Each of them has filed on some government land in Colorado and they will return this fall to look after it. Mr. Brown will go from here to New York City on a pleasure trip."

"Clyde Bruce Brown, 83, of Belleville, Illinois, born Nov. 20, 1921, in Falls City, Nebraska, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, Illinois.
Mr. Brown was retired division sales manager for Brooks Foods. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lottie, nee Blackwell, Brown; his first wife, Kathryn, nee Gaffney, Brown; a brother, Bryon Brown and a step great-granddaughter.
Surviving are his wife, Rachel, nee Boston, Brown, to whom he was married for 16 years; three daughters, Maggie (Bill Hunphey) Brown of Los Angeles, California, Elizabeth Brown of Los Angeles, California, and Judith Ann (George) Wilder of Aurora, Illinois; two sons, Clyde B. (Maureen) Brown Jr., of Kingston, Illinois, and Shawn (Jenell) Brown of Kingston, Illinois; two step-children, Karen Probst of Belleville, Illinois, and Michael (Dianne) Waitukaitis of California; a sister, Marie Hurd of Golden City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jessica Brown and Zachery Brown; and seven step-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Brown Family.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Kurrus Chapel, Belleville, Illinois, with the Rev. Matt Friz officiating.
Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery, St. Jacob, Illinois. MEMORIAL ID 109983394.
