August 1909 Sterling, Colorado " G. A. Roe has opened a general store on his claim just south of the reservoir.
This will be a great convenience to nearby farmers and contractors."
October 1909 "G. A. Roe, the storekeeper at the Point of Rocks, has been hauling out lumber for a big barn to be built there. Besides working several teams on the reservoir Job Mr. Roe expects to farm quite extensively next season. "
January 1910 Sterling "G. A. Roe, the Point of Rocks storekeeper, has been commissioned assistant deputy head consul of the M. W. of A. for Colorado, with headquarters at Sterling."

October 1909 "Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glacken and Mr. and Mrs. James Armstrong, who were recently
married in Iowa, came Saturday night and were guests over Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Roe
at the Point of Rocks. They will make their homes in the Leroy country. Charles Armstrong,
father of Mrs. Glacken and James Armstrong, accompanied tho young people to Colorado to assist
in getting them settled. The elder Mr. Armstrong is an uncle of Mrs. Roe."
June 1910 "Mrs. J. R. Armstrong, of Denver, is spending this month with Mrs. G. A. Roe, her sister-in-law."
December 1910 " J. H. Brookhouser, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, is here looking over the country with
a view to locating in Sterling. Mr. Brookhouser is a brother-in-law of G. A. Roe, of the Point of Rocks.
He reports four inches of snow in Iowa and says " It looks like the good old summer time out here. "

June 1919 Sterling "Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Roe entertained the teachers of the
junior high school at their home, ll6 Phelps street, Monday eveuing. Card games were the
principal entertainment of the evening.Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served by the hostess."
July 1923 "C. H. Brown and family of Anamosa, Iowa and E. D. Armstrong and family of
Marion, Iowa, visited Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Roe in Sterling.
Mrs. Brown and Mr. Armstrong are cousins of Mrs. Roe. The Iowans are on a
summer automobile trip through the west."

Survived by a niece, Vera Hilt, Largo. Feaster Memorial Home, Largo
August 1923 " Thomas Marshall of Des Moines, ???? of G. A. Roe, returned to his home Sunday evening. Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Roe are at Estes Park. "
May 1932 Estes Park "G. A. Roe of Sterling has rented Ted's Hamburger stand near Riverside
and will operate it this season. He will come to the park the first part of next week and
renovate the place entirely."
June 1933 Estes Park, Colorado "Miss Marie Mehl, teacher in the summer school at Gunnison
Western State college, will spend her vacation as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Roe at their summer home here."
"The Rev. Oliver Duggin, his son, Oliver and his daughter, Lois, all of St. Louis, where Mr. Duggin is pastor of the First Grace M. E. church, will leave the Missouri city for the world’s fair at Chicago this week. The family will stay there for a few days after which they will drive to Estes Park where they will be summer guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Roe."
"Mrs. G. A. Roe was informed this week that her letter entered in a letter writing contest sponsored by a Sterling furniture store 1 ad won a gas range. The range will be installed at her summer home near the village."

July 1940 " Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Marshall and son, Clyde, of Des Moines, Iowa,
are spending their vacation with Mrs. Marshall's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Roe, at 'Roe Manse.'"
July 1942 Estes Park "Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Hillis and three children from Des Moines, Ia., left Thursday after spending a week at the Association Camp. They visited Mr. Hillis’ cousin, Mrs. G. A. Roe, and Mr. Roe while here."
July 1943 "Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Armstrong from Denver spent the weekend with Mr. Armstrong's sister,
Mrs. G. A. Roe, and Mr. Roe at their cabin, 'Roe-Manse.' They were just back from a visit with their son,
Robert, who is in the Army air corps stationed at Fort Worth, Texas."
G. A. Roe, 71, for 18 years a summer resident of Estes Park, died June 24th, 1947 at a Denver hospital,
it was learned last weekend. With Mrs. Roe, he came to their cottage, 'Roe-Manse' on the Big
Thompson river each summer, and was widely known in the region. He has been in ill health for several years.
Mr. Roe homesteaded in Logan county, and at one time operated a store in the North Sterling district.
He was at one time manager of the Logan county fair,
and was active in many civic enterprises in that area. He was a member of the I.O.O.F.,
and in recent years has had considerable poetry published.
Cremation was in Denver, and a memorial service was held at Sterling Saturday. Survivors are his wife,
Mrs. Myrtle Roe; a brother, G. D. Roe of Portland, Ore.; and a sister, Mrs. Vesta A. Marshall of Iowa."
August 1947 "Mrs. Vera Edwards of Grand Island, Nebr., is visiting her aunt, Mrs. G. A. Roe, at the
latter's cottage on the Moraine Park road. They plan to remain in the Park until after Labor Day."
August 1953 "Mrs. G. A. Roe of Denver, who has just returned from Washington. D. C.,
where she attended an Institute of Genealogical Research, plans to arrive in Estes this week.
She will be at her summer home 'Roemanse' on Moraine Drive."
Myrtle Armstrong Roe died in Pinellas County, Florida.
