FUNERAL
SERVICE FOR LLOYD R. CHERAMY
Funeral service for Lloyd R.
Cheramy was conducted Saturday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. at the United
Methodist church in Haxtun. Rev. Mack Carlson, minister of the Haxtun
Berean church, officiated at the service.
The organist was Mrs.
Wilbur Atkins and Miss Betty Sullivan, soloist. The song selections
were: “Beyond The Sunset” and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.” Honorary
pallbearers were Paul Pillard, Arthur Critchlow, Frank Harms, John
Wright, Melvern Miles, Porter Allen, Harry Ahnstedt and Felix Klatka.
Active pallbearers were Carl Cheramy, Wilbur Hinde, Bill Lambert, Dean
Miles, Harold Lundgren, Clyde Einspahr, Terry Wisdom and Earl Cheramy.
The ushers at the service were George McCulloch and J.W. Meakins.
Interment was in the Haxtun cemetery with the Thompson Mortuary in
charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cheramy died Wednesday morning, June
28, in the Haxtun hospital. He had been at the hospital only a few days
before his death came from a heart attack. He was born February 17, 1905
to William and Elva Ellis Cheramy in Holyoke. He and his wife lived in
the Haxtun community since their marriage. For a few years Mr. Cheramy
operated a liquor store on Highway 6 at Haxtun. He retired from business
in June 1970.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Melvin, of Denver;
four grandchildren, Mrs. Vickie Gregg, Virginia and Richard Cheramy, all
of Greeley and Lloyd Michael Cheramy of Denver. Others of the family
surviving are: one brother, Carl, of Haxtun; four sisters, Mrs. Lila
Offel of Oregon, Mrs. Mary Tucker of Holyoke, Mrs. Pauline Sullivan of
Haxtun and Mrs. Maxine Wisdom of Fleming and nieces and nephews besides
a host of friends.
Mr. Cheramy was preceded in death by his
parents, one brother and four sisters.
