OBITUARY

Mary E. Guernsey, nee Hendrickson, was born September 8, 1867, in the state of Nebraska and died at her home in Phillips County, Colorado March 1, 1908  from a severe attack of pneumonia. 

 She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hendrickson of this county and came  to the county with her parents about 22 years ago. A few years after coming to the county she was married to Griffin Guernsey and to them were born 3  children who with her husband survive her. 

The funeral services were conducted from the school house near the home, on Tuesday March 2, Rev. Winterbourn of Haxtun preaching the sermon, and the body was laid in the country cemetery. 

She was highly esteemed by a large number of friends and the family have the  sympathy of all in their sorrow.
