Mrs. Yapp, 66, died Saturday, April 26, 1986, at a Sterling nursing home.
She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Limon, the daughter of Harold and Christina Swanson Wickham and in 1929 came to Iliff to live with Howard and Bertha Simpson. She attended Iliff schools, graduating from Iliff High School in 1938, and married Armond Genereux the same year.
In 1953 she went to work at St. Benedict Hospital as a nurses' aide, and in 1954 began a 29-year career as bookkeeper for Sterling Sheet Metal in Sterling, retiring in 1983.She married Kenneth E. Yapp in December 1973.
Mrs. Yapp was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and active in projects of veteran's organizations, serving as buddy poppy chairman for many years.
She was past president of the Sterling Jake Uhrig Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, received the State President's Award in 1974 and Black Key Award 1973-74. Mrs. Yapp was a charter member of the Military Order of the Cooties Auxilary unit.
She was also a member of the Sterling American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 20, the Moose Lodge, Humanities Club, a 4-H leader from 1949 to 1964 and was an avid bowler.
Mrs. Yapp is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. "Speck" Yapp of Sterling; a son, Charles Genereux of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Aurora Myers of Sterling and Delores Monheiser of Harrison, Neb.; three step-daughters, Debra Brekel of Fleming, Pat Amen of Sterling and Beverly Thom of Wilcox, Ariz.; a step-son, Kenneth Yapp of Sterling; two brothers, Jack Simpson of Moorcroft, Wyo., and Walt Wickham of Kingsburg, Calif.; three sisters, Evelyn Mullenax of Watsonvilie, Calif., Helen Calder wood of Topeka, Kan., and Alice Nace of Madera, Calif.; 18 grand children and two great-grandchildren.
Hettinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ted R. Wickham, born 10 May 1920, died 28 Jan 2006 (aged 85), buried Flagler Cemetery Flagler, Kit Carson County, Colorado, MEMORIAL ID 15699769.

"Ted R. Wickham was born May 10, 1920 on the homestead farm south of Flagler, Colorado, and died in Burlington, Colorado on January 28, 2006 at the age of 85. He attended the rural Second Central School through the 11th grade, then graduated high school at Flagler.
Ted married Irene Loutzenhiser in Denver on June 24, 1941, and the couple made their home on a farm 20 miles north of Flagler. Married 54 years, the Wickhams had a son and two daughters.
Ted served during World War II in the U. S. Navy aboard the battleship, U. S. S. New Mexico. In Flagler, he was active in the American Legion and in the Baptist church, and he was especially proud of the famous Kit Carson County Carousel in Burlington.
A Kit Carson County Commissioner for 14 years, Ted believed his service was as valuable for him as for the citizens of the county. "You get to meet some of the finest people in the world," he once remarked. Over the years, he also served with the East Central RC&D board, the Criminal Justice Planning Council, the Kit Carson County Jail Study Committee and the Region V Transportation Committee. Around 25 years ago, he served on both the regional and state drought councils.
Funeral services for Ted Wickham were held February 1 at the Flagler Baptist Church, with buried in the Flagler Cemetery with military honors. Memorials in Ted's name may be made to the Flagler Baptist Church or to the Kit Carson County Carousel, and may be left with the High Plains Bank in Flagler"

"Holtzinger, Evangeline Veronica Died May 22, 2009, at age 87.
The daughter of William Wickham and Anna Rose Valenta Wickham, she was tenth of twelve children that grew up on a farm near Flagler, Colorado. Van was a good student and athlete. She graduated salutatorian and was the center on the Flagler High School basketball championship team. She also won Joint Honor Scholarship to Colorado Teachers College at Greeley, a career cut short by a whirlwind courtship and marriage to her husband of 54 years, Gerald R. Holtzinger.
She is preceded in died by all of her brothers, Harold, Foster, William, John, Theodore Roosevelt and Thomas Wickham; and sisters, Myrtle Irene Stinton, Malvina Emogene Wickham, Anna Rose Short, Geneva Ione Tolton, and Ruth Emogene Berry. Also preceding her are her husband, Gerald, and her elder son, Gerald, Jr.
Van is survived by her daughter, Sharon Richardson, her husband K. Spence, their sons, Levi and Luke; her son, Terry Holtzinger, and his wife Charlene, and their sons Chad and Jonathan; her daughter, Ronna Burrows, her husband Larry, their children Brad, Sarah, Katie, and Laura, and 7 great grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at North Presbyterian Church, 37th and Federal Blvd., Denver at 1:00 Saturday, May 30th. "

Thomas Lee Wickham Born May 29, 1927 in Flagler, Colorado.
Left for greener pastures October 10, 2007. Tom was a cowboy, a bronc buster and bull rider. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Navy stationed on Guam. He was a Boeing Machinist for 37 years. The youngest of twelve siblings, a husband and father, he was preceded in died by his wife Lona. He is survived by his children Lee (Lori), Lyman (Melissa) and Ione, and grandchildren Rhiannon, Jessie, Jenny, Nichole, Christopher, and great-granddaughter Aileena.
Dad, We know you've taken "Ole Prince" and are driving the cattle from the high pasture down to the winter feed. Know that in the spring we will join you for the calving and keep a candle burning in the window of the old homestead until we get there."
