January 30, 1908 "Comrade David Criswell, a former resident of this county, but more recently of Granite Falls, Washm, died at that place Sunday, January 12, 1908, of typhoid pneumonia, and was buried in the Grand Army Cemetery at Snohomish, Wash., Tuesday, January 14th.
Mr. Criswell was born in Venango county, Pa., June 8, 1841, and at the time of his death was 66 years, 7 months, and 4 days old. At the beginning of the War of the Rebellion he enlisted in the 107th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, and served until the close of the war, being released by that event from a four and a half months confinement in rebel prisons. After the war he removed to Fremont county, Iowa, and April 16, 1874, he was married to Paula M. Gaylord near Tabor, Iowa. Five sons and one daughter were born to this union, all being present with their mother at his bedside at the time of his death except R. L. Criswell, who lives near this city.
He moved to Rawlins county March, 1885, first settling on a homestead ten miles north of Atwood, moving in the spring of 1892 to Burntwood township, where he lived with his family until 1902, when he removed to Granite Falls, where he died. He was a devoted...z
He leaves a widow, one daughter, Miss Grace Criswell, and four sons, Robert, Cloyd, Marsh and Walter, living in Granite Falls, and Len who lives in Celia township."

Cloyde proved up 80 acres in 1, 1N 45W and 200 acres in 6, 44W in 1913, then another 80 acres in 1914.

In 1914 Lon Criswell was delinquent on taxes for improvements only in the nw of 5, 4N 42W, owing $1.77.

Royal proved up land in townships 4N 42W and 5N 42W in 1916.

In 1920 Rawlins County, Kansas, Lenard Creswell is farming, 43, Maud E. Creswell 32 Wife, Bernard S. Creswell 12 Son, Oliver G. Creswell 9 Son, both born in Kansas, Mabel G. Creswell 7 Daughter, the only child born in Colorado, Othmer T. Creswell 5 Son, Ola E. Creswell 3 Daughter, and Jula E. Creswell 1 Daughter, all three born in Nebraska.

"Funeral services were at 2 PM Tuesday for Royal L. Chriswell of Westfir at the Poole Larsen Chapel in Eugene. Rev. Lucille Johnson, pastor of the William __ette City Church of God, conducted the servides. Interment was at the Lane Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Criswell who resided on Star Route, Westfir, OR, passed a way in the Eugene hospital Thursday, Octomber 6, 1955, following a brief illness. He was 78 years of age.
Royal L. Criswell was born Nov. 3, 1876, at Sidney, Iowa, and had made his home at Westfir for the past several years. He was married Sept. 30, 1906, in Atwood, Kansas.
Besides his wife, Maude, he is survived by two sones, Bernard of Westfir and Oliver of Ahaska, Idaho; five daughters, Mabel Pacula of Ashland Neb., Ola Drew of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Julia Long of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Viola Rogers, of Lewellen, Neb., and Leta Gillett of Prineville, Ore.; 23 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and one brother, Marshall Criswell of Everett, Wash."

" Was born in Paxton, Nebraska, in the Sand Hills to Royal Leonard Criswell & Maud Elizabeth (Gordon) Criswell on July 3, 1916. She attended Atwood, Kansas school 1st & 2nd grade. Then went to Rosedale, Nebraska & Glenacle, Nebraska, through grade school. High school Paxton, three years last year Marcola, Oregon. Was married to Steve Leon Drew on September 10, 1938. Lives at Coos Bay, Oregon, Marcola, & South Myrtle, Oregon then moved to Azalea, Oregon in September 1958, then Glendale, Oregon, in January 1, 1990, close to Forest & Brance store. Moved to Forest Glen Senior Residence on March 15, 2006, in Canyonville, Oregon. Attended Azalea Community Church. And spent the last months of her life with her family. Ola is survived by children, Alfred Reid Drew; Edward Wayne Drew and Barbara Ann (Drew) Butterfield; brothers, Bernard Sylace Criswell; Oliver Gaylord (Bob) Criswell; Othmer Thomas (Bud) Criswell; sisters, Mabel Grace (Criswell) Pacula; Julia Madaline (Criswell) Gillett; Viola Lula (Criswell) Rogers; Leta Evelyn (Criswell) Gillett; 11 nieces and 19 nephews. 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ola had been involved with quilting for many years and really enjoyed it. Services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, October, 16, 2006, at the Azalea Community Church. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., at the Roseburg National Cemetery with her husband, Steve Drew. "
