"Charles Epperson, 80, of Maryville, Mo., died Oct. 6, 1947,
after a month's illness, and funeral and burial took place last Wednesday from
the Price Funeral Home there. He was the father of Mrs. George R. Harding
of Chattanooga, who went to Maryville for the funeral and is remaining for a
several weeks' visit to her mother. Mr. Epperson had often visited
Mr. and Mrs. Harding here and had many friends in Chattanooga.
Surviving him, in addition to his widow and daughter,
are two sons, George Epperson of Barnard, Mo., and Marvin Epperson
of Galion, Ohio. One son, Merrill, is deceased."

" Dr. Marvin Eugene Epperson, 94, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday at Gabon Community Hospital.
He was born in Maryville, Mo., to the late Charles and Emma (Everhart) Epperson.
In 1933, he married Harriet I. Thylor of Blythe, Ontario. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dr. M. Boyd and wife Anne Epperson of Galion
and William and wife Ruth Ann Epperson of Perrysburg; grandchildren,
Dr. William and Lori Epperson of Volga, S.D., Lynn and Berkly Higgle of Galloway,
Stephen and Aurelia Epperson of Martinez, Ga.,
Joe and Sevanne Epperson of Livermore, Cahf.
and Susan Epperson of Chicago; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lavetta Epperson Harding;
and two brothers, George and Merrill Epperson. A graduate of Maryville High
School, Dr. Epperson graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College, University
of Toronto at Guelph, Canada in 1933. In 1933, Dr. Epperson began his practice
in Gabon at various locations. In 1958, his son, Boyd, joined in the practice.
Dr. Epperson was a member of the Crawford County Veterinary Medical Association,
North Central Ohio VMA, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association where he served
as president in 1969 and American VMA. He served on the Ohio Veterinary
Medical Board for 11 years and received its distinguished service award as
well as serving as president in 1983, In 1962, Dr. Epperson was a member of
President Eisenhower's first People to People tour of Europe.
He helped to begin the Iberia Volunteer Fire Department and had served on the
board of trustees until 2001. In earber years, Dr. Epperson was active in
Gabon Rotary, was a life member of Elks, the Crawford County Humane Society
and a member of the First United Methodist Church. The Eppersons supported
agricultural exchange students and hosted IFYE in 1957.
They raised Aberdeen Angus cattle and standard bred horses.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday at the Mark A. Schneider
Funeral Home, Gabon, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery

" Oct. 21, Lowell M. Archibald died today in Mercy hospital. He was 49, being born on Dec. 22, 1891 in Iowa. He came to Colorado 22 years ago settling in Greeley and in 1925 came to Denver.
He was employed by the Union Pacific railroad until the time of his death. He is survived by his wife Mary, and a son William of Los Angeles. Funeral services will be held Wednesday and the Olinger mortuary and burial will be in Crown Hill"

all of Flagler, with a well-stocked grub wagon, were in town Monday on their way south
to receive 400 head of steers
which they will drive through to summer range in Kit Carson county."

all of Flagler, favored the Ledger office with a pleasant call Tuesday.
The two ladies were delegates to the W. C. T. U. district convention here,
