| ED LAMBERT, LONG-TIME RESIDENT OF FLEMING, PASSED AWAY JAN 11 Ed Lambert, a long-time resident of the FLEMING community, passed away at a Sterling hospital Saturday evening. He had been in poor health for the past four years. Mr. Lambert was born at Assumption, Illinois on April 27, 1878 and was 79 years old at the time of his passing. He was the son of Adolph and Mary Lambert and lived in Trumbull, Nebraska as a child. He homesteaded nine miles northeast of FLEMING in 1902 and moved into FLEMING in 1951. He was married June 27, 1907 to Mabel Clark, who preceded him in death in 1932. On May 17, 1943 he and Mrs. Flora Davis were married at Sidney, Nebraska. Rosary services were held Tuesday evening and funeral services were held today from the Radford Funeral Home with Rev. James Halloran in charge. Burial was at the Haxtun cemetery. Pallbearers were Warren West, Ed Chapin, Lloyd Langdon, Kenneth Luelf, Ronald Wilson and William Nelson Jr. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Phillip and Gerald of Haxtun, Richard and Paul of FLEMING, one daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Stevens of Fleming; four step-sons and three stepdaughters, Don Davis of Ogden, Utah; Mitchell and Robert Davis of FLEMING, Charles Davis of Providence, Rhode Island, Mrs. Georgia Rowan, Mrs. Virginia Wardrip and Mrs. Iola Hauschild, all of FLEMING. Also surviving are three brothers, Frank and Charles of Haxtun and Henry of Tacoma, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Salenia Campbell of Kearney, Nebraska and Mrs. Millie Kroutwick of Seattle, Washington besides eight grandchildren and 18 step-grandchildren |
| Sterling Journal Advocate X.A. Lambert Funeral to be conducted at Sterling on Wednesday. Funeral services for the late Xavier A. Lambert, retired farmer of Logan County, will be conducted at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Anthony's church in Sterling. Burial will be at the Haxtun Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday evening at Radford Funeral Home in Sterling. Mr. Lambert died November 28,1947, suddenly at 8 o'clock, Friday morning at McAllen, Texas, where and Mrs. Lambert had been visiting. Mr. Lambert was born February 20, 1867, at Assumption, Ill., son of Adolph and Mary Prince Lambert. He came to Colorado from Illinois in 1894 and until 1944 lived on a homestead near Dailey. At that time he moved to Sterling, the family home being two and a half miles south of Sterling. In recent years he had spent a portion of each winter in Texas, where he had citrus fruit orchards. Mr. Lambert was first married on January 23, 1893, at Trumbull, neb., to Sarah Talbert, who died April 12, 1927. He the married on June 6, 1934, to Margaret Carlson, by whom he is survived. Mr. Lambert was a member of St. Anthony's church and of the Modern Woodman of America. He was a musician and for a number of years directed a band in the Haxtun-Daily area. Surviving Mr. Lambert are his wife; five children, Henry Lambert, Oliver Lambert, Napoleon Lambert all of Dailey; Leon Lambert of Fleming; and Mrs Pearl Meakins of Haxtun; and seven brothers and sisters; Frank and Charles Lambert of Haxtun, Ed Lambert of Fleming, Henry Lambert of Bremerton, Wash., Mrs. Selina Campbell of Pleasanton, Neb., Mrs. Millie Kroutwick of Bremerton, Wash., and Mrs Anna Galusha of Omaha. Pallbearers of the service will include; Ray Sipple, Don Gebhardt, and S.J. Meakins of Haxtun; Albert Schell, Ed Morris and Critt Lippitt of Fleming, William Truitt, George Helbert and Leslie Morris of Sterling, and Everett Davis of Dailey. Sarah TALBERT Lambert -1876-1927 is also buried in Haxtun Sarah's first cousins Myrtle Talbert Smith and Cora Talbert Smith are buried about 40 feet to the SE. | Sterling Journal Advocate April 15. 1983 HAXTUN- Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday for Henry Lambert, 89. of Haxtun, formerly of Daily. Mr. Lambert died Wednesday in a Haxtun hospital. The Rev. John Reiger will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Haxtun Cemetery. Mr. Lambert was born Oct.31, 1893 on a farm near Trumbull, Neb., to Xavier and Sarah Talbert Lambert. He lived in Nebraska until the are of six months, when he migrated with his parents to Paoli. The family moved to a homestead between Haxtun and Fleming, before the town of Dailey was settled. They later moved to a cattle operation six miles north of Haxtun and in 1910 moved to the family farm near Dailey. Mr. Lambert attended school in various community homestead schools. On July 2, 1917, he married Florence G Horn at the parsonage of the Methodists Church in Fleming. They lived at Dailey, which was settled in 1914, on a farm and started a junkyard in 1934. Mr. Lambert had a special interest in soil conservation, and the long windbreak of trees along Highway 6 near Dailey was planted by him. During WWI, Mr. Lambert served in the Colorado National Guard. He was also one of the first members of the Dailey EUB Church. Mr. Lambert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence, of Haxtun; two sons, Markus Lambert of Commerce City, and Norris Lambert of Haxtun; three brothers, Leon Lambert and Oliver Lambert of Fleming, and Napoleon Lambert of Dailey; and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Meakins of Haxtun. |

| Friday, November 22, 1946 Mrs. Frank Lambert Longtime Resident of Haxtun Region, Dies Ethel Pauline Lambert, aged 64 years, wife of Frank Lambert, a resident of the Haxtun community, died at 9:05 o'clock this morning at their home in Haxtun. She has been ill for eleven months. Mrs.Lambert was both March 3, 1883, at Trumbull, Neb., daughter of Stephen and Maria Marlatt Linscott. She was reared at Trumbull, and received her education at that place. She married on June 19,1900 at Hastings Neb., to Frank Lambert. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert established their home in Colorado two years after their marriage. Mrs. Lambert held membership in the Assembly Of God Church in Haxtun. Surviving Mrs. Lambert are her husband, twelve children; Wallace, Lester and Walker Lambert and Mrs. Edna Slizeski, Mrs. Iva Davis,and Misses Helen and Myrtle Lambert of Haxtun, and Lloyd Lambert of Sterling. Troy Lambert of Yuma; Harold and Lyle Lambert of Crook; and Mrs.Dorothy Sturges of Gresham, Oregon; and brothers and sisters as follows; John Linscott of Shattuck, Okla, Levi and Frank Linscott of Texas, Bert Linscott of Los Angeles, George Linscott of Omaha, Mrs. Ollie Regan of Shattuck, Okla.,Mrs.Lotta Van Dusen of Loveland, Mrs. Irene Jones of Washington State, and Mrs. Della Regan of California. in the Haxtun hospital after a two-week illness. He was 87. Mr. Lambert
had been a Haxtun area resident 65 years.
