Anna Marie (Rahe) Lindgren Obituary

ANNA MARIE (RAHE) LINDGREN

Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, August 27, 1936

Mrs. Anna Marie Lindgren, born Rahe, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Friedrick Rahe of Menninghueffen, Westphalia, Germany, was born November 13, 1876, in Egge (by 116) Germany; and died August 21, 1936 in Ovid, Colorado, having therefore attained the age of 59 years, 9 months and 8 days.

She was baptized on November 19, 1876 and given the name Anna Marie Wilhelmina Caroline. When she was six years old the family immigrated to America and settled at Grand Island, Nebraska and later moved to Weyerts, Nebraska where she was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran church on April 10, 1892.

On the 25th of March 1897 she was united in marriage with Charles J. Lindgren of Chappell, Nebraska and lived there until 1901 when they moved to the Fairfield community near Haxtun, Colorado where they made their home until the time of her death.

After moving to Fairfield Mrs. Lindgren united with the First Baptist church, Holyoke, and took an active part in the work for several years. Since 1912 she counted the Fairfield church as her spiritual home and as opportunity and energy permitted she was for many years active in the ladies' aid and other branches of the work. By the testimony of her husband she was throughout her life interested in reading and meditating upon the Word of God, and retained a firm faith in the eternal verities of life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers; and is survived by the following who deeply mourn her passing: her husband, Charles J. Lindgren, two sons, Walter and Howard Lindgren, three daughters Mrs. Martin Anderson, Mrs. Erhard Nitschke, Mrs. Carl Eckman; four sisters Mrs. William Huls, Mrs. Ray Humphrey, Mrs. Bert Wiegers, Mrs. Ervin Sanders; two brothers, Otto and William Rahe; and one half brother, Fred Rahe; besides four grandchildren and a great host of neighbors and friends who feel the loss of a faithful and true friend.
