Anna Nickel, born in 1874, arrived from Strassburg via Bremen on July 2, 1878.


In 1880 Marion County, Kansas, Cornelius Kliewer is 50, farming, , Maria W. 55, Henry 20, and Zacharias 12, all born in Poland.

Henry, age 26, was naturalized in 1892 in Marion County, saying he was born in Russia.

In 1900, Henry is in Kit Carson County, a stock raiser, born February 1866, married 7 years to Anna born November 1874, both in Germany. Henry Nov 1893, William October 1894, Mattie E. March 1897, and Elmer January 1898 were all born in Colorado.

Widenheimyr were the brother Masons from Flagler who came down to attend the funeral of George Rose. The resident members who assisted in the service were: G. W. Klockenteger, A. M. Blumberg, and W. S. Bruton. "

1936 Red Cliff Colorado "Mrs. H. H. Kliewer, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. James Collins, and family, left on No. 2 Sunday for Manitou, where she will visit several days before returning to her home in Flagler."

In 1940 Kit Carson County, Anna Kliewer is widowed, living with daughter Agnes 25 born in Colorado, a drugstore clerk and her husband Arthur Taylor 40 born in Kansas, a livestock dealer. Arthur was in Goodland in 1935.

Will Kliewer, 22, and Josie L. Rillehan married in Kit Carson County on November 11, 1916.

1910 Brown County, Kansas, Thomas Rellahan was a railroad section foreman, 51, born in Iowa, Catherine Rellahan 34 Pennsylvania, Fay Rellahan Son 15 Kansas, Josie Rellahan 13 Kansas, and Tedie Rellahan Son, 1, Kansas.

In 1885 Pella, Iowa, John Rillahan is 57, Catherine Rillahan 50, Thmothy T. Rillahan 26, John Rillahan, Junior 24. Dinah T. Rillahan 22, Johanna Rillahan 17, and Michell T. Rillahan 15.

T. T. Rillahan married Flora Popma on October 13, 1886 in Mahaska County, Iowa.
He was the son of John Rillahan and Catherine King.

In 1930 Flagler, Timothy T. Rellahan is 71, born in Iowa, Katherine M. 52 Pennsylvania, "Jay" 32 and Teddy W. 21, both born in Kansas.

In 1930 Flagler, William is a lumber merchant, 34, with Josepohine L. 31 and June L. 12.

In 1940, managing a lumber company, William is 45, Josephine 40, and Billie K. 6.

September 1941 Red Cliff, Eagle County, Colorado "Mr. and Mrs. Will Kliewer and family of Flagler, Colo., were visiting the Jim Collins home over the holidays."

"Robert (Lloyd) Goodrich was born February 10, 1934 near Byers, Colorado. He was the third child of Robert (Bob) Goodrich and Orpha Jensen-Goodrich. Less than a year after his birth his oldest sibling Dolores pass away from what was known as “dust pneumonia.” Times were tough, and in 1940 his family relocated to Flagler, Colorado where Bob had found a steady job working for the county.
The family bought a tiny home on Pawnee Street where Lloyd, his older brother Gerald, and younger brother Harold were all raised. Lloyd had a happy childhood. He particularly enjoyed cars and football. The Flagler High School burned down during his senior year. Lloyd, none the less, graduated in 1952 after attending classes that were held at the Flagler American Legion.
Lloyd's high school sweetheart, Billie Kliewer, had graduated in 1951 and was working at Williams Pharmacy while she waited for him to graduate. Upon gradation they married in August 1952. They started college in La Junta, Colorado where Lloyd was going to play football. After a short time in college (and a broken leg from playing football), Lloyd and Billie returned to Flagler where he worked for Billie's dad, Will Kliewer, in his hardware store. In early 1954 Lloyd was drafted. He did is basic training in Fort Leonardwood, MO. Billie joined him after basic training and they lived in Maryland for a short time. Lloyd then went to Japan and was honorably discharged in March of 1956.
Lloyd then took a job in Deer Trail working for Port of Entry. Soon after, the couple were expecting their first child and moved back “home” to Flagler. In December of 1957, their only child Tami was born. Lloyd got a job with the Soil Conservation Service in Flagler and spent his Saturday's working as a mechanic for Fruhling-Rowe garage. Lloyd and Billed had purchased a home on Julian Avenue and rented the basement out for several years to make ends meet. They lived in this home until Billie's death in November 2017. Lloyd moved to Aspen Leaf Care Facility in February 2018.
Lloyd was proceeded in death by his Mother, Orpha, his father, Robert, his wife Billie Kay, and brother Gerald. He is survived by his daughter Tami (John) Witt, Grandsons Brian (Heather) Witt, Chris (Julie) Witt, David (Mindy) Witt, five great grandchildren, Macie, Maddy, Zach, Lexie and Peyton and his brother Harold (Min) Goodrich. "

WALTER

Walter Ernest Kliewer, 23, married Lura Doris Bickel on August 24, 1921 in Greeley.
He's a lumberyard manager in Arriba, Colorado in 1930, 32, with Lura D. 29.

