PAUL M. CLEMENTS FUNERAL SERVICES DECEMBER 29
 
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 29, 1982 at the Baptist Church in Holyoke with Rev. Joseph Stewart officiating.
 
Paul M. Clements was born April 18, 1897 in York, Illinois the son of John and Mary MacDonald Clements. He grew up and attended schools in Illinois around Robinson and Huttsonville area. He worked on farms and ranches in Nebraska and North Dakota before coming to Colorado In 1921when he began farming northwest of Holyoke.
 
On April 18, 1938, he married Lula Erickson Haynes in Gering, Nebraska. The couple continued to farm until retiring in 1961 when they moved to Holyoke. Mr. Clément’s hobbies included: hunting, fishing, reading and writing amusing anecdotes. He was also an avid politician. He was a member of the Baptist Church. As a young man, he was baptized in the Wabash River.
 
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Lula Clements of Holyoke; stepdaughter Mrs. Melvin (Dolores) Hofmeister, Haxtun; step grandson Brad Hofmeister, Haxtun; sister-in-law Mrs. Irma Clements, Holyoke, two nieces Joanne and Jean.
 
Mr. Clements died Saturday, December 25, 1982 at the Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke at the age of 85. Burial was in the Haxtun Cemetery.

Lula C. Clements died December 21, 1998, at the Haxtun Heritage Living Center at the age of 98.
 
 
Lula was born Lula Caroline Erickson on March 19, 1900, in a sod house south of Haxtun to Charlie and Elenida (Carlson) Erickson. She was raised in the Haxtun area where her father was an agent for the Lincoln Land Company. Her father helped to relocate many families into the Haxtun area.
 
 In 1916, Lula married Paul Haynes and had two children, Glen and Dolores. She later married Paul Clements and moved to the Holyoke area where she lived for many years.
 
In 1961 Lula and her husband retired from the farm and moved into Holyoke where Lula remained a homemaker until she moved into the Haxtun Heritage Living Center in February of 1994. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and sharing these works with friends over coffee and gatherings. Lula was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Holyoke. She was also a member of the Church of the Brethren in Haxtun.
 
Lula was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Elenida Erickson, husbands Paul Haynes and Paul Clements, brother Emmett, sisters, Myrtle Moore and Agnes Kipp, son Glen Haynes and grandchildren Roger Haynes, Dennis Haynes and Sharon Cawley.
 
Survivors include daughter Dolores Hofmeister and husband Melvin of Haxtun, grandson Brad Hofmeister and wife Cyndi, great grandson Wade of Fort Morgan and many nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services were held December 24, 1998, at Church of the Brethren in Holyoke with Rev. Roy Pfaltzgraff and Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Interment followed at Haxtun Cemetery.
