Thomas Francis FLANNERY Family

1. Thomas Francis FLANNERY was born 1 Feb 1872 in New York to William and Mary (FARRELL) FLANNERY. His parents were born in Ireland.
He married 10 Dec 1893 to Sarah Catherine "Kate" BARLOW, who was born 7 May 1877 in Quebec, Canada, to parents John Ernest and Sarah (McMAHON) BARLOW. During the 1918 influenza epidemic, Thomas lost his wife and two sons, who were buried in Leadville within a period of ten days. "Kate" died 07 Nov 1918.
Thomas and Catherine (BARLOW) FLANNERY had children.

1-1. John Thomas FLANNERY was born and died on 13 Mar 1895 in Oro, Lake County, Colorado.
1-2. Francis Keath FLANNERY was born 13 Jun 1897 in Leadville, Lake County, Colorado; died 6 Sep 1898 in Leadville.
1-3. Thomas Stanley FLANNERY was born 28 Jul 1899. "Stanley" died 30 Oct 1918 in Montrose County, Colorado, from influenza.
1-4. Edward Ernest FLANNERY was born 15 Nov 1902. Edward died 09 Nov 1918 from influenza.
1-5. Florence FLANNERY was born 28 Oct 1904 in Oro, Lake County, Colorado.
She married 25 Dec 1923 in Victor, Teller County, Colorado, to Leo Joseph JONES, who was born 6 Sep 1898 in Gladstone, Clackamas County, Oregon, to Roxena Belle FLINT. Leo J. JONES died 1 Feb 1972 in Alameda County, California. Florence Regina JONES died 01 Nov 1993 in Alameda County. Both were buried in Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, Contra Costa County, California.
Leo Joseph and Florence Regina (FLANNERY) JONES had four children.

1-5-2. Barbara June JONES was born 1 Jun 1929 in Colorado; died 2002.
1-5-3. Leo Thomas "Sonny" JONES was born 1 Jun 1931 in California.
1-5-4. Constance Lee "Connie" JONES was born 14 Apr 1933 in California; died 2008.

Thomas FLANNERY married 2nd on 12 Apr 1919 to Mary (RUSSELL) CHISHAM, who was born about 1872 in Missouri to father born in Ireland and mother born in Missouri. After they divorced, the 1930 census shows Mary lived with her widowed brother, Merritt M. RUSSELL. Thomas FLANNERY died 25 Jun 1931.

Edward and Thomas FLANNERY took Florence Regina FLANNERY to Victor to live with Joseph Milton and Ella Bertha "Nell" (BARLOW) BORAH and go to school with her cousin, Hazel Catherine BORAH.
This is the last picture taken with Edward in it, as he died of the Spanish Influenza 9 Nov 1918.

A teacher couldn't be found to teach school in Kokomo that school year, so Florence was taken to Victor to stay with her Uncle Joseph and "Nell" BORAH and to go to school with her cousin, Hazel.

Taken in 1919. Hazel Catherine BORAH and Florence Regina FLANNERY. Sarah Catherine "Kate" FLANNERY made Florence's dress for her 14th birthday. A like dress was made for Hazel's birthday. The dresses were yellow with green trim. Little pieces of metal were in the net vest. This was the last dress Kate made for her daughter. Kate caught the Spanish Influenza and died 7 Nov 1918.

BARLOW Family

1. John Ernest BARLOW was born April 1849. John married 15 Jun 1875 in Montreal, Canada, to Sarah McMAHON, who was born 29 May 1849 to parents Dennis and Sarah BANNIGAN McMAHON. Sarah died 17 Mar 1892 in Colorado. John Ernest BARLOW, Sr., died 13 Mar 1901.
John Ernest and Sarah (McMAHON) BARLOW had children.

1-1. Margaret Ann BARLOW was born 27 Nov 1875 in Quebec, Canada. She married Albert APPLEBY. She died 7 Jun 1894 in Clear Creek County, Colorado.
1-2. Sarah Catherine "Kate" BARLOW, who was born 7 May 1877 in Quebec, Canada. She married 10 Dec 1893 to Thomas Francis FLANNERY. They had several children, only Florence Regina FLANNERY survived childhood. Kate and two sons died during the 1918 Spanish influenza epidemic.
1-3. Richard Dennis BARLOW was born 9 Apr 1879 in Quebec, Canada; died 29 Jun 1889.
1-4. John Ernest BARLOW, Jr., was born 4 Nov 1881 in Quebec, Canada.
John married 6 Jul 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Mrs. Annie OWEN. John died 21 Dec 1928.
1-5. Mary Jane "Mae" BARLOW was born 16 May 1883 in Leadville, Lake County, Colorado.
Mae married 4 Feb 1906 in Leadville, Lake County, Colorado, to Louis GELINEAU/ANDERSON. Mae died 5 Aug 1936. Louis and Mae (BARLOW) GELINEAU ANDERSON had children.

1-5-1. John Clifford ANDERSON/GELINEAU was born 22 Jun 1908. John's father was born Louis GELINEAU in Quebec. Louis didn't like his GELINEAU surname, so he changed to ANDERSON. When John became an adult, he changed his ANDERSON surname to GELINEAU.

1-6. Ella Bertha "Nell" BARLOW was born 13 Aug 1885. Nell married 30 Nov 1904 to Joseph Milton BORAH, who was born 7 Aug 1882 in Conjos County, Colorado. Joe and Nell divorced.
Joseph Milton and Ella Bertha "Nell" (BARLOW) BORAH had only one child.

1-6-1. Hazel Catherine BORAH was born 27 Dec 1905. Hazel married 8 May 1924 in Cripple Creek, Teller County, Colorado, to Nathaniel Roy WILLIAMS.
Nathaniel and Hazel had one child.

1-6-1-1. Bruce Allen WILLIAMS was born 3 Feb 1926; died 2 Feb 1937, aged one day short of 11 years old, of Rheumatic Heart.

"Nell" (BARLOW) BORAH married 2nd on 24 Dec 1924 in Victor, Teller County, Colorado, to William Vincent NOLAN.
