June 1933 " Mrs. L. E. Barger of Denver visited in Wray a short time the latter part of
last week. Mrs. Barger was stopping with her sister. Mrs. John Clark of west of Wray.
She was returning from a two weeks visit with her mother, Mrs. Rozell of McCook."
"Amanda L. Sprague was born August 4, 1859 at Clarington, 0h.,
daughter of Mary and William Sprague. She died at McCook, Neb.,
April 3, 1937, following an illness of 10 days, at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Addams at the age of 77 years, seven months and 29 days.
She spent her youth in Clarington and at an early age united with the
Christian church. On October 4, 1878, she was married to Wesley M. Rozell.
They resided in Ohio until 1885, when they moved to Red Willow County
and homesteaded in Coleman precinct.
To this union eight children were born: Clarence W. Rozell,
Mrs. Lulu Barger, both of Denver;
Mrs. Minta Gordon, Mrs. Mary Addams, Mrs. Ethel Brown, all of McCook;
Mrs. Lucy Clark, Wray, Colo.; Mrs. Gladys Lundberg, Council Bluffs, Ia.;
one son: Ralph, preceeded her in death in 1921.
The family resided on the farm until 1907, when they moved to
McCook, and made their home at 609 East First street for many years.
After the death of Mr. Rozell in 1929, Mrs. Rozell made her home with
her children. After moving to town, Mr. Rozell was engaged in the
clothing business, and he and his wife were prominently connected
with civic, church and social affairs. They were affiliated with the
First Baptist Church. Mrs. Rozell was always considerate of others, and her many acts of kindness to those in sorrow, or in unfortunate circumstances, was done in a quiet unassuming manner and many of these kind deeds were known only to those she aided. Surviving are the seven children. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock in the First Baptist church with Rev. Herbert M. Richmond officiating, assisted by Rev. Utterback. Burial was in Memorial Park."
November 14, 1940 "Mrs. Ethel Brown, 42, of McCook, passed away Friday morning following an illness of about one year. Mrs. Brown had lived in Cambridge and McCook all her life. Funeral services w'ere held Sunday at two o'clock at the First Congregational church in McCook. The remains will rest in Memorial Park cemetery 1 : Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband Hugh Brown,- by one brother Clarence Rozell of Denver and by five sisters Mrs. Mary Adams and Mrs. Minta Gordon of McCook, Nebraska, Mrs. Lucy Clark of Wray, Mrs. Gladys Lundberg of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Lola Barger of Denver."

John registered for WWI in Wray, born May 10, 1887 at Medicine Lodge,
Kansas, farming near Eckley with a wife and two children.
April 24, 1919 "Mrs. L. E. Barger and son, Theodore, and Mr. and Mrs.
John Clark of Wray were passengers last Wednesday evening to McCook, Neb.
They went down to attend the wedding of Miss Ethel Rozell and Hugh Brown,
both of McCook. Mrs. Brown had been in Wray during the summers of
the last few years and visited her sisters Mrs. Barger and Mrs. Clark.
The many Wray friends of the newlyweds offer heartiest congratulations."
June 1936 "Mrs. John Clark enjoyed a visit with her brother,
C. W. Rozell of Denver. Mr. Rozell came Wednesday and remained until
Saturday.
J. E. Kimber, Ralph Johnston and Gene Cruse were guests
Wednesday at the John Clark home.
Mrs. Rozell from McCook came Tuesday and is visiting her daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Clark."

"An invalidism of ten years came to an end Thursday for
Mrs. John C. Clark when she died at her home west of Wray. Her death came on
her fiftieth wedding anniversary. Funeral services for Mrs. Clark were held
at the Christian Church in Wray on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock,
followed by interment at Grandview cemetery.
The Rev. Earl R. Saladen officiated at the rites.
Lucy Amanda, the fifth child of Wesley and Amanda Rozell, was born on a
farm 12 miles northwest of McCook, Neb., on October 10, 1887.
She died November 7, 1957, at Wray at the age of 70 years and 27 days.
She grew to young womanhood in her home community, attending grade and high
school at McCook. She was a member of the Baptist church.
In 1907 she was united in marriage to John Campbell Clark of McCook.
On June 14, 1909, a son, Harold Ralph, was born. In 1910 the family moved
to a homestead nine miles west of Wray, where the second son, Byron Bruce,
was born, and where they continued their residence until her death.
Mrs. Clark joined the Christian church at Wray and was an active and
sincere member until ten years ago, when illness prevented her continued
attendance and active participation.
Three brothers, Willie, Clarence and Ralph, and one sister,
Ethel Brown, preceded Mrs. Clark in death.
Surviving her are her husband, John; two sons, Ralph and Byron;
five grandchildren and five great grandchildren;
four sisters, Lulu Barger, Gladys Lundberg and Mary Addams of Lincoln, Neb.
, and Mintie Gordon of McCook, Neb."

