Frank William Rueter, Haxtun, 91, died at the Haxtun District Hospital on Saturday, February 27, 1999.
 
Mr. Rueter was born on April 3, 1907, in Thayer County, NE, to Lawrence and Elizabeth [Newhart] Rueter. He grew up and attended school in Waunita, NE.
 
Frank married Nina Florence Tenney on September 4, 1938, in Papillion, NE. They lived and farmed at Waunita, Nebraska, and later in the McCook, NE area. In 1954, the family moved to Haxtun where they farmed. The couple spent 21 winters in Arizona. Last year Frank and Nina moved into the Heritage Living Center within a few months of each other, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary there together.
 
In his younger years, Frank enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He was a member of the Haxtun United Methodist Church.
 
Survivors include his wife, Nina Rueter, Heritage Living Center, Haxtun; a son, Clark Rueter and wife Fran, Haxtun; brothers Alvin Rueter, North Platte, NE, and Lawrence Rueter, Waunita, NE; and sisters Helen Darby, North Platte, Hattie Rosetti, Vienna, VA, and Lucille Lee, Lancaster, VA; grandsons Wade Rueter and wife Sharon, Minnesota, and Stacey Rueter, Holyoke; and step-granddaughters Dawn Yack and Lani Schwartz, both of Sterling.

Nina Rueter, 93, Haxtun, passed away on August 6, 2002. She was born on September 15, 1908, the daughter of John W. Tenney and Allie E. Meredith.
 
Nina graduated from Polk, Nebraska in 1928. She attended college for two years to become a pharmacist’s assistant. She moved to Wauneta, Nebraska and worked in a drug store there. She married Frank W. Rueter on September 4, 1938 in Papillion, Nebraska. She and her husband farmed south of Wauneta and north of McCook, Nebraska before moving to Haxtun in 1954 to farm east of town. Nina became a housewife after their marriage. She was also a member of the Haxtun United Methodist Church.
 
Nina is survived by her son Clark Rueter and wife Fran, Haxtun, grandsons Wade Rueter and wife Sharon, Minnesota, Stacey Rueter, Holyoke, step-granddaughters Lani McPhie and husband Steven, Sterling and Dawn Yack, Haxtun, two great granddaughters and five step-great grandchildren.
 
She is proceeded in death by her husband, brother, Willard Tenney, sisters, Mae Becker and Edna Voseipka, nephew, Don Tenney and grandson Lonnie Rueter.
 
Memorial services were held on Saturday August 10, 2002 at Tennant Funeral Home, Haxtun with Rev. Keith Hudiburgh officiating.
