PIONEER RESIDENT BURIED AT HAXTUN
Funeral services for Edwin
Louis Donnelly, a resident of Holyoke for many years and more recently
of Haxtun was conducted at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the church of
the Brethren at Haxtun. Burial was at the Haxtun cemetery.
Mr.
Donnelly, aged 87 years, died at 5:23 o’clock Saturday morning after an
illness of twelve days. He was a retired railway worker.
Mr.
Donnelly was born March 21, 1869, at Richmond, Virginia, son of Robert
and Marcelena May Donnelly. He was reared at Blair, Nebraska and in 1895
went to Holyoke, where he resided until going to Pueblo in 1920. He has
resided at Haxtun since 1942. He was married March 21, 1896 at Yuma,
Colorado to Cappie Harmon.
Surviving Mr. Donnelly are his wife,
brothers and sisters*, Mrs. Esther Lindgren and Mrs. Clara Bjorklun,
both of Holyoke, Edwin C. Donnelly of San Gabriel, California, Doyle
Donnelly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Raymond Donnelly of Omaha, Nebraska
and Dudley Donnelly, of Vancouver, Washington, by sister Mrs. Clara
Finch and Miss Celeste Donnelly of Haxtun, Mrs. Anna Sohenk and Mrs. Ida
Reed, both of Blair, Nebraska, and by a brother Joseph Donnelly of
Valies, Montana.
Funeral arrangements were by the Radford
Funeral home. Rev. Leonard Birkin conducted the services.
