Mary E. Meyer - Feb 22, 1874 - Oct 27, 1912 has a stone in Sterling Riverside cemetery.

In 1900 Dodge County, Nebraska, Rudolph Cragg- July 1894 and Adolph J. Cragg, June 1895 - both born in South Dakota, are in are in an orphans' home.  Rudolph in 1895 was with Herbert 26 and Christina 24  Craig in Sioux City, Iowa.

In 1910 York County, Nebraska, a John Mayer, 52, widowed, has Rudolph C.   15 and Adolf J. 13,   both adopted sons born in South Dakota, father in Illinois, mother in South Dakota.

John proved up a quarter in 6, 6N 48W in 1914.

Rudolph Carl Meyer registered with a Haxtun address, born July 29, 1894 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his father the nearest relative.
Rudolph married Mary Ethel Weddle, age 23, on September 23, 1917, in Sterling, performed by Baptist minister W. J. Bingham.

In 1920 Rockland precinct John Meyer is 61, widowed, born in Germany, immigrating in 1871, naturalized in 1888,  with Rudolph 25, South Dakota,  his wife Mary Ethel 19, Colorado, and daughter Helen Bernice three months, Colorado.

John POSSIBLY is the John Meyers buried in Haxtun, lot 2 - 51 - 1 with no dates recorded.  But that might be Adolph JOHN Meyer, his adopted son.

In 1930 Rudolph C. Meyer and Mary have Helen, and have added Elvin R., 3.  Alice R. Finnigsmeier, 21 Nebraska, a school teacher, is boarding with them.

Rudolph is widowed in 1940 Arapahoe, Colorado, and Helen and Elvin are with him

Rudolph married widow Alma (Rochlitz) Gustafson, probably in Denver June 1945.

Rudolph C. Meyer, born in South Dakota,  1894-1974 and Alma 1902-1997 are buried in Oakwood, Los Angeles County.

Pella Iowa, February 19, 1959

Elvin R. Meyer, 32, a machinist at the Pella Rolscreen, shot his 29-year-old wife late Thursday night at their Flagler home. Meyer said he and his wife Anna argued after he asked her to get him something to eat and she refused, then became engaged in a scuffle with a .22 calibre pistol. Three bullet holes were found in Mrs. Meyer's head, causing instant death. Meyer, arraigned Friday in Justice Charles Eisminger's court in Knoxville, pled not guilty and was bound over to the Marion county grand jury, which is scheduled to meet March 3. He was then returned to the Marion county jail to await grand jury hearing. Following their investigation of the shooting County Attorney Bert Bandstra and Sheriff Loren Jarman filed a murder charge against Meyer. Deputy Sheriff Lynn Gosselink and County Coroner Jordan Evans assisted in the investigation. Sheriff Jarman reported Tuesday that Meyer spent Sunday reading the Bible in his cell at the county jail. Monday Jarman accompanied Meyer to his wife's funeral held at the Evans-Arlington funeral chapel, and to Graceland cemetery where burial services were held. The Meyer's five children, Mary, 9, Ethel, 8, Audrey, 7, Richard, 5, and Loretta, 3, are staying at the home of Frank Hines, a brother of Mrs. Meyer, in the Flagler vicinity. The Meyer family came to Flagler from Colorado last October, then Mr. Meyer found employment as a machinist at the Rolscreen Company here. However, he was recently confined at Veterans hospital in Des Moines for treatment of a heart condition.

Elvin Meyer, Flagler, was sentenced to 50 years.

  Elvin R. Meyer - 5/14/1926-10/29/1998 buried in Chapel Hill, Des Moines Iowa - born in Sterling, Colorado, served in the Navy WWII.  One web site has a Dorothy Meyer as a possible relative.

Anna Mae Hines was born Nov 19, 1929 in Marion County to Harry Hines and Retta Mae Rex.

Adolf J. Meyer married Melitta S. Becker Dec 10, 1919, recorded in Logan County.

 In 1920 he and  Martha S., 18, are living with the John and Martha Becker family in Rockland precinct.

In 1930 Melitta S., now 29, is still with John and Martha Becker in Rockland.   Robert Meadows married Melitta "Meyers" May 1, 1929, recorded in Larimer County. 

In 1930 Rockland precinct Melitta is married to Robert B. Meadows, 26, and had Raymond J. Meyer, 8.

Melitta 1901-1936 is buried in Haxtun.

In 1940 Raymond is a nephew with aunt Gertrude 36 and Albert E. 47 Gitto in Columbia County, Oregon.

Robert Meadows married Margaret Kiesler May 28, 1938, recorded in Logan County.
