L. 18, James W. 16, Ebenezer 13, Caroline 11, Frank C. 9, Guy 8, Edwin 5, and Joseph 2.
Cyrus Dow Douglass - 1835-1923 and Louisa Fredricka (Sies) Douglass 1843-1920 are buried in German Plains Cemetery, Cheyenne County Kansas.

In 1940 Martin is widowed, living with sons Ray E. 29, Leonard J. 38, and Louis E. 19 in Hale precinct, Yuma County.
Martin Charles Bashford is buried in German Plains cemetery, Kansas 1868-1940 # 32958076 "Martin married Caroline on June 20, 1893 in St. Francis, Kansas. They had five children. His parents were George Henry Bashford, Sr. and Elizabeth Heise Bashford. "

Per one tree, Fannie Pearl Bashford, born March 16, 1894, married Joseph T. Barenberg and died April 20, 1949. Fannie # 70593938 is buried in Benkelman, Nebraska, with Josepoh 1897-1963.
So is their son, Walter S. Barenberg 1931-1996 # 70594102.

WALTER


In 1934 Walter W. Bashford is farming in Section 11, 1N 44W, Yuma County.

Walter Earl Bashford was born in Wray, Colorado on July 11, 1925 toViola Basquin Bashford, and Walter Martin Bashford. He was the third of 4 boys. His brothers were Ron, Bernie and Bruce. Earl and his family lived across from City Hall, which was built after they lived there. Earl was very active in his childhood. He played tennis and was on the swim team in high school. Earl was in college from 1943 ~ 1948 at CU Boulder. He studied Aeronautical Engineering and majored in engines. After 6 semesters of Engineering, he changed to Music. Earl graduated from Music school in 1948, and had enough hours in science and math to be able to teach those subjects also. In grade school, Earl's band teacher was Glenn Miller's older brother, Elmer. They called Elmer, "Doc". Earl and his 3 brothers played in the CU band. Ron played clarinet, Bernie played oboe, early played saxophone, Bruce played baritone. Earl also played with Herb Miller, Glenn's younger brother, in the circus band, and met Glenn Miller several times. Earl bought an old c-alto sax. He paid $35 for it. Earl bought an old e-flat alto sax when he was in college for $125 (Still played by his daughter, Lori, in the Jeffco Community Band).

Earl taught a year in Monte Vista, and then went back to college to work on his Master's degree in Music Education. He worked at dance jobs while he was in college, and worked as a waiter in a hash house in Boulder called MaRhodes. Earl met Della DiRito in Canon City, and they married in 1953. They had 10 children together. Earl lost his wife of 56 years in 2010. He has 39 Grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. For many years, Earl has attended, and served as an Elder at Arvada Presbyterian Church. Earl taught all levels of music in Canon City. He has lived and worked in Bishop California, Denver, Hastings Nebraska, Canon City, Evergreen, and then in Arvada. He also worked at Graul Florist delivering flowers. He was in the Stock Show band for 45 years until the final live stock show band performance. He also played for the cicus whenever they were in town. In his retirement, he worked at the airport and at the Rocky Mountain News. Earl and Della moved to The Retreat at Church Ranch where they lived for 2 years. Earl lived at Colorado Lutheran Home in Arvada and played the clarinet with a piano accompanist in the lobby every Wednesday. He played in a clarinet quartet with Glenn McGlathery, Kirk Prichard, and Don Gustafson every Tuesday morning. He liked to watch ball games and visit with folks. He was always so cheerful and positive. He never complained. Dad's philosophy is, "Live Happy every day and not to let anything ruin your day."

Earl is survived by his 10 children, Ben Bashford and his wife Geri, Joseph Bashford and his wife Lisa, Patrick Bashford and his wife Jenny, William "Bill" Bashford and his wife Patti, Robert Bashford and his wife Jamie, Charles Bashford and his wife Stephanie, Julie Collier and her husband Scott, Lori Miller and her husband Kalon, Jennifer Valdez and her husband James, Carolyn Bashford; 37 grandchildren, Nathan Wood, Christina Kauffman and her husband Travis, Chelsea Bashford, Vincent Bashford, Nicolas Collier, Derek Miller, Jamie De Leon and her husband Fernando, Amy Bashford, Sarah Buckley and her husband Jared, Rachel Dahm and her husband Jeremy, Justina Johnson and her husband Cole, Luke Bashford, Kasey Doak and her husband Nathan, Andrew Bashford, Logan Bashford, Kristen Bashford, Kendra Petri and her husband Elliott, Lacey Bashford, Kaitlin Bashford, David Bashford, Jordan Valdez his wife Jysikka, Jackline Valdez, Kori Miller, Danielle Sheehan, Kaylee Vasquez, Samuel Sheehan, Maggie Bashford, Dominic Bashford, Allison Bashford, Nick Vasquez, Isabella Bashford, Lucy Bashford, Angelina Bashford, Jonathan Bashford, Hayden Bashford, Matteo Bashford, Luca Bashford; great-grandchildren, James Buckley, Miles Doak, Adelaide Kauffman, Jensen Buckley.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 starting at 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM at Horan & McConaty, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. The Funeral Service will held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Arvada Presbyterian Church, 5592 Independence Street, Arvada, Colorado. The Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Service at Arvada Cemetery, 5581 Independence Street, Arvada.

