In 1910 Haigler, Nebraska, William E. Buffington is farming, 49, Mary Buffington 43 Wife, Warren Buffington 20 Son, and Paul Buffington 16 Son.

February 1937 "Mary Virginia Morrison was born in Louden county, Va., on February 16, 1866, and departed this life at the home of her son, Warren Buffington near Wauneta, Nebraska, on February 22, 1937, at the age of 71 years and 6 days,
Ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Along with her parents, she moved to Kempton, Illinois, when 9 years old.
She was united in marriage to W. E. Buffington on February 14, 1883, at Pontiac, Illinois, and to this union four sons were born, namely, Frank, Jess, Warren and Paul; the latter having preceded her in death February 10, 1924. Mr. Buffington died on March 27, 1928. Mrs. Buffington was united in marriage to T. A. Eller of Stratton, Nebraska, on May 15, 1935. Hers was a useful and unselfish life. She often ministered to the sick and sorrowing, and will long be remembered for her deeds of kindness."

March 1910 Haigler items "Mrs. W. E. Buffington came to town Monday, the first time since last October. It will be remembered of her illness for several weeks. Her friends in town were glad to see her able to be among them again."

Jesse proved up two quarters in sections 30 and 31, 1N 45W in 1914.

July 1917 "Mrs. Sophia Buffington of Denver, is visiting her brother, D. A. Hendrie, and family, northwest of town, she arriving yesterday."

JESSE AND DORA

May 1918 Benkelman, Nebraska "The community was suprised and grieved by the report of the death of Mrs. Dora Buffington at noon Monday. Although she had been ill for over six months, it was not expected that the end was so near and hopes generally were entertained for her recovery.
Funeral services were conducted at the Buffington home near Haigler on Tuesday by the Rev. Frank Woodward, assisted by Rev. Dillon, and interment was made in the Pleasant Valley cemetery. Rev. Martin assisted Rev. Woodward in the services at the grave.
Deceased was well known to Dundy county people, having practicaNy been reared in this community. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Edwards, and was born in Grundy county, Iowa, February 25, 1886, and departed this life April 29th, 1918, aged 33 years, 3 months, and 4 days. She was united in marriage to J. L. Buffington March 23, 1910, and to this union was born one son, who with the husband and three children by a former marriage, the father, mother, three sisters and six brothers survive her.
The bereaved relatives and many friends have the sympathy of all in their sad loss and great bereavement."

July 1946 " Oran K. Kanode 49, Nunn, Colorado wheat farmer and veteran of World War I, died at the Weld County hospital Wednesday after a long illness... He was raised in Haigler md was graduated fro the Haigler high school with the class cf 1914. Soon after his graduation he went to Denver where he has lived since that time, except for the time he spent in the armed forces in the last war.
Mr. Kanode had farmed northeast of Nunn for many years.
He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Sarah Kanode, and by a daughter, Mrs. Clarence March of Greeley, and a son, Dale Allen Kanode of Nunn. Mr. Kanode is also survived by his father, Frank Kanode of Westmoreland, Kans., and by two brothers, Paul and Harley Kanode of Westmoreland, and five sisters: Mrs. H. B. Pollock of Nunn, Mrs. Jess Buffington of Haigler, Nebr., Mrs. Clyde Hogrefe of Crest.."

December 1941 "Mrs. Grace L. Schahrer, Carroll and Jennie of Armel called on Mrs. J. L. Buffington Sunday at Haigler, Nebraska. The latter lady is soon moving to Brush. "

February 1950 Wray hospital "Mrs. J. L. Buffington of Haigler was a patient from Friday until Tuesday."

January 1951 Wray "Mr. and Mrs. Evan Derowitsch, Sr., accompanied by the former's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Buffington of Haigler, were called to Westmoreland, Kansas, on Friday by the death of Frank Kanode, uncle of Mr. Derowitsch and father of Mrs. Buffington. Services were held on Saturday and the two couples returned home the following day. "
