Mr. Enos Weed, who has been lying sick with grippe and pneumonia for three months, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O. A. Quirk, in north Clarinda, died at eleven o'clock yesterday. Funeral services will be held from the home on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. IlgenFritz. Interment iu the Clarinda cemetery.
Mr. Weed was born in Rodman, Jefferson county, N. Y., on December 24, 1821. In September of 1837 he removed with his father's family to LaPorte, Ind., and on October 3, 1845, he was married to Miss Martha Jane Wait, in Rodman, W. Y. He lived in LaPorte until 1893, when he removed with his family to South Bend, Ind., and in August of 1894 he and his wife came to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Quirk, of this city, and another daughter, Mrs. Easton, of Coin. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Weed. Everett D. died in Eudora, Kas., 1894, Edward B. is still living at LaPorte, Mrs. Nettie A. Quirk in this city, and Mrs. Mariette A. Easton at Coin. Mr. Weed was a faithful member of the M. E. church for years, and at the time of his death was a member of the church at Coin. In the death of Mr. Weed Page County loses an excellent citizen, and his family lose a faithful and loving husband and father. His wife and children have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Apr 13, 1900
Mr. Enos Weed died April 15, 1900, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. A. Quirk, in north Clarinda, after a long siege of pneumonia, at the advanced age of 78 years, 3 months and 11 days. Mr. Weed was born in Rodman, Jefferson county, N. Y., and in 1837 removed to LaPorte. Ind., and later to South Bend, Ind. In 1893 the family removed to this city where they have since resided. Mr. Weed was a devout member of the M. E. church, an honorable and upright man, and respected by all who knew him. The funeral took place Saturday at 2 p. m., conducted by Rev. IlgenFritz. 1902 "C. A. Quirk of Clarenda, Iowa, stopped off and chatted with Yuma people this week. He left here about twelve years ago but time has not changed his looks or actions in the least; the same jolly Quirk."

1906

February 1907 "C. A. Quirk is arranging to make his home in Yuma."

April 1909 "Mr. and Mrs. Quirk are stopping at the home of their niece,Mrs. Frank Jewett. (Should be FRED)."


In 1910 Page County, Charles A. "Kirk" 61 is a real estate salesman, Nettie E. Kirk 59 Wife, and Martha J. Weed 89 Mother-in-law.

September 1911 "C. A. Quirk, of Clarihda, Iowa, came in last week to look after his land interests in Yuma county. Mr. Quirk was a resident of this vicinity many years ago, having left here in 1889, but during the whole time he has kept in touch with Yuma county, reading the Pioneer each week. He informs us that he expects to buy property and return to Yuma to live. Mr. Quirk says crops are very good around Clarinda this year."

October 1911 Fort Collins "C. A. Quirk of Clarinda, Ia., has been looking over the country in this locality with a view of exchange for Iowa property or dry land in Yuma county, Colorado."

August 1913 "C. A. Quirk and wife, of Clarinda, Iowa, who had been up in the mountains, visited in Akron last Friday. Mr. Quirk was a pioneer resident, having resided south of Yuma in an early day, and at the same time a holder of some Washington county land, and he manages to get out this way every year or so to look after land he still owns. The present Campbell farm, six miles east of town, was once owned by Mr. Quirk, he purchasing the same of August Muntzing twelve years ago for $125. Mr. Quirk informed us that he held the place three years and sold it for $1050. It probably couldn't be purchased now for less than six or seven times the latter figure.
Akron News.

November 1917 " Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Quirk of Clarinda, Iowa, arrived in Julesburg last Saturday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wagner. Mrs. Quirk is an aunt of Mrs. Wagner."
