The funeral services will be held at the Pleasant View church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon and all members of the Woodmen of the World are requested to attend, Mr. Gooding being a member of that fraternity. The residence at 819 6th Avenue is an angular 1.5 story wood frame
dwelling. Constructed in 1909, the main original portion of the
house measures 29’ N-S (deep) by 24’ E-W (across). Built in 1909,
this house was originally owned and occupied by Hugh C. and Marie C.
Wheaton.
In the late 1910s, this property was owned by the Longmont Realty
Company, represented by C.E. Sharman. By 1918, it had also become
the home of Emma F. Gooding. She later purchase the property and
lived here until the late 1950s. Born in 1870, Emma had come to
Longmont in 1900, with her husband George W. Gooding. George passed
away in 1903, leaving Emma to raise their three children, Clara,
John and Alice. Mrs. Gooding remained widowed for the remainder of
her life. She passed away in Longmont on August 18, 1963 at the age
of 93. She was survived by her three children, four grandchildren,
five great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.

| Haxtun Harvest, Haxtun, Colorado, May 29, 1919 PIONEER OF NORTHEASTERN COLORADO LAID TO REST MONDAY Charles R. Boehme was born in Illinois January 5, 1869. He later lived in Nebraska, and moved with his parents to Colorado in 1888, where his father homesteaded in the Cedar Valley, north of Sterling. Mr. Boehme homesteaded near Dailey in 1904, where his home had been since. On the 14th of June, 1903, he was married to Emma J. Phillips of Haxtun. Mrs. Boehme died February 11, 1914, leaving five children, all of whom are living. Mr. Boehme died after a long illness. He is survived by his aged mother and five sisters. The deceased was a member of the Haxtun Methodist church. The funeral was held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon, interment being in the Haxtun cemetery. |
