Allen and Sarah (Workman) Smith, son John W. and Mary Susan (Cox) Smith, daughter Josephine (Smith) Hildreth, 1 South 43 West
John Butler Workman born 1815 in Kentucky, married Kathern Roberts, then Martha Ann Roberts. He died 1895 and is buried with Martha in Fillmore County, Nebraska # 38686258.Greeley, Colorado January 1, 1954 "Mr. T. W. Smith died Thursday at Weld County General Hospital. He had been a patient there. Mr. Smith came to Greeley last July to be with his daughter. Born July 4, 1880 at Exeter, Neb., he lived at Scottsbluff, Neb. 20 years and the past three years at Maywood. Calif. He was a member of IOOF lodge at Wray for nearly SO years. Mr. Smith was an ardent fisherman. He and his wife, who were married Dec. 17, 1902, celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary last year. Besides his daughter. Mrs. Knott, the former Jere Smith, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olive Pearl Smith of Maywood, Calif.; two sons and two other daughters : Ralph A. Smith and Mrs. Ethel Perry, both of Maywood, Calif; Thomas W. Smith, Jr., of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Mrs. Stella Mintken of Pine Bluffs, Wyo. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister, Mrs. Mary Renzelman, Orville and Jess Smith, all of Wray; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Lockwood Funeral home at Wray, with interment at Wray." |
John proved up a quarter in 20, 1S 43W in 1902 - his land was next to the John Long cemetery .
1904 Wray "J.F. Haskins, of Benkelman, was in town Tuesday visiting Harry Cox and John Smith and taking in the Wild West Show."
In 1910 Yuma County "on the Idalia road" John W. is 41, married 15 years to Susie, 34, both born Illinois. Clarence 10 and Ernest 3 were both born in Colorado.

In 1920 all four are still there.
John W. Smith 1868-1927 is buried in Wray, # 81705423, with Mary S. Smith 1875-1920 # 81706218.
In 1930 Los Angeles Ernest A. Smith is 23, a laborer working on tires, lodging with the widow Ione P. Davis.
Ernest A. Smith is a construction inspector in Maricopa County Arizona in 1940, 33, born in Colorado, living alone
