PAOLI MAN KILLED IN TUESDAY ROLLOVER
 
A Paoli man, James Allen Brown, was killed early Tuesday morning in a one vehicle rollover accident. According to the Colorado State Patrol, in a report filed by Trooper Ken Pierce, “at about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, Brown was eastbound on Highway 6 when he went off the left side of the road. Brown overcorrected to the right, according to Trooper Pierce’s report and ran off the right side of the road, rolling two times. He was ejected from the car and the vehicle was completely consumed by fire.” Brown was found 102 feet east of the vehicle. Brown, 37, was pronounced death at Haxtun Hospital by County Coroner Dr. James Ley.

James Allen Brown of Paoli died Tuesday, February 24, 1998. He was born on June 27, 1960 in Lexington, Nebraska to Ruth (Beauchamp) and Robert Brown. He attended school in Lexington until the eighth grade. In 1974 he moved with his family to North Platte, Nebraska, where he attended high school. Later he attended Mid Plains Community College.
 
While in North Platte, James was employed by Dowhower Construction Company. He then moved to Holyoke. While living in Holyoke he was employed by Carruthers Custom Harvesting, where he met his wife Peggy. They were united in marriage on August 28, 1982. James was described as a loving, honest man with a heart of gold. He was hard working and always went the extra mile. At the time of his death he was employed by Mason Transport Service in Sidney, Nebraska.
 
James is survived by his wife Peggy L. Brown, brothers Phillips and wife Joyce and Robert and wife Pam; sisters Rebecca Brown and Nancy Zimmerman and husband Robert; brothers-in-law Rodney Vernon and wife Sharon, Lenny Vernon and wife Lynn, Jerry Kroeger and wife Bobbie; sisters-in-law Becky Peterson and husband Randy, Sheri Bornhoft and husband Tommy and Lona Salyards and husband David; 10 nephews; nine nieces; one great nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Fulton and Freda Brown, Frank and Hazel Koch and Clifton and Edna Beauchamp and mother and father-in-law Clarence and Shirley Kroeger.
