I, Marion Skipwith Smith, of Grand Junction, Hardeman County, State of Tennessee do hereby make and publish as my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all other by me at any time made.
First I direct that any funeral expense and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any moneys that I may die possessed of or may first some into the hands of my executor.
Second, I give and bequeath to my wife, Mattie Perkins Smith. My entire estate both personal and real, to have her natural life, and it is also left discretionary with her to education our grand daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Smith , and also an appropriation to Miss Ada Morgan in appreciation for her faithful services rendered us in our declining years.
Thirdly after my wife’s death, the entire estate is to revert to Charley Lawrence Smith, Lillie Ore Richardson, and Forest Graves Smith, they being our three youngest children. The three older children having received their portion heretofore of my estate. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my son, Waverly Earl Smith, as executor without bond. In witness whereof I do to this, my will, set my hand this the 26th day of April 1910.

August 26, 1898 "A brother of Otey Smith will be married next Sunday at Grand Junction, Tennessee."

Sallie 1879-1907 is buried in Grand Junction, Tennessee # 81602329.
Waverly was in Sterling Colorado in 1910, widowed, living with his brother Otey.

W. E. Smith 1875-1911 is buried in Hardeman County, # 81602328.

October 1898 "W. C. Propst of Merino and Otey Smith will each ship a car of horses south next week."

October 1898 "Messrs. Otey and Marshall Smith left over the Q last night with a car of horses enroute for Grand Junction, Tennessee."

Elvira Witherspoon was a post office employee in Oak Forest, Benton County Mississippi in 1901.
She was born about 1878 to James Witherspoon and Virginia Tomilson, dying Sept 20, 1953 in Columbia, Maury County, Tennesseee.

Marshall Perkins Smith and Elvira Witherspoon Smith had James Bernal Smith on June 25, 1906 in Sterling.

December 1898 "Otey Smith went to Denver this morning to order a big stock of groceries, which will be opened in the new Delzell block about the middle of January."

In 1900 Sterling, Colorado, Otey Smith has a grocery store, born September 1868, married seven years to Jamie Jan 1870, both born in Mississippi. Her aunt Mary Isom Dec 1839 in Mississippi, is single.

July 1900 "Mrs. Mattie P. Smith, mother of O. E. Smith, and A. P. Prewitt, his cousin, arrived from Grand Junction, Tenn., this morning for an extended visit with relatives. Mr. Prewitt, who is a cousin of U.P. agent Prewitt of Merino, is accompanied by his wife. They will remain here several weeks and return home by way of Manitou, if they do not become fascinated with our climate in the meantime and decide to take up their residence in Colorado."

August 1910 "Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Prewitt of Grand Junction, Tenn., left for Merino this morning after a couple weeks visit with O. E. Smith and other relatives here. After a short visit with L. H. Prewitt at Merino they will take in the mountain points and thence home."
