Funeral services were held at the family home here Wednesday afternoon for Carl Eichele, 74, Phillips County pioneer, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Holyoke hospital from hardening of the arteries. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. J.W. Bailey, pastor of the Holyoke Baptist church, and the body was buried in the State Line Cemetery, southeast of Holyoke.

Mr. Eichele had been in ill health for the past two years, and last year had one of his legs amputated and the other one a short time ago.