Bruce Edward Bashford, 84 of Cocoa Beach, FL, passed away on Friday January 4, 2013. He was born in Wray, Colorado September 20, 1928, grew up in Wray, and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he met Barbara Lines, who would become his wife of 56 years. Bruce and Barbara came to Cocoa Beach in 1959 where he worked as an engineer at the Space Center. He was active in community organizations including Friends of the Cocoa Beach Library and several barbershop quartet groups. His job took Bruce and Barbara away from Cocoa Beach for a number of years, but they returned upon his retirement to the home that they built here. Bruce is survived by his children, Don and June; and grandchildren, Steven, David and Bert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UNICEF or to Cocoa Beach Community Church. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Cocoa Beach Community Church.


Ronald Lee Bashford, age 87, of Kennett Square, PA passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Wendy Willett Bashford with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.
Ronald was born in Wray, Colorado, son of Walter M. and Viola Basquin Bashford. He graduated from Wray High School and the University of Colorado and was a Chemical Engineer with the DuPont Company for 41 years in Delaware, New Jersey and Texas, retiring in 1991.
In his spare time he played the clarinet with the DuPont Orchestra and the Arden Singers, and sailed his flat bottomed cat boat in the North East River and beyond. He enjoyed doing all sorts of projects with family and friends. He could and did fix anything!
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Earl Bashford and his wife Della of Denver, CO and Bruce Bashford and his wife Barbara of Cocoa Beach, FL, and by a sister-in-law, Patricia Bashford of Newburyport, MA. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews. His Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM December 29, 2009 at the Kuzo &Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA. Burial will be private.


GEORGE
George Lanton Bashford registered for WWI with a Haigler address, born Nov 25, 1899, working for his father farming.
He married Villa Van Auken in Wray in 1926 - she was born January 4, 1904 in Scotland County, Missouri.
In 1946 Boulder, Geo L (Villa L.) is a painting contractor, living at 2426 Pine. So does Craig E. , a driver.
George (Villa) is a bricklayer in 1956 Boulder, living at 3011 Broadway.

Their son Craig E. Bashford - Nov 15, 1927-May 30, 1947 was to be buried in Boulder - Green Mountain Cemetery. George applied for the headstone in 1947, with an address of Route 2, Longmont.
Another son Wayne Franklin Bashford born at Boulder April 3, 1935, died July 5, 1963.
Daughter Vera Fay born March 26, 1940 at Cantrill, Iowa, married Raymond Newton Welch in Iowa, and died February 17, 1991 at Benkelman.

LEONARD

Per one tree, Leonard was born March 6, 1901, died October 15, 1983
He married Agnes May Getman 1926 in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, and they had Leonard Jay Bashford 1925 in Colorado, (graduating from Kit Carson High School in 1943, dying July 19, 1992 in Loveland(He was in Yuma County with Ray, Loyd, and father Martin in 1940.
In 1942 he married Elsie Lucille Silkett (1918-2001) in St. Francis, Kansas.
Leonard 1902-1983 is buried in Kit Carson Colorado # 35010858, which says he had two wives (Agnes May (Getman) White 1903-1966 and Elsie Lucille (Silkett( Bashford 1918-2001. Buried in Boulder, # 93775735 says "Daughter of Marquis Wilson and Emma Frances Haggard Silkett. She married Leonard J. Bashford Oct. 22, 1942, in St. Francis, Kan. They moved to Loveland from Benkelman, Neb., in 1952. "

Albert Edward Bashford, born Dec 9, 1905, died Nov 11, 1970 at Loveland.
In 1946 Boulder, Albert E. (Gladys A) is a building contractor, living at 2801 3rd.
In 1956 Boulder, Albert and Gladys manage the El Rancho Hansen Motel at 3012 Arapahoe.
GUY
Guy Richard Bashford born Oct 6, 1908, married Ina Goddard, born about 1916 in Nebraska, and they're in Boulder in 1940, where he's a road laborer. They have Lois 1.
In 1946 Boulder, Guy R. (Ina F) is a painter-contractor, living at 2003 Arapahoe.
Guy died December 6, 1981 in Imperial County, California. Ina Floy Bashford born Mar 1, 1916, died feb 8, 2007, last residence Bakersfield, California.


RAY
Ray Everett Bashford born April 12, 1911, died June 14, 1978.
One tree said he was an Army cook, in the Phillipines with General MacArthur in WWII,
Ray married Charlotte Faye Roberts, born Dec 15, 1922 at Benkelman, Nebraska to Charles F. Roberts and Martha Johnson. She died January 26, 1995 under the name of Hamper.

NELLIE
Nellie Junita (Bashford) Melvin born Sept 5, 1914, died Jun 15, 1997 in Boulder, and is buried there # 11110068.
James Woodward Melvin married Nellie Junia Bashford April 27, 1936, recorded in Adams County, Colorado.

In 1940 Boulder, James is a farm laborer, 28, Nellie 25, both born in Colorado, and they have Mary 3, Ray 1, and Jack nine months.
In 1956 Boulder James W. Melvin was a construction worker, and they lived at 932 Walnut with Mary E. , a student.

One son, Jack Lee Melvin 1939-1987 is buried in Louisville, Colorado # 81911717.

LOYD

Loyd Eugene Bashford born July 6, 1920, died January 20, 1956 in San Dieog County, California.
Loyd is buried in San Diego County # 88333094, and so is his wife Oma Rugh (Goddard)(Bashford) Anderson.
