In 1900 Rawlins County, Kansas, Claus Peterson is farming, born May 1858 in Sweden, married 17 years to Sophia Mar 1864 Sweden. Sophia Mar 1883 in Michigan, Arthur Feb 1886, Willard Sept 1888, Adina March 1890, Olga March 1892, Edwin May 1894, Edith Sept 1896, and Gilbert Feb 1900 were all born in Kansas.



January 27, 1910 "William C. Peterson of Goodland and Richard Flescher of Linn, Kansas, have filed on section 28, township 11 range 45. The parties were located by S. N. Dolan.

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Williard C. Peterson is single, farming, living alone, 22, born in Kansas. He's next to Arthur H. Peterson 23, just married to Jennie 23, both born in Kansas.

JENNIE

In 1905 Decatur County, Kansas, Jennie Counter was 15, with H.E. 53 and Leticia 36. Harry is 16, Jennie 15, Thomas 13, Fred 11, and Perry 9.

Harry Edward Counter 1852-1920 is buried in Oberlin # 5897486, with Letticia Ann (Montgomery Counter 1869-1956 # 5897472.

ARTHUR

In 1920 Oberlin, Kansas, Arthur is a carpenter, 33, with Jane E. 29, Arthena R. 9, Henry W. 5, and Loella A. 1, all born in Kansasas.
In 1930 Decatur County, Kansas, Arthur is farming, 44, Jennie 40, with Arthina 19, Henry 16, Loella 12, and Ada Jean 3. Edwin, Arthur's brother, 35 is also farming with them.

In 1940 Montgomery County, Kansas, Arthur is a contractor, 54, with Jennie 5 and Ada Jean 13. Two lodgers, Beverly Hite 10 and Joyce Hite 8 are with them.

Arthur 1886-1962 is buried in Oberlin, Kansas # 60365921, with Jennie E. 1890-1947. "Son of Claus Henning Peterson and Sophia Hedvig; married first to Jennie Counter, second to Anna Krizek; father of 4."


Arthena Ruth (Peterson ) Perry 1911-1979 is buried in Aurora, Arkansas # 108070651.
"Mrs. Arthena Ruth Perry, 69, of Rt. 6, Huntsville, died Dec. 26 at her home. Born Aug. 31, 1910, at Berlin, Kan., she was the daughter of Arthur H. and Jennie Counter Peterson. She was a nurse's aide and a Seventh-day Adventist.
Survivors include her husband, Leo E. Perry of the home; two sons, Melvin E. Perry of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Ronnie E. Perry of the home; a brother, Henry W. Peterson of Roseburg, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Loella Powell of Enterprise, Kan., and Mrs. Ada Clements of Camp Verde, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the memorial chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, Huntsville, with Peter Braggs officating. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery."


Henry W. Peterson 1914-2009 is buried in Douglas County, Oregon # 113116564, wtih Myrtle E. 1914-2008.
Loella A. Peterson was born in Oberlin on Feb 14, 1918 to Arthur H. Peterson and Jennie Counter, dying as Powell on January 24, 1992.
She's buried in Dickinson County, Kansas # 90322053, with Herbert L. Powell 1916-2003 "Married 1937."

In 2002 Ada and Melvin Clements were living in Harrisburg, Missouri.
Melvin D. Clements, born Nov 24, 1924 in Taney County, Missouri to William P. Clements and Lena S. Almond, died April 26, 2006.


WILLARD

Willard C. Peterson proved up a quarter in section 35, 6S 50W in 1916.

In 1920 Williard C. is farming, 32, with Lena 26 and Alvin R. 5, all born in Kansas. Harold 2 was born in Colorado.

Williard is a garage mechanic in Sedgwick County, Kansas in 1930, 42, now married to Katherine 20 born in Texas. Alvin R. is 15, Harold 12, Mary C. 10, and Katherine's son Marcene Peterson born in Arkansas, 4.

In 1940 Sedgwick County, "Pete" is 52, Katerine 30, Marcene 14, Lucile 9, Faye 8, Melda 6, Claude 3, Phyllis 2, and Velma six months.

Willard Claus Peterson 1887-1945 is buried in Clearwater, Kansas # 23876384, with Lenna Ann (Dowty) Peterson 1893-1923 # 60423884.

Katherine Grace (Keffer) (Peterson) Barnes 1910-2003 is buried in Clearwater, Sedgwick County, Kansas # 23876385.

HAROLD LEROY "PETE" PETERSON was born August 16, 1917, in Flagler, Colorado, to Willard Claus Peterson and Lenna Anne Dowty Peterson. He was married December 24, 1950, to Mamie Janousek.
A brick mason, he lived in Oberlin, Kansas until 1955 when he and wife Mamie moved to Loveland, Colorado. Worked in Wyoming. They moved to Aurora, Colorado, to a farm in Delta, Colorado in 1964, Cedaredge, Colorado in 1969, and Montrose, Colorado in 1985.
PASTIMES: Fifteen winters as Snowbirds, traveling to Quartzsite, Arizona, and while there they volunteered for the BLM, helping take care of the campgrounds,
DEATH: June 10, 1997, in Montrose, Colorado.

ALVIN

Alvin Raymond Peterson, born June 25, 1914 at Decatur Kansas, was employed by the CensusBUreau in 1940 when registereing for WWII.

Alvin R. Peterson 1914-1975 is buried in Spokane, Washington # 135024692.

One tree said his wife Alice Vinora Walker, born 1920 in Winchester, Idaho, died April 10, 1991 in Multnomah County, Oregon.
SSID has her as Walker in 1938, Peterson in 1943, Crane in 1980.

Their son Erik L. Peterson of Clackmas County and Rose Mary Pruiett of Multnomah County, married in Vancouver, Washington in March 1971.

MARY JANE

Mary Jane (Peterson) Moore, born May 11, 1920 at Flagler, died October 11, 2002, per # 37832528.
