Shirwood Howerton, daughter Ella (Howerton) Braden, daughter Nora Howerton, son Shelton Howerton, mother-in-law Charlotte Fry, 8 South 45 West



In 1850 Coshocton County, Ohio, Ann Fry is 15, with George 50 farming, and Charlotte V. 40. John is 15, Mary 12, Edwin G. 11, Samuel 11, Vorees 8, Amanda 8, and Rhoda 3.

In 1860 Madison County, Iowa, George Fry is 62, Charlotte 50, Mary Jane 23, Samuel 21, and Rhoda 14. Charlotte's mother Elizabeth Garberson / Guiberson is 73, born in New Jersey.

George C. Fry 1799-1870 is buried in Madison County # 128590446.

Mary Jane (Fry) Shull 1837-1925 is buried in Winterset, Iowa # 13741598,

One post said that John Fry married Eliza Jane Smith,, moved with daughter Mary to Nebraska, and died in 1862, leaving Jane with May a, fie, and a dauger born a week after John's death. Jane maried a Miller nine years later, having Charles , and a stillborn girl, and another girl Ona. Mary Margearet Fry married Joseph Lemuel Niman at the age of 14."
In 1860 Cass County, Nebraska, John is 26, Jane 23, and Mary 3. Thoamas Fry is 21.

Charlotte Fry is in Hall County, Nebraska in 1880, age 70, with daughter Rhoda Bidleman 32 and her husband Samuel 38. SamOtto P. is 11, Samuels W. 9, and Melville 4.
Charlotte claimed a quarter in section 35, 8S 45W in 1891.


Samuel Beidelman was the sheriff of Kit Carson County 1890-1891.

Rhoda is in El Paso County, Colorado in 1900, born Sept 1847 in Ohio, married 33 years to Sam Biedelman born Oct 1839 in Indiana. Otto was born Nov 1868 in Iowa, and Rhoda's mother Charlotte Fry born March 1810 in Pennsylvania is with them.

January 30, 1901 Falcon, Colorado "Grandma Frye, mother of Mrs. S. Beidleman, died Friday morning at 1 o'clock a. m. of a paraletic stroke. She was almost 91 years of age and was a much beloved old lady. She was buried Saturday at Evergreen cemetery, Colorado Springs. Among the relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Biedleman of Goodland Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. Braden of Roswell."


SHERWOOD
Madison County, Iowa marriages 1852 "Sherwood Howerton to Ann Fry"

Alice V. "Hawerton" March 25, 1854-October 17, 1855 is buried in the Winterset cemetery.

In 1856 Madison County, Iowa, Sherwood Howerton is 30, born in Kentucky, with Ann 21 in Ohio. They have Mary E. 3 and Bud newborn born in OIowa.

In 1860 Madison County, Sherwood is a teamster, 34, Ann 25, Mary Ellen 7, Samuel E. 2, and Emma Eldora 1.
Living with them are Nathaniel Nichols 10 born in Ohiohio and Andrew J. 8, born in Illinois.
(Nathaniel Frye Nichols was in Coshocton County, Ohio in 1850, newborn, with Fleet Nichols 20 and Elizabeth 19.
So they are likely nephews of Ann...

In 1870 Madison County, Sherwood is farming, 46, with Ann 36, Ella 17, Noah 10, and Sheldon 4, all three born in IOwa.

In 1880 Madison County, S. Howerton is farming, 54, with A. 45. Nora is 20, and S. is 14.

"Shirwood" claimed a quarter in section 25, 8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1891.

In 1900, they're in Hall County, Nebraska. Sherwood born July 1825 in Kentucky, no occupation, with Ann Sept 1834 (although they put the age as 55) Ann has has seven kids, three living. Those must be Ella, Sheldon and Alice. So Nora has died....

Sherwood Howerton was buried Sept 21, 1903 in Colorado Springs # 34860913.
Anna Howerton was buried September 12, 1906 in Colorado Springs, per # 34860909.

Thomas Howerton was buried October 27, 1907 in the same block.


ELLA

Jerome O. Braden cash-claimed a quarter in 3, 9S 45W in 1891, and timber-claimed another in 1907.

SHELTON

Shelton claimed a quarter in section 26, 8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1891.

Doniphan, Hall County, Nebraska "Various custodians of the peace and welfare of the village have been A. Bomgardner, Shelt Howerton, Jas. Newman, C. N. Moore, W. E. Sweney, Orville Ellsworth, C. N. Munroe and others back in the 'nineties.""

In 1900 Hall County, Nebraska, Shelton has no occupation, born Oct 1865 in Iowa, married ten years to Kathy Oct 1875 Missouri. Maggie was born June 1891 in Missouri, Ira C. Oct 1894 and Thomas C. Sept 1896 in Nebraska.

Shelton is a meat cutter in 1910 Denver, widowed, with Ira C. 15 and Frances 17.

In 1920 Denver, Shelton is widowed, 51 born in Iowa, a railroad carpenter, living alone.

Ira C. Howerton 1893-1971 is buried in Pacific, Missouri # 42225451, with Lucille Haber( Howerton 1895-1961.

NORA

Nora claimed a quarter in section 27, 8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1891.
