James V. and Myrtle (Paisley) McClure, 8 South 45 West



Myrtle is a relative of William Paisley, who claimed land in the same township.
James claimed a quarter in section 31, 8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1891.

There's a James V. McClure in 1900 Wright County, Iowa, born July 1864, farming, married 15 years to Myrtle Feb 1864, Rosa J. July 1885, Della E. Nov 1889, and Willaim B> July 1891, all born in Iowa.

Frances Myrtle Paisley was in Louisa County, Iowa in 1870, with Robert 31, and Margaret 27. Sidney is 8, Jeremiah 6, and John 4.
Robert 1837-1901 is buried in Louisa County # 121111068, with Eliza Jane (Swan) Paisley 1841-1917 # 7277018.

February 1938 Muscatine, Iowa " Mrs. Myrtle McClure, who had spent six weeks with her sisters, Mrs J. W. Hoover, Columbus Junction, Mrs. J. H. Rodmck, Columbus City, and her sister-in-law Mrs. W. C. Swan, Morning Sun, returned Tuesday to her home at Winterset. She was accompanied by Frank McClure, of Spokane, Wash., who had been visiting his sister. Mrs. Swan will also visit at Winterset and return here for a longer...."

1964 Emmetsburg, Iowa "Mrs. Myrtle McClure of Earlham, who marked her 100th birthday anniversary the past is the grandmother of Mrs. Robert Eagan of Pocahontas. Mr. and Mrs. Eagan, son and daughter-in-law of the E. Eagans here, attended the anniversary event. "

William Paisley McClure 1891-1981, dying in Des Moines, is buried in Winterset # 12195223.
"Funeral services for William Paisley McClure, a long-time resident of Madison county, were held this Wednesday morning, July 15, from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
Mr. McClure died July 12, 1981, at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He was 89 years of age.
A son of James and Myrtle Paisley McClure, he was born at Morning Sun, Iowa on July 25, 1891.
Mr. McClure farmed northwest of Winterset for many years, retiring to Winterset in 1979.
He was married to Nellie Breeding on Dec. 30, 1933. A veteran of World War I, he was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, and held the offices of district lecturer and master. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Rose and Della Smith.
Officiating at the funeral this Wednesday was the Rev. Scott Grotewold. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery, with Masonic and Legion graveside rites."
