Death: Jan. 30, 1954 Saint Joseph Buchanan County Missouri - Son of Enoch and Rose Cooper Smith. Husband of Rebecca Jackson. Father of Ralph James Smith. After the death of Rebecca, Eben married Alta Belle Meserve.

In August 1888 Holt County Enoch G. Smith had a court case against Rose I. Smith. One tree said that Rose died September 23, 1930.

Guy Herbert Smith born Nov 17, 1883, registered in Republic Ferry, Washington (where Rose Ruth Smith married John Rounds, per one tree) He's married to Cora Ethel Smith. In 1920 Ferry County, Washington, he's a gold miner, married to Corent E. 28, and mother Rose I., 63, widowed, is living with them.

Cora Ethel Smith born about 1892, died May 12, 1921 in Ferry County - father Chas. Conant, mother M. Kimberlin. Sure is coincidental, that there's a Charles Henry Conant in Logan County, Colorado in 1910 - but he doesn't have a Cora or Ethel as a child.

Possibly the Cora Conant born August 1891 in Montana, with her mother Melvina Conant born Aug 1862 in Missouri, married but no spouse. They're in Park County, Montana.

In 1922 Herbert Smith was town marshal in Republic, Ferry County, and a candidate for county sheriff.

Guy registered for WWII in Riggins, Idaho, saying he was born in Holt County, Missouri.

Riggins’ first hotel, Hotel Riggins, built in 1894 by pioneering businessman Dick Riggins, was located in the center of town across from Berger Street. The hotel also served as the post office and in 1901, Dick Riggins was appointed as the first postmaster. Riggins later built a livery barn and blacksmith shop on adjacent property.
The Road to Hi-Wa-Inn
In 1902, Dick Riggins sold the hotel and post office to Dick and Leona Irwin. In 1910, the Irwins sold the hotel to Helen Toney and moved the post office to a store across the street.
In 1912, Mrs Toney remodeled the hotel and renamed it the Hi-Wa-Inn. The inviting Hi-Wa-Inn, surrounded by shade trees and cool lawn, was a welcome site to weary travelers for many years. The ringing of the big iron triangle was a unique part of Riggins early life as it announced the meals, served promptly at seven, noon, and six at night.

Dan and Nettie Lyons were near Pringey, Oklahoma, Woodward County, both in section 12, of township 25N 18W.

1918 "Mrs. Dan Lyons, who has been making an extended visit with relatives, returned to her home at Moorehead, Oklahoma, Sunday." She visited with her sister Mrs. E.L. Brodbeck and brothers George and Jonas Watson.

Also in 1918 "Mrs. Dan Lyons, of Curtis Oklahoma, spent SUnday with her sister, Mrs. E.L. Brodbeck, and family.

October 1918 "Dan B. Lyons and children desired us to extend their grateful appreciation of the kindness shown them during their sad stay here, and ... the funeral and burial of his wife and their mother." Nettie Lyons -1867-October 13, 1918 is buried in Maple Grove, Holt County. # 47066103.

Dan and Nettie are married in 1910 Woodward County, Oklahoma, Nettie 42, with Pearl E. 20 and Amos J. 16,.

Pearl E. Lyons, born May 12, 1889 in Harper County Kansas, married Elmer Myers, and died July 2, 1963 at Woodard, Oklahoma - children Lloyd and Arlene Myers.

In Mooreland Cemetery are D.B. Lyons 1854-1940 # 128103702, and Mary V. Lyons 1872-1956.

1907 "Miss Elsie Carder, class of 1906, Oregon High School, is teaching school in Osirif, Oklahoma."

May 20, 1910 Holt County, Missouri "The final settlement of the Margaret Carder estate showed a balance of $4,577.52; a distribution was ordered: to Elsie Carder-Smith, $900; Nettie Lyons, $589; George Watson, $846.50; Jonas Watson $664; Erle Richards assignee of W.P. Watson, $989.

In 1910 Rockland precinct, Logan County, Walter is 32, born in Missouri, with Elsie, 23, also Missouri, and they have Ivan E. 1, born in Kansas.

Walter owned that quarter in 1917, but in 1920 they're farming in Garden County, Nebraska, with "Iven" 11, Clarence W. 9, and nine month old daughter Jessie L.

The Garden County history says that Walter Smith of Oshkosh was a member of the County Fuel Committee at the start of WWI.

He registered with an address of Velma, Arthur, Nebraska, a stockman, born June 1, 1877.

In 1940 Garden County, Ivan E. is married to Mary, and they have Myrtle J. 8, Lawrence A. 6, and Mary J. nine months. Mother Elsie - says she's married but no spouse - is with them, and so is sister Jessie L. 21, a school teacher.

In 1951 Glendale, California Morris D. Scripter (Jessie L.) has a tile store, and they live at 1120 E. Wilson Avenue.

One tree said Walter died March 23, 1958 and is buried in Glen Haven Memorial Park, San Fernando, California. It also said Jessie married Morris Donald Scripter in Glendale California in 1947, died in 1962, and is also buried in Glen Haven.

California death records have Walter Smith born June 1, 1877 in Missouri, dying March 23, 1958 in Los Angeles County, mother's maiden name Cooper.

Morris D. Scripter, from Keith County Nebraska - next to Garden County - enlisted February 1943 in Los Angeles, working in an aircraft factory. His grandfather was a Civil War veteran, and a prominent rancher in Keith County, Nebraska.

"The lives of two families, the Tomlins and the Verdugos, became intertwined in 1947 when Norma Scripter arrived from Nebraska and rented a room from Dora Verdugo at 226 W. Elk Ave.

Her older brother, Donald, was boarding with the Tomlin family a few houses down, at 350 W. Elk Ave. Through her brother, Scripter met the Tomlin’s son, James. They fell in love and were married in the old sanctuary at Glendale Presbyterian Church. They were living in an apartment on Windsor Road when daughter Sue and son Roy were born.

In 1956 Norma and James Tomlin bought his parents’ house, moved in and enrolled their children at Thomas Edison Elementary School on Pacific Avenue. "

Morris Roland Scripter, born June 6, 1889 ??? died July 3, 1983 in Los Angeles, mother's maiden name Cliff - he's buried in Garden County, Nebraska. So he must have been living with daughter Norma Evelyn or son Morris Donald Scripter when he died.
