1913 St. George, Kansas "Mrs. Dora Luttig returned home Monday from Goodland, Kansas, where she has been caring for her parents, J. F. Smallwood and wife. Mr. Smallwood had a stroke of paralysis but is recovering slowly. "

June 4, 1915 "Mrs. Dora Luttig returned home Thursday from Colby, Kansas, where she was called by the sudden illness and death of her mother, Mrs. J. F. Smallwood."

October 1916 "J. F. Smallwood returned to Iowa Wednesday, after spending several months with A. Luttig and family."

November 1916 " Mrs. Grace Capps returned to her home in Menlo,Iowa, Saturday, after spending several days with her sister, Mrs. Dora Luttig, and family. her father, J. F. Smallwood, accompanied her home. A. Luttig and wife went as far as Topeka with them."

August Luttig, familiarly known as Gus, was born May 2, 1862 in Germany, died October 20, 1921, at his home in Belvue, Kansas, age 59 years, 5 months and 18 days. He was a member of the German Lutheran church. He was married to Dora Smallwood at Colby, Kansas, December 25, 1891. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Ida Peddicord, Mrs. Jessie Ginder and Mrs. Grace Townsend, all of Belvue. Besides his wife and children he leaves one brother, C. H. Luttig, also Belvue, and seven grand children.
He was a loyal husband, good father and leaves a host of friends, wherever he has lived, His life was spent, not in getting much of this world's wealth, but in making real friends and neighbors. The remains were laid to rest Saturday, October 22, 1921, in the Belvue cemetery."

Grace Marie Croom, born July 21, 1901 in Kansas, died in Yolo County, California on April 30, 1982.

Jessie M. Luttig and Claude J. Phippen had Larry Claude Phippen on May 25, 1939 in Topeka, Kansas.

In 1940 Linn County, Kansas, Claud Phippen is 27, Jesse 45, Larry ten months, Esther Fawler 24 is Jessie's daughter, with Julis 4 and Roberta 1.

Jessie M. Phippen, born May 3, 1894, died in Sutter County, California October 18, 1975.

Floyd Frederick Ginder 1919-2005 is buried in Topeka # 119435454, with Irene L. Flohrshutz Ginder 1921-2009.
"Floyd Fredrick Ginder, 85, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Midland Hospice House. Floyd was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Belvue, the son of Robert Rial and Jessie Luttig Ginder.
Floyd attended schools at Belvue and Wamego. After moving to Berryton in 1935, he graduated from Berryton High School in 1937. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., in 1975. Floyd enlisted in the 60th Field Artillery Brigade of the Kansas National Guard on Sept 6, 1940, entered federal service on Dec. 23, 1940, was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1942 and was assigned to the 821st Tank Destroyer Division at Fort Carson, Colo., as a platoon commander. Floyd was assigned to the 29th Infantry Division in the European Theatre of Operations, attained the rank of Captain and commanded Company B of the 821st Tank Destroyer Battalion, participating in four campaighns and being awarded the Silver Star. Floyd was discharged from the Army in January 1946 and rejoined the Kansas National Guard. Floyd joined the Topeka Police Department in 1947. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and after serving the Topeka community for 33 years, he retired as assistant chief of police. Floyd was recalled to active duty in 1968 with the 69th Infantry Brigade and served a tour of duty in Vietnam, serving in three campaigns and was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from National Guard in 1973 with the rank of Colonel. Floyd was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, where he served faithfully. Other organizations that Floyd was a member and participated include Golden Rule Lodge No. 90 AF& AM, Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies, Arab Shrine, life member of Capital Post No. 1 of the Americal Legion and Phillip Billard Post No. 1650 of the VFW, the Retired Officers Association, City Retirees Association, American Association of Retired Persons, Past President of the 35th Division Association, Kansas Peace Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 3 and the Saw Dusters Association. Floyd had a passion for woodworking and spread his talents to many.
Floyd married his high school sweetheard, Irene Flohrschutz, at the Post Chapel at Fort Carson, Colo., on Sept. 4, 1942. She survives. Other survivors include their two children and spouses, Janet and Jerry Myers, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Rob and Liz Ginder, Toepka; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Tim Faulkner, Colorado Springs, Colo., Stacy Smith, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jessica, Anna, Madeline and Emma Ginder, Topeka, and David and Samantha Faulkner, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Donna Phippen, Marysville, Calif. Mr. Ginder will lie in state after 2p .m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lowman United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in Penwell-Gabels Memorial Park Cemetery. "

Esther Roberta Ginder was born in Pottawatomie County on April 9, 1916, dying Sept 1, 1999 as Esterr Oldham.

In 1920 Pottawatomie County, Russell Peddicord is farming, 24, born in Kansas, Ida 25 in Colorado, Florence 3 and James 1 in Kansas.

In 1930, Russell is 35, Ida 37, Florence J. 13, James R. 11, Dorothy A. 9, and Anna F. 6.

In 1940 "Richard" Peddicord is 45, Ida 46, James 21, Dorothy 19, and Ann 16.

Ida 1892-1980 is buried in Pottawatomie County # 35203997.
1927 St. George "W.L. Hauldren, who, having been duly sworn according to law, deposes and says that he is the owner of the St. George News."

"Alzira May Domeny (Mrs. W. L. Hauldren), was born near Gillespieville, Ohio on May 2, 1882, and died at her home in St. George, Kansas on Monday, February 7, 1921, aged 38 years, 9 months and 5 days.
On January 25, 1909 she was united in marriage to W. L. Hauldren. To this union three children were born, all of whom survive her. The are: Elanor aged nine, Minnie Bell aged seven, and William Lester aged five.
The deceased came to Kansas with her parents when she was just a young girl, and has lived continuously in this community all her life. She was known and loved for her kind sympathetic disposition. She tried to carry her own burdens, and always listened with sympathy to the complaints of others. However, she was not exempt from the trials and burdens of life, and remarked a few days before her death, that one is not always as well as they look.
Her untimely departure was a shock to her many friends, and the loss in the home is irreparable. She was not a member of any church, but had expressed her wish that she might be, and all who knew her will testify that she lived a good Christian life, and was rearing her children in the Christian faith.
Besides her husband and children, she leaves her father, Mr. George Domeny, four sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Kersey, of Westmoreland, Kansas, Mrs. Mary Heckart, of Carbondale, Kansas, Mrs. Rosa D. Brock, of Wamego, Kansas and a brother, Oscar, of Wamego, Kansas. Her mother passed away on November 6, 1898. There are many other relatives and a host of friends who join with her loved ones in mourning her very sudden death.
Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Episcopal church in Wamego, Kansas, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, February 10, 1921, by the Rev. L. B. Pruitt, pastor of the church and burial was made in the family lot in the cemetery at Wamego, Kansas. "

Miami County, Kansas " Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hauldren were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 27, 1993. Their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hanshew of Scottsbluff, Neb., Mrs. Elizabeth Weist and Allison of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Mrs. And Mrs. Bill Hauldren, Linzi, Erin and Lea were hosts for the day of celebration. Alice Russ and Lester Hauldren were married Feb. 27, 1943, at St. Patrick’s Church in Corning, Kan. Mrs. Hauldren taught in one-room schools before her marriage. Mr. Hauldren, with his father, the late W. L. Hauldren Sr., published the St. George News, The Havensville Review and The Corning Gazette, closing the shop in the early 1940s. He worked at The Horton Headlight before coming to Paola in 1946. He moved his family here when he joined the staff of the Western Spirit."