Walter is buried in Colorado Springs 1897-1975 # 85630881, with Lura 1900-1999 # 143595072.
Lura's father Louis W. Bickel 1860-1946 was in Palisade Colorado in 1920, and died March 28, 1946 in Los Angeles County, buried in Kimball, Nebraska # 88928736, with Jennie Beard Bickel 1869-1966 # 88928371.
"Louis was the son of Karl (Carl) August Bickel (1833-1912) and Rebecca Goldsmith (1840-1913). In 1887 he married Jennie Beard, daughter of George W Beard. Ten children were born to Louis and Jennie: Carl, George, Iris, Margaret, Winifred, Eloise, Laura, Eva, infant daughter and Alice.
Karl August established in 1886 the first bank in Antelopeville (later Kimball) and appointed Louis as manager of the bank. He was the first treasurer of all the area of Western Nebraska, then known as Cheyenne County. Later the hugh area was divided and he was elected to serve as one of the first commissioners of the newly formed Kimball County, serving several terms. Louis also served two terms as the first treasurer of Kimball County.
Also interested in ranching, Louis wanted to upgrade the quality of the range cattle raised here and he brought the first registered Hereford bull "Great Brittan" to this area from England. "
HARRY

Harry Kliewer, 28, married Lora Mae Moore on June 16, 1922.


In 1940 Colorado Springs, Harry is 46, Lora Mae 39, Lawrence W. 16, and Harriet N. 14.



Harry, born Nov 2, 1893, died September 15, 1977.

"NEWPORT NEWS VIRGINIA - Lora M. Kliewer, 91, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1990, in Riverside Regional Convalescent.
Mrs. Kliewer was a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., and a Peninsula resident for 27 years. She was a past member of Second Congregational Church in Colorado; and a graduate of Greeley State Teachers College, Greeley, Colo. She was past member of The Eber Duclo post No. 39; American Legion Auxiliary, Manitou Springs, Colo.; and a charter member for more than 50 years of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ruxton Chapter. During World War II she was in charge of the hostesses of the U.S.O. in Manitou Springs.
Survivors include a daughter, Harriet K. Harper; and a son, L.W. Kliewer, both of Newport News.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. Harold J. McKeithen. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the home of the son and requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Peninsula S.P.C.A or a favorite charity. "
Harriet M. Kliewer, 24, married Robert L. Harper, 28 in Los Angeles on September 7, 1950.

Harriet Kliewer Harper, born January 15, 192 in Manitou Springs, wife of Bob Harper, died in 2013 in New port News.

Lawrence W. Kliewer, 25, married Erah E. Hatten on Decemer 28, 1948 in New port News.

Lawrence is buried in Newport News 1923-2006 # 107458660.
" L.W. 'Duff' Kliewer died at home surrounded by his family on December 23, 2006. Although born and raised in Manitou Springs, Colorado, he has resided in Newport News since 1946. Duff is survived by his wife of 58 years, Erah Hatten Kliewer; a sister, Harriet Harper, of Newport News; one son, L.W. ?Duff? Kliewer, Jr. and partner, of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Linda Kliewer and partner of Portland, Oregon; a daughter and son-in-law Lora & Lin Howerton of Newport News; granddaughter, Kacie Howerton and grandson Ethan Howerton. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Dr. John Q. Hatten, wife Mary Lou and family. A fighter pilot in WWII, he came to Langley Air Force Base in 1945 and served as Public Relations Officer for Airways and Air Communication Service. Later he was assigned to the Air Transport Command in Washington D.C. Upon his discharge in late 1946, Duff returned to the peninsula to attend The College of William & Mary and became a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. While in college, Duff joined WVEC Radio as their Sports and Program Director. After graduating from William & Mary's School of Business in 1950, he began working fulltime at WVEC and became the voice of the Newport News Dodgers. Also, he was the play-by-play announcer of high school and college basketball and football, baseball's American Legion, Little League Regional and National Tournaments, Powerboat Races, Golf Tournaments and boxing and wrestling matches in Tidewater and Richmond. In 1953 Duff became the recipient of the Virginia Associated Press Sports Broadcasting Award. In 1990 he received the Peninsula Sports Club Charles Karmosky Award. From 1952 to 1964, Duff served as the Operations Manager of WVEC AM-FM-TV. He became the Vice-President in charge of Operations and Cable TV in 1964. In 1984 he retired from WVEC Channel 13, Corinthian Broadcasting, as their Corporate Vice President. After WVEC he continued to work in the field of Cable Television as a visionary pioneer for its future development. Duff's dedication to the field of television led him to serve as the President of the Virginia Cable Television Association. He received the Meritorious Service Award in 1989. He served on the Executive Committee of the National Cable Television Association and received the Outstanding Chairman Award of the Legislative Committee in 1971. Duff served on the Newport News Planning Commission for 16 years, the last nine as chairman. Other community services included serving on the Newport News Zoning Board, Peninsula Community Service Planning Council, The Community Theater, The Hampton Rotary Club, Peninsula Alumni Chapter of William & Mary and William & Mary's Educational Foundation. In recognition of his dedication and service to the growth and development of the Newport News Peninsula, Duff received the Peninsula Man of the Year Award in 1958. Duff's first love was for his family, and his second, as known to his friends, was golf and sports. He was the past president of the Peninsula Sports Club, James River Golf & Country Club, Virginia State Golf Association, Middle Atlantic Golf Association, and a past member of the Southern Golf Association Board of Governors. In 1996 he was honored to serve on the Library and Museum Committee of the United States Golf Association, and until his death he remained an active consultant. Duff was a member of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church during his life as a peninsula resident. His funeral will be held at the Hidenwood Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at the Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News. "

