Emma A. Donovan Smith BIRTH 17 Aug 1888 York, York County, Nebraska, DEATH 8 Jun 1910 Yuma County, Colorado, BURIAL Grandview Cemetery Wray, Yuma County, Colorado, MEMORIAL ID 81703881.
"Emma A., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Donovan, was born at York, Nebraska, August 17, 1888 and died at her home near Vernon, Colorado, the evening of June 8, 1910. In 1891 she removed with her parents to Yuma county, Colorado, where she resided until her marriage to Clark D. Smith, which occurred at Golden, Colorado, January 29, 1906.
Soon after her marriage she and her husband moved to their ranch 23 miles southwest of Wray, where she resided until her death.
She das the mother of two children, Clark Kaymond, aged three, and Emma Alma, aged two years. These now are motherless children, together with a husband, a father and mother and six brothers and four sisters survive her.
The illness that caused her death was but of a month's duration. Several days before she died she realized that she must go and talked with the members of the family about her departure, and made it known that she had no fear of death. Her father and mother arrived from Cheney, Washington, the morning before her death.
She was a most lovable wife and mother, hard working and industrious, always ready to do gladly any sacrificial service in the interest of her family and those about her. She was a woman of laudable ambition for the interests of her family, and with her husband had laid fond plans for the future. But He who sees and understands so much better than we has seen fit to change those plans, and we submit to Him as one, who, loving us with an everlasting love, doeth all thing well.
The funeral service was held at the Methodist church in Wray, in charge of Rev. G. Rulison. A large audience of sympathizing neighbors and friends attended the service. The pall bearers were six young ladies who had been intimate friends of the deceased. A large procession of carriages followed the remains to their last resting place in Grand View Cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved ones."

Mr. Donovan stepped toward the rear of the truck to direct his son where to back the machine, apparently slipped In the loose dirt and fell under the rear wheel.
