October 1887 "Walter A. Scott, of Sterling, and Miss Anna Whipples, of Holyoke, were married on Monday evening, October 17, 1887, in Sterling, at the house of Mr. Judd's by Rev. W. B. Wheeler. The Herald heartily extends its best wishes to the happy couple. They are visiting at the bride's parents this week, after which they will live in Sterling."

February 1899 " L. M. Judd has commenced the erection of a stone business block with a frontage of 75 feet and also has in process of construction a sevenroom dwelling. "

February 1900 "Messrs. F. E. Frost and C. T. CampIan of Ravenswood, Mo., closed the deal for the Judd stock of general merchandise this morning, paying over $6,000 cash in hand therefor. They leased the storeroom and the one adjoining, occupied at present by Z. I. Yonge, for a term of three years. Immediately after closing the deal, both gentlemen left for home and will close up their business affairs there and remove to Sterling. Mr. Young will shortly occupy the vacant room in the Judd block adjoining the postoffice. Mr. Judd, we are pleased to state, will remain a permanent resident of Sterling."

January 1908 "Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Judd departed for their home in California. While here Mr. Judd bought A. D. McAlpine's half of their 1080 acre ranch at Iliff and will probably return before long and build a home in that town and reside there. The consideration received by Mr. McAlpine was $17,000."

May 1908 Sterling "Mrs. L. M. Judd and Miss Judd, of Iliff, spent Saturday in Sterling. Miss Judd will be as tall as her mamma in two or three years more."

April 1909 "L. M. Judd returned from California, where he had taken his family nearly two months ago. Mr. Judd expects to build in Iliff next fall and he and his family will make this their home permanently.
Among the passengers to Sterling Saturday were, L. M. Judd, Tom Farley, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mathews, Miss Benway, Mr. McGinnley and Garnet Mosier. All returned to their native land on the 6:20 in the evening."

January 1910 "The Judd ranch containing 1,080 acres near Iliff, Colo., has been sold to a Nebraska syndicate, organized by the Colorado Colony Company for $55,000. This is one of the finest farms of the size in Colorado, some 600 acres being irrigated from the Iliff and Platte Valley ditch, and the balance being located in the North Sterling irrigation district; there are three sets of buildings on the place. It has not yet been decided whether the farm will be sub-divided and sold in small tracts next year or not, but the prospects are that this will be done, and that the syndicate will make a nice profit on their investment. It is reported that Mr. Judd will erect a large two-story brick business house in Iliff upon his return from California next spring and again engage in the mercantile business on a large scale."

October 1950 Denver "Mrs. Lionne Skelly; a resident of Denver 68 years, will be buried today in Crown Hill following services at 3 p. m. in the Olinger Mortuary, Speer blvd. She died Monday afternoon in her home, 159 S. Ogden st., after a long illness. Born in Warren, I11., Oct. 8, 1865, she came to Denver in 1882. Five years later she married David M. Skelly, a Denver & Rio Grande conductor, who died in 1913.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Knudsen and Mrs. Mary S. Cooper, both of the Ogden address, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Nedra Hemingway of Seattle and Gerald Knudsen of Denver."

March 8, 1949 Denver "Funeral services for Leroy Judd, who died Sunday in St. Anthony's Hospital, will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Hofmann Mortuary. Burial will follow in Crown Hill.
Born in Avon, Ohio, Aug. 14, 1851, Mr. Judd came to Colorado 65 years ago. He was a railroad man for many years. He was a member of South Denver Lodge No. 93, A.F. & A.M.
Surviving are his wife, Laura E. Judd, 25 Sherman st., two granddaughters and one greatgranddaughter. "