August 14, 1930 "Miss Sarah Elizabeth Jones and Mr. Ralph H. Clark, popular Wray young people, announced their marriage which occured in Denver on June Ist, on Sunday of this week. The marriage was a culmination of a courtship that began in high school days, and news of the wedding came as a surprise to the young couple's many friends. Mrs. Clark is a daughter of Mr. Wilford Jones of near Vernon. For many years she has made her home with her aunt, Mrs. Fred Parshall In Wray. She graduated from the local high school with the class of 1928, and is now engaged as bookkeeper at the Model Garage in Wray. Mrs. Clark is a charming young lady with a host of friends. Mr. Clark is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Clark of west of Wray. He attended high school in Wray and, like his bride, is very popular with the younger set here. At present he is associated with his father on the ranch west of town. Mr. and Mrs. Clark plan to make their home in Wray. The Gazette wishes to join with the many friends of this estimable couple in wishing them success and happiness."

July 1951 "The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bader was the setting for the pretty wedding of
their daughter, Margaret Joan, and Leßoy Clark Friday evening,
with only members of the immediate families present. Dr. J. Reade McCrory, pastor of the
United Presbyterian church in Loveland, read the double ring service at eight 1 o'clock.
Baskets of peonies and roses, in pink and white, were used as decorations. The tapers in the seven branched candelabra were lighted ¦ by Mrs. Robert Hougland and Mrs. Orville Riddle, sisters of the bride. Mrs. C. A. Heller, another sister, played the wedding marches and was accompanist for Don , Klitzke who sang “Because” and “Thine Alone.” The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white summer suit with navy accessories and a j white and navy hat. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink and white carnations. Miss Aline Hurlburt of Akron and John Creighton of Flagler, close friends of the couple at Colorado University, were attendants. Miss Hurlburt wore a suit of ; dusty rose with a white hat and I accessories and a corsage of j white carnations. Assisting at the reception which followed Mrs. Russell Covey of Denver, another sister, and Mrs. Eldon Bader assisted. Later the bride and groom left on a short honeymoon trip to the mountains. Upon their return they will live in Loveland for the summer while he is employed in reclamation work. They will return to Boulder in the fall when Mr. Clark resumes his studies as a junior at the university. Mrs. Clark was graduated from the Loveland high school in '5O and attended CU last year. Mr. Clark is also a Loveland high school granduate and has since attended the university. He is the son of Mrs. C. A. Starman of and Ralph Clark of Wray and a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Clark of Wray. An aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Parshall, were among the guests at the wedding and reception. "
July 27, 1960 "Charles A. Starman, 83, of 825 West Seventh Street in Loveland,
died Tuesday afternoon at the Loveland Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The retired railroad engineer was born Dec. 10, 1876, at Quincy, I11, snd on June 6,
1940 married Elizabeth Jones Clark at Chappell, Neb. Mr. Starman served as an engineer for
the Burlington Railroad, working out of Bridgeport, Neb., Denver, and Sterling.
He retired in 1943 after 46 years of service and moved to Loveland.
He was a member of the Fust Methodist Church in Loveland.
Mr. Starman's survivors
include his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Jean Adcock of Denver, three sons,
Robert of Loveland and Donald Starman of San Jose, Calif., and Leroy Clark of Juneau,
Alaska, two brothers, George and William of Quincy, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at Hunter’s Funeral Home in Loveland,
with burial at Bridgeport, Nebtaska."

the serious illness of her parent.
Funeral services for Mrs. Black were held at Las Vegas on Tuesday of this week."

