Arthur Hjalmar Hanson, 81, longtime resident of
the Holyoke community passed away suddenly at his home Monday, June 17.
Art was born on Gotebor, Sweden March 3, 1904. He received his
schooling in Sweden. Art and his brother Carl came from Sweden and
arrived at Paoli Christmas day 1927. He worked for Alfred Bergland for
awhile and then Gust Anderson before he started farming for himself. He
married Signe Swanson August 27, 1951.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, brother Carl, one sister and a grandson. He leaves to
mourn his wife, three sisters in Sweden, son Bill and Linda Hanson of
Arlington, TX; daughter Pat and Rich Willson of Aurora, four
grandchildren and several nephews and nieces still in Sweden.
Services were Friday, June 21, 1985 at Fairfield Covenant Church, where
he has been a longtime member.
