February 1904 Kirksville, Missouri "Died at his
residence South Jefferson street at twenty minutes past
two o'clock Tuesday afternoon January 5, 1904,
of typhoid fever, James Homer Hogan.
The deceased was born in Clarion county, August 17, 1847,
and was in the 56th year of his age when be passed away.
When thirteen years of age his parents moved to
Armstrong county, having purchased a farm in North
Buffalo township, known since then as the Hogan farm.
When seventeen years of age he enlisted in Company K,
104th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers,
and served until the close of the war.
January 27, 1876, he was united in marriage with
Miss Mary Elizabeth Barnett, daughter of the late
John Barnett. After their marriage, they removed
to Kirksville, Missouri, where they resided for
thirty-five years. Five children,
one son and four daughters, all of whom are
living, was the result of this union of hearts
and hands as follows: W. C. Hogan,
residing in Iowa, Doctor Inez Tevebaugh of
Kittanning, Mrs. Anna Powell of Monte Vista,
Colorado, Doctor Scott of Indiana,
and Miss Mabe Hogan of this place.
He was a member of the Woodmen of the World
and of the G. A. R. In 1902 he removed to
Kittanning and has resided here since being
engaged in the grocery business at the time
of his death. At this writing funeral
arrangements had not been completed,
but a notice of same will appear in
Thursday's Daily Times."

They will spend the hot weather here in the most
delightful summer resort in Colorado."

Thursday evening, Mr. James O. Abrams and Miss Susie Powell,

left on the evening train for Denver."

January 27, 1900 " While James O. Abrams and wife
were on the road to town Monday, one of the horees stumbled
and broke the poll of his two seated carriage.
This frightened the horses and they began to run.
Mrs. Abrams, who was on the back seat, jumped from the
carriage and was violently thrown to the ground fracturing
her skull. She was taken to the residence of Wallace
Hawkins in an unconscious condition, and died a few
hours after the accident. Funeral services were held
Tuesday forenoon at the Presbyterian church,
conducted by Rev. O. S. Baum.
Deceased leaves a husband and three children to mourn
her untimely death.
Mr. Abrams desires to express his gratitude to the
citizens of Monte Vista for their kindness toward
him and his children in the sad hours of their
affliction. "

He says the weather back there was fine untill Sunday,
when it began snowing."

J. O. Abrams."

Monday. He has been in Butler, Pa., since last winter,
and says he has a splendid practice there, in fact more
work than both he and his wife have been able to handle.
Mr. Powell came back to Colorado for a short time to
recruit himself, as the work has been too much for him.
He reports his family well. "
January 1904 Monte Vista " Dr. R. B. Powell has opened
an office at Center for the treatment! of patients on
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. His office is at
Mrs. Blackburn's house."

April 1905 " W. C. Hogan and wife of Memphis, Missouri,
arrived in town Sunday. They come with a view of
locating here and try ranching. Mr. Hogan is a
brother of Mrs. Dr. Powell."
In 1910 Denver, Richard B. 39 and Anna H. 37,
married nineteen years, both physicians, and Beulah R. 18,
all born in Missouri.
November 1912 Monte Vista " Mrs. R. B. Powell returned
to her home in Denver Saturday after a stay in this place where she was called to treat some patients."
January 1916 "The nineteenth annual convention of the Colorado Osteopathic association, in session, Friday and Saturday at the Auditorium hotel, closed yesterday afternoon. Dr. F. A. Luedicke of Denver, formerly treasurer of the organization, was elected president for the coming year. Other officers elected: Dr. R. B. Powell of Denver, first vice president; Dr. Amanda M. Hamilton ot Greeley, second vice president, Dr. Martha A. Morrison, Denver, secretary; Dr. G. C. Wilke, Fort Collins, assistant secretary; Dr. J. A. Stewart, Denver, treasurer; Dr. D. D. Clark, Denver, auditor."
June 1917 Longmont "Mrs. W. C. Hogan went to Denver
this morning to meet her father, C. W. Huggins, who is
coming from Memphis, Missouri, to make his home with
Mr. and Mrs. Hogan."
