"Fort Morgan, Colo., April 6. -
Solon D. Martin died at this place last night.
Mr. Martin was one of the oldest settlers in
this section ef the state, having come to Greeley
in 1870 with the old Union colony. Since the time
of his settlement Mr. Martin has been actively
engaged in farming and stock raising and was one
of the originators and heaviest stockholders in
the Weldon Valley Ditch company, of Morgan County,
but for several years has confined his attention
mostly to the breeding and raising of fast
horses on his ranch near Deuel. He was well known throughout
the entire state. Yesterday morning deceased and wife left
the ranch for Fort Morgan to do some trading,
and while on the way he was taken violently ill.
After having alighted from the wagon Mrs. Martin could not lift
him into it and was obliged to set out on foot for the
town to summon assistance, she not being able to drive the team.
After several hours, assistance was procured and tbe sick man
brought to town, where he failed about an hour after his arrival. "

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Lester B. Bishop, 48, resident of South Gate, who committed suicide Friday afternoon by hanging. Services will be held in the Robert S. Moreland mortuary with Mrs. Edna Drepert officiating. Burial will take place with private services in Sunnyside cemetery. The body of Mr. Bishop was found in the family garage Friday afternoon at 3:46 o'clock by his son, Lester T. Bishop, age 25. The son told South Gate police that his father had been ill for several years and was also unemployed. Mr. Bishop was born in Denver, Colorado, and had been a resident of South Gate for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Alice; at home; his son, Lester T. at home and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Chapin and Mrs. Mildred Lowe, both of South Gate.

"Her Death certificate indicated birth in Missouri, but 1880 thru 1920 Censuses indicated she was born in Ohio. Her father is listed as William Thomas born in France. Mother Unknown. Her first marriage license has her last name as Williams.
The family lore is that Jennie and her family were living in Missouri and she contracted Tuberculosis as a teen. As was common in that time, her family sent her to Longmont Colorado to recover in the dry climate. She worked as a servant until meeting her first husband Joseph Moore in Greeley. The Married and had two girls, Leafy and Mae. They later divorced and she remarried Robert Hill. Robert and she remained married until her death.