March 1948 "Mrs. Mary Addams drove up from McCook, Nebraska, Sunday P. M. and visited with Mr. and Mrs. John C. Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Clark and son Michael."
June 1948 "A quiet but impressive wedding occurred Sunday, June 6th when Mrs. Junie Visor of Las Vegas, Nevada became the bride of James Carson of this city. The ceremony was performed by Rev. R. E. Kinsell at the Christian Church at 3 p. nt. The bride was most attractive in a frock of black silk with white accessories. She wore a bridal corsage of red roses and stephanotis. Mrs. Ralph Clark, matron of honor, wore a yellow linen two piece suit and a corsage of peach rose buds- The groom and his attendant, Paul Carson wore conventional dark suits|. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. Gail Carson, parents of the groom and Mr. Ralph Clark. The newlyweds spent a two-day honeymoon in Devner and have now returned to this city where they are making their home. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Milan Black of Las Vegas, Nevada. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Carson, was born and raised in this community. Jim served his country for several years with the Merchant Marine in World War II and has a host of friends here.

"She was born in Wray, Yuma, Colorado to Victor Earl Willis and Ethel Belle Hampton Willis where she was raised.
She married Byron Bruce Clark Jun 12, 1932
in Wray, Yuma, Colorado. They had two children Patsy Jean Clark and Bruce Clark. Later they moved to Las Vegas where they lived in 1940. They were later divorced.
She married Mr. Jay Hadlock in Nevada in about 1942. They lived in Baker, California where Jay operated a Service Station, Cafe, and Motel business. They had one son Dick Hadlock.
Jay died in a tragic circumstance in 1953 in Las Vegas, NV
Jeanette continued to own and operate those properties and businesses in Baker, California for many more years.
Later Jeanette married Ervin DeEarl Howard a Baker resident whom she had once known at La Junta High School in la Junta, Colorado. They first lived in Las Vegas in 1957 and then in Baker, California. Mr. Howard died in about 1958.
Later she married Lloyd Metheny (also Metheney) July 9, 1960 who also lived in Baker, California and they operated Lloyd's Cafe there for several years. Mr. Metheny died May 9, 1970."

Barbara Ann Clark was born 11 Apr 1955 in Caldwell, Texas, to Byron Leroy Clark
and Margaret Joan Bader.
Barbara Clark Doke, 33, died Thursday, June 16, 1988 at her residence in Reno, Nevada.
A native of San Marcos, Texas, she was born April 11, 1955, and was a Carson City resident
for the past 20 years, coming from California. She was employed by the Public Employee
Retirement System of Nevada for the past 10 years. She was the past president of Sagens,
Youth Bowling, Parent Teacher's Association, the Cub Scouts, Little League baseball
and Adult Bowling.
Surviving are her husband, Richard, son, Richard Bryant II, daughter, Peggy Jean Doke,
parents, Byron and Margaret Clark, a brother, Kelly Clark, and a sister, Sue "Pudge" Howard,
all of Carson City; and grandparents, Willis and Elizabeth Cramer of Loveland, Colo.
A graveside funeral is scheduled."
" Byron Leroy Clark, 68, died Sept. 29, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
A native of Wray, Colo., he was born May 27, 1931, and had lived in Carson City for the past
31 years, coming from California. Clark owned Clark Saddlery,
a saddle-making business, for 15 years, and flew a commercial helicopter
and fixed-wing aircraft for 1 8 years. He was a 22-year member and one of the
co-founders of the Carson City Sheriffs Mounted Posse. He was also a member,
since 1982, co-founder and had served as president for two separate terms
for the Nevada Chapter of the Pony Express. He was a member of the National Pony Express
and had carried the Olympic Torch by horseback in 1996 in Nebraska.
He served in the Army as a test pilot. He received a bachelor's degree in education
from the University of Colorado in 1954.
A daughter, Barbara Doke, died in 1988; his father, Ralph Clark, also preceded him
in death.
Surviving are wife, Margaret "Peggy" (Bader); son, Kelly; daughter, Sue Howard,
all of Carson City; mother, Elizabeth Cramer; brother, Robert Starman,
both of Loveland, Colo.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson;
and several nieces and nephews. "
