Charles Edwin and Effie May (Armstrong) Glackin 

  Charles was born January 17, 1885 in York County, Pennsylvania.

In 1900 York County, Jacob and Amanda Glackin have Charles E., 15.

Charles  married Effie May Armstrong September 29, 1909 in Jones County, Iowa.  His parents were Jacob Glackin and Mary A. McCreary, hers were Chas. R. Armstrong and Adell Remington.  (Charles Ransom Armstrong, per # 78060941, is buried in Norwich Cemetery, Jones County - 1847-1919 - so is Viola Adell (Remington) Armstrong - 1853-1929  # 22638083)

In 1910 Leroy precinct, Logan County, Colorado, Charles E. and Effie W. are farming.  She's 22, born in Iowa.

Charles proved up  a quarter in 30, 6N 50W in 1913.



January 1916 "Charles Armstrong of Mount Vernon is expected today for a visit with his daughter, Mrs. Charles E. Glackin of Kelly, and his niece, Mrs. G. A. Roe of Sterling."

Officers of school district #65  in 1919-1920 were William Cartwright, Mrs. Charles E. Glackin, and Philip Held, all with Fleming addresses.

In 1920 Logan County Charles E. and Effie have Elton, 10 and Della, 4. One tree says the full names of children were Willis Elton Glackin, Della Glenadine Glacking, Charles Wayne Glackin, and David Eugene Glackin.

In 1930 they have W. Elton 19, Della G. 13, and Charles W. 8.

Della G. Glackin married Leonard J. Gothberg Jun 15, 1938, recorded in Denver.

In 1940 Charles and Effie are in Sterling, where C.E. is a laborer.  Willis Elton is 28, a supervisor of a recreation program.  Charles Wayne is 18 and David R. is 8.

Charles E. - Jan 17, 1885-Jan 12, 1952  #  54969302 and Effie May (Armstrong) Glackin -1889-1964 are buried in Sterling.

Willis Elton Glackin - July 19, 1910 - Jun 16, 1981 and Kathleen C. (Hoskins) Glackin 1919-1988 are buried in Sterling.

Kathleen's parents Clark 1890-1974 and Edna Belle (Gooding) Hoskins 1891-1949 are also buried in Sterling.

Della G. Gothbert -1916-1999 and Leonard J. Gothberg 1914-1974 are buried in Denver Fairmount.

Della G. Gothberg, of Lakewood, a homemaker, died Thursday in Denver.  She was 83.

Services were Tuesday at Mile High Church of Religious Science in Lakewood. Interment was in Fairmont Cemetery.

She was born April 25, 1916, in Sterling. On July 15, 1938, she married Leonard J. Gothberg in Denver. He preceded her in death.

Her interests were coin and stamp collecting and music.

She is survived by a son Gary, Edgewater; a daughter, Joanne Rogers, Almo, Ky.; two brothers, Charles Glackin, Loveland, and David Glackin, Nelson, British Columbia; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Posted 22-Sep-99

August 1963 Albert Lea, Minnesota "Patty K. Heather, Greeley, Colo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Heather, 422 Columbus, and David E. Glackin, Greeley, Colo., son of Mrs. Charles E. Glackin, Sterling, Colo., and the late Charles E. Glackin, were married Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church.   Charles W. Glackin, brother of the groom, Arvada, Colo., was best man "  (Glackin was graduated froft Greeley : High School and is now a senior majoring in music at Colorado State College. He is a member of Kappa Kappa Fsi, music fraternity; and Tau Kappa Epsilon, social fraternity.)

In 1997, Mary Heather Hacker's obituary mentioned sister "Pat and her husband Dave Glackin of Nelson, British Columbia."  Pat Glackin of Nelson won a smoke alarm in 2012.
