Oscar Foxal, Lucian Foxal, Frances (Foxal) Grauberger
James (Joseph - RF) Richard, son of James and Jane Ann FOXAL, was
born in Beacon Iowa, August 15, 1883, and passed away at his home in
Chariton, Iowa, September 21, 1950, at the age of 67 years, 1 month
and 6 days.
As a small child he moved with his family to Wauneta, Nebraska,
where he lived until he was fifteen years of age. The remainder of
his life was spent in Iowa. For eleven years he owned operated a
produce station in Hamburg and it was here that he lost two children
during the flu epidemic of 1918.
He was united in marriage to Beulah Ann BROWN Feb. 5, 1905. Eleven
children were born to this union, five of whom passed away at an
early age. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Ardith
NOOK and Mrs Gretchen MATTERS of Hamburg, Mrs. Charlotte DAWSON of
Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mrs. Geraldine GRAVES of Millerton, Iowa;
two sons, Waldo R of Minden, Nebraska, and Bernard J of Ottumwa;
seven grandchildren; one great grand daughter; two brothers Oscar of
Fleming, Colorado, and Lucian of Denver; two sisters, Mrs. Frank
GRAUBERGER of Denver, and Mrs. Grover WENTZ of Chariton, and a host
of friends.
Mr FOXAL suffered a stroke of paralysis several years ago, from
which he never fully recovered. On Sunday September 17th he suffered
a second stroke and death occurred of the following Thursday.
Funeral services were held in Chariton Saturday at 10:30 a. m.,
conducted by Rev. R. W. SWICK pastor of the Methodist church and the
remains were brought to Hamburg, where grave side services were held
at 3:45 p. m., conducted by Rev. Cecil C. LATTA.

September 1955 Chariton Iowa "Mr. and Mrs. Glen Willis and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Wentz have returned from Denver, where they attended the funeral services for Lucian Foxal, brother of Mrs. WEntz and former resident of Lucas County.
George Willis Cavett, son of Samuel and Eliza Cavett, was born in
Lucas county, Iowa, on July 26, 1869, and died at the Baker Nursing Home
in Chariton on July 8, 1945, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 12
days. On September 12, 1894, he was united in marriage to Isabelle Grimes. Mr. Cavett was a life long resident of Lucas county, spending his entire life as a farmer until a few years ago. He was a member of long standing in the United Brethren church. He lived a life of service for the church and his Lord. Many friends are grieved by his passing. He was the last member of a family of nine children. Surviving are his children, Mrs. Faye Foxal, of Fleming, Colo.; Burdette Cavett, of Denver, Colo.; Charley Cavett and Mrs. Willa Foster, of Chariton; Howard Cavett, of Chicago, Ill.; and four grandchildren. |
