December 1905 Yuma "Glen Burrows got a severe shaking up by a horse falling with him last Tuesday. While he feels pretty sore, his injuries are not serious."

February 1906

March 1906 "Glenn Burrows moved onto his homestead last week where he has everything fixed up in very comfortable shape, but says he is shy a cook; Glenn is a good boy and it's a shame he can't find some one who would be willing to share his joys and sorrows through this brief yale of tears. He's got a good piece of land, well stocked and it's dollars to doughnuts the house won't be empty long. If he can't find one to suit in Yuma county, he's mighty hard to suit, that's all."

November 1923 "Mrs. Mary Freelove and daughters, Mrs. Glen Burrows and Mrs. L. M. Beckwith, were called to Kenebec, South Dakota, by the sudden death of their son and brother, a man who was one of the leading candidates for governor in that state."

Glenn Burrows married Lynette Freelove on 18 Mar 1908 in Yuma County.


December 1908 "Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Glen Burrows had the pleasure of entertaining some of their friends at their home after first giving them a delightful sleigh ride from town."

March 1909 "The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Burrows is reported on the road to recovery from a sick spell."

In 1910 Yuma County " Glynn" Burrows is farming, 29, born in Ohio, Lynett Burrows 27 Wife, and Beatrice B. Burrows 2 Daughter.

November 1910 Yuma " Glen Burrows has a fine bunch of corn to gather."

June 1912 "Mrs. Geo. Dowler and Mrs. G. F. Burrows left Wednesday afternoon for Victor, Iowa, where they went to attend the funeral of their sister, Mrs. Geo. Kempf. Mrs. Kempf died at her home in Milwaukee Tuesday afternoon, and the remains were taken to Iowa for burial."

Glenn Burrows proved up a quarter in section 6, 1N 48W in 1912.
" Claimant names as witnesses: Arthur E. Shea, Burr Gardner, Frank Boren and James Peterson, all of Yuma, Colorado."

January 1913 "Glen Burrows will give a dance at Cole's opera house Friday, Jan. 24th. The admission will be 50c for gents, ladies free. A dance that everybody can enjoy."

April 1914 "Albert Burrows, of Casper, Wyoming, arrived the first of the week, and is a guest at the home of his nephew, Glenn Burrows."

Glenn, Lynette, and Beatrix are ranching in Yuma County in 1920, and in 1930 Glenn Burrows is 49, Lynette Burrows 44 Wife, Beatrix Burrows 21 Daughter, and Mary Freelove 80 Mother-in-law.

December 1938 "Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Freelove of Kenebeck, South Dakota, came Saturday to visit the former's mother, Mrs. Mary Freelove at the GLenn BUrrows home. The mother has been quite ill for several weeks."

April 11, 1946 "Glen Burrows, deputy sheriff of Yuma, died Monday evening in the Yuma Community hospital. Mr. Burrows had been taken to the hospital following a heart attack, it was said. Mr. Burrows was a half-brother of County Commissioner H. W. Jackson. He had served as Yuma town marshal before being appointed deputy sheriff."
"A daughter, Bea Burrows, teaches in the Yuma schools."
