Funeral services for Randy Conklin, 26, were held Saturday, August 28, 1976, at Zion Lutheran church in Holyoke, with Rev. Gary Rahe officiating.
Randel Wesley Conklin, was born September 18, 1949, in Holyoke, a son of Robert and Ardis [Kropp] Conklin. Randy was baptized at Zion Lutheran church on October 9, 1949; he renewed these vows at his confirmation on June 2, 1963.
Randy graduated from Holyoke High School with the class of 1967. After graduation he spent three and one-half years in Denver, where he attended National Electronics Institute and worked at Ward Terry, but he preferred living in the country, so he returned home.
Randy was employed at several jobs following his return to Holyoke, but most of his time was spent farming and ranching. He belonged to the Holyoke Volunteer Fire department for a short time before he moved to the country. March 4, 1974, Randy and Anita Baker were united in marriage at Salida. Randy enjoyed the out of doors, hunting, fishing, skiing, farming and ranching. He will be remembered for his love of life and his ready smile.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Conklin; four sisters, Vicki Faubel, Mrs. Ron [Karla] Bryant and Robin Ocken, Holyoke, and Mrs. Bill [Gail] Roberts, Minatare, NE; one brother, Eric at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kropp and Mrs. Rose Conklin, Holyoke; four nephews, two nieces, and many other relatives.
