BLANCH E. (NORTH) HARMON
Holyoke
Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, May 23, 1968
Mrs. Blanche Harmon,
a pioneer resident of this community, passed away Friday, May 17, at
Melissa Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since May 8. She
was 81 years of age and had resided in this area for 68 years.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the
Holyoke Christian Church. Donald Gordon, minister of the Christian
church, officiated. Interment was at the Pleasant Valley cemetery
southeast of Holyoke, with arrangements in charge of the Lewis Funeral
Home.
As Blanche Eliza North, a daughter of George and Susan
(Yount) North, Mrs. Harmon was born August 15, 1886, at Ness City,
Kansas. She lived in that community until 1900, when she moved to the
Holyoke area. On February 4, 1904, she was united in marriage to Lloyd
Elmer Harmon, who passed away on March 30, 1967.
Surviving Mrs.
Harmon are one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Anderson, of Denver; two sons,
Harold D. Harmon, Bellflower, California, and Zack O. Harmon, Denver;
three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Power, Lynwood, California, Mrs. Mary
Martin, Holyoke, and Mrs. Emma Hill, Imperial, Nebraska; two brothers,
Claude North, Holyoke, and Bruce North, Bazine, Kansas; one grandson,
Bruce T. Harmon, who is serving in the Army at West Point, New York; and
many other relatives and friends. Preceding Mrs. Harmon in death besides
her husband were her parents and son, George Leonard Harmon, who was a
barber in Holyoke for a number of years.

hospital staff for their excellent care and consideration shown our

ELMER HARMON
Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke,
Colorado, April 6, 1967
Elmer Harmon, 90, an early pioneer of
the Holyoke community, passed away at about noon Thursday, March 30, at
Melissa Memorial Hospital following an extended period of failing
health. He had been a resident of Sheridan Manor Nursing Home here for
several months.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 1, at the Lewis Funeral chapel with James Dobyns,
minister of the Holyoke Christian church, officiating. Interment was at
the Pleasant Valley cemetery southeast of Holyoke. Lewis Funeral Home
are in charge of arrangements..
A son of Marion and Jane Harmon,
Lloyd Elmer Harmon was born near Mattoon, Illinois on May 5, 1876. Elmer
was just 13 years of age when the family moved to a homestead southwest
of Holyoke. Mr. Harmon resided in this community the rest of his life.
On February 4, 1904, he was united in marriage with Blanche North. To
this union four children were born, three of whom survive.
Preceding Mr. Harmon in death were his parents, two brothers, one sister
and one son, Leonard, who was a barber in Holyoke for many years.
Surviving are his widow, Blanche, Holyoke; two sons, Harold Harmon,
Bellflower, California, and Zach Harmon, Denver; one daughter, Mrs.
Geraldine Anderson, Denver; one grandson, Bruce Harmon, who is serving
in the armed forces in Viet Nam; two brothers, D.L. Harmon, Olathe, and
W.F. Harmon, Ordway; and many other relatives and friends.
ZACK HARMON
Holyoke
Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, November 3, 1976
Graveside
services were held Monday, October 28, 1976 at Pleasant Valley cemetery,
Holyoke, for Zack Harmon, who passed away Friday, October 22 at Denver
General Hospital. Rev. Eldon Shoemaker, minister of the United Methodist
church officiated at the service.
Zack Orman Harmon was born
January 9, 1911 to Lloyd and Blanche North Harmon at Holyoke. Zack
attended schools in the Holyoke area. He worked in Denver as a general
laborer until his retirement.
Zack was preceded in death by his
parents, and brother Leonard. He is survived by his brother, Harold,
Montrose; a sister, Geraldine Anderson, Denver; a nephew, Bruce Harmon,
Holyoke.
