In 1922 Dalrymple & Quillen purchased the Wray Laundry from Mr. John Penton.
J. W. Weller, better known in this community where he has resided for years as Grandpa Weller, died last evening of ailments incident to old age. Mr. Weller has been confined to his bed at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lewis, in the south part of town, for the most part of the summer.
The funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church tomorrow afternoon. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
J. W. Weller was born in Morgan County, Ohio, March 3, 1825, and died in Wray at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. J. Lewis, October 4, 1907. He was married to Mrs. Leah Pletcher in 1849 and removed to Iowa in 1868 and thence to Colorado in 1888.
His wife and four children (of seven born to them) survive him; Mrs. S. J. Lewis of Wray, W. J. Weller of Wray, Mrs. W. H. Penton of Idalia and Mrs. B. E. Lewis of Watkins.
He was a faithful member of the M. E. Church. His life counted for righteousness."

"Margaret Jeanette Ulrich of Sterling died Sunday, July 1996. She was 75. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm today at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling. She was born Margaret Jeanette Cumley on April 14, 1921 in Wray (Yuma County). Mrs. Ulrich was a resident of Arvada until retirement. Sh enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; a son Jack, Sterling; a daughter, Sandy Johnson, New Hope, Minn; a brother, Melvin of Greeley, a sister Doris McKinstery, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In 1946 Greeley, Dewey works for Cheyenne Oil Refinery. He and Elsie, with Ronald and Shirley both students, live at 1119 12th Street.

Elsie Penton, 97, of Greeley, died Saturday, May 31, 1997, at her home.
Mrs Penton was born April 15, 1900 to John (sic) Allen and Susan (Kelly) Baugh at Unionville, MO. She married Frank Dewey Penton on Feb. 17, 1918, in Wray. He died March 19, 1975.
She came by covered wagon from Missouri to Newcastle, Wyo., and then to Wray in 1902. She then moved to Greeley in 1928 and had lived here since.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amico Club and Sunshine Group of the First Baptist Church Merry Circle.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Merle M Holstin of Fernley, Nevada, Phyllis Gettman and Shirley Flohr, both of Greeley, and Charlene Wares of Fort Collins; one son, Ronald D. Penton of Loveland; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Adamson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday adn 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Elevator Fund through Adamson Mortuary.
Merle M. (Penton) Holstin # 92027529 is buried in Fallon, Nevada 1918-2003, with Floyd C. Holstin 1915-1992.
"Barry Dean Holstin, age 66, passed away on April 24, 2009 in Fernley, NV. Barry was born May 19, 1942 in Greeley, CO to Floyd Clayton and Merle Penton Holstin and had been a Fernley resident for 28 years. He was a painter for 45 years and had owned Fernley Painting. He met his wife Carol when he was 16 years old and she was 14. They were married for 49 years. They have five children: Diana Ceresola, Debbie Holstin, Darla Henson, Clate Holstin and Michael Holstin. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Wolfe; sister- in-law, Patty Holstin; brother, and sister-in-law, Emmett and Glenna Madrid and Robin Shindall; 18 grand- children and 15 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby."

"Edward DeWayne Flohr, 61, of Greeley, CO died April 7, 2012 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Ed was born January 4, 1951 in Greeley to Robert and Shirley (Penton) Flohr. He graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1969 and went on to earn a degree in business from the University of Northern Colorado in 1974. Ed worked with his father as a painter in the family business, Flohr Painting and Decorating, and continued on in the business after his father’s retirement. Spring was Ed’s favorite time of the year as it opened the door to his favorite pastime, working in his flower gardens. He also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, fishing and camping, playing the piano and organ, listening to polka music, and telling jokes. Ed was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Greeley. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and son, and as a loyal friend.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sharon Flohr; daughter, Lindsey Flohr and special friend, Bryon Urbanec; mother, Shirley Flohr; sister, Carla Dusin and husband Darrell; mother-in-law, Alice Hoffner; brother-in-law, Donn Leffler and wife Suzanne; nieces, Kelly Whitney and husband Zac, and Kyle Dusin and special friend Matt Lancaster; and great nieces, Makenna and Brinley Whitney all of Greeley. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Ed was preceded in death by his father, fathers-in-law, and a son, Ross Flohr.
Services include, Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Adamson Chapel; Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 1091 10th Avenue, Greeley followed by interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

"Ronald "Ron" Penton, Sr., 86, of Loveland passed away on February 27, 2015. Ron was born on July 9, 1928 in Greeley, CO. to Frank D. and Elsie (Baugh) Penton. He lived in Colorado his entire life. Ron married Marcella Kelle on May 19, 1951 in Yuma, AZ. He served in the US Navy for 4 years. Ron worked for AT&T for over 35 years. Ron is survived by his wife, Marcella of Loveland; son Ron (Gwen) Penton, Jr. of New Mexico; daughter Sandy (George) Brill of Loveland; sisters Phylis Gettman and Shirley Flohr of Greeley; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren."
"Mindy Jo Bristow was born Jan. 1, 1979, to Linda Kay Penton and Gerald James Bristow in Yuma, Colo. She passed away on April 27, 2013, at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Mindy attended Yuma elementary and middle school and Greeley Central High School. Mindy always enjoyed spending time with her friends and family; and time at Lake Powell.
Mindy is survived by her son, Jeremiah Rhett and daughter, Alexis Nicole; her fiancé , James Gutierrez; her mother, Linda; brothers, Aaron Waitman and his wife Amy, and Kyle Penton; her sister, Kimberly Penton; her nephews, Gage, Coleson and Walker; her nieces, Keeli and Aubrey; her grandparents, Norma and George Saiter; her stepmother, Nyla; her aunt, Cathy Bushner; her uncles, Gale Lambert, Joe Lambert and Larry Bristow; her cousins, Shelia Stark, Dana Bushner, Rob Bushner, Evangeline Lambert and Hannah Lambert.
Mindy was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Bristow; her grandparents, Beryl and Delores Lambert; and her grandfather, Dale Bristow. She will be greatly missed.
The graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, Colo., with Pastor Glen Kline officiating. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
