Funeral services were held Monday, May 21, 1979 for Grace M. Burchett, 88, who passed away Tuesday, May 15, at Brighton. Pastor Gerald Chapman officiated at the services. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
 
Grace M. Burchett was born January 28, 1891 at Amherst, Colorado to Lawrence Elmer Fair and Alice Leonora Fair.
 
Grace was one of the early pioneers, having been born in a sod house at Amherst, later homesteading 18 miles south of Holyoke where she reared her family. She lived for a few years in the Denver area before returning to Holyoke for her retirement years. She was with her daughter at Brighton when she suddenly passed away.
 
Grace was married to Claude Burchett at Holyoke, and to this union nine children were born. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Doyle Burchett, and one daughter, Leona Burchett Anderson.
 
She is survived by one sister, Maude Douglas of Holyoke, her children, Wilbur Burchett, Holyoke; Mack Burchett, Glenwood Springs; Marvin and Lyle Burchett, Aurora; Mrs. Florence Hayes, Johnson City, Tennessee; Mrs. Jeanette Denison, Brighton; Mrs. Dolores Sawyer, Arvada; 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and other relatives.