ELMER

Elmer G. Kliewer, 25, married Viola C. Schmid on June 24, 1924 in Colorado Springs.
Viola was in Kit Carson County in 1920, 17, with George S. Schmid 43, Sylvia S. 37, Harry E. 15, Edna A. 13, Hergert G. 11, and Mildred E. 9

Elmer is working in a lumber yard in Seibert in 1940, 41, with Viola C. 37, Viron D. 13 and Douglas B. 9.

Viola, born Sept 25, 1902, died in December 1986, last residence Westminster, Colorado.

Viron D. KLiwewer 1927-2016 is buried in Florida National # 176293523, with Lorraine M. Kliewer dying in 2017.
"Lorraine M. Kliewer, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2017. Her husband, Viron, beat her to heaven by about 4 months. She was a wonderful Mother of two loving sons, has five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She raised her family in Colorado before moving to Leesburg, Florida about 20 years ago. Together, with her husband of 64 years, they spent many days on cruise ships and visited many ports-of-call on all seven continents. She is now in the loving hands of her heavenly Father and will be missed by all. The service will be held Monday March 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, Florida. There will be a procession to Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell after the service where she will be laid to rest next to her husband."

He is survived by his daughters Kim (John) Sharstrom, and Cassie (Steve) Cunningham; son Kris (Susan) Kliewer; brother Viron (Lorraine) Kliewer; also 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Randi, Scott, Charlotte, and Jeff. Services Wednesday, at Newcomer Family West Metro Chapel. Interment Crown Hill Cemetery. "

Irma was teaching school in Minturn in 1927 and 1928.

Irma Lois Kliewer, 21, married James Collins on June 26, 1928. The marriage was in Flagler, but recorded in Eagle County.

In 1930 Minturn, James is a bookkeeper in a general store, 27, with Irma K. 22 and his mother Lara, 66, born in Sweden.

Irma, 1907-2003 dying in San Marcos, California, is buried in Greeley # 16692296, with James A. Collins 1902-1990.

" Irma K. Collins, 96, of San Marcos, Calif., formerly of Greeley, died Monday, Dec. 1, at her home.
She was born Sept. 5, 1907, in Flagler to Henry H. and Anna (Nickel) Kliewer.
She grew up in Flagler and graduated from Flagler High School in 1925 as valedictorian of her class. She attended Colorado Teachers College, now the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley and received her life certificate to teach in 1927. She moved to Minturn to teach and there she met James A. Collins. They were married June 26, 1928 at her parents’ home in Flagler. They lived in Minturn until moving to Greeley so Mr. Collins could attend college while she worked at the Greeley Dry Goods Store. They returned to Minturn, where they owned a dry goods store and Mrs. Collins taught. She returned to Greeley in 1950 to finish her four-year degree. She earned a masters degree in 1952. She taught business and typing classes at Meeker and John Evans junior high schools until she retired in 1972.
Mrs. Collins and her husband traveled extensively and she logged 25 years as a volunteer at North Colorado Medical Center. She also coordinated a trip a month for five years for AARP. Earlier this year she was presented her 75-year pin in Eastern Star. She moved to California in September. Mr. Collins died April 16, 1990.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Greeley. She also was a member of the Garden City Chapter No. 3, Order of Eastern Star; Mahi Shrine No. 18, White Shrine of Jerusalem; AARP, American Association of University Women and the National Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors are two sons, J. Richard Collins and wife Betty of Escondido, Calif., and Larry Lee Collins and wife Karen of Estes Park; seven grandchildren, Kelly Maples of Murrieta, Calif., Kyle Collins of Yucaipa, Calif., Kevin Collins of Cold Springs, Nev., Gwendolyn Galand of Sand Point, Idaho, Mark Collins of Roanoke, Va., Pamela Kinniston of Rockland, Minn., and Dale Hillin of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and 18 great-grandchildren. Her parents, a sister and four brothers are deceased.
A celebration of life will be at a later date. Cremation. Inurnment will be at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens."
