October 1950 Colton, California " A surprise announcement of the engagement of Marjorie Sharp
to Kenneth Hall was made to guests at a dinner party held last night at the home of the bride-elect's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Sharp, 765 West street. The engagement was revealed in a clever manner.
Small notes were placed in decorated egg shells, and then passed out to the guests.
The occasion also served as a surprise birthday party for Mrs. Herbert Sharp. A birthday cake,
completed with decorations and candles was presented to the honoree.
Preceding the Spanish dinner, a wedding rehearsal was held at the Methodist Church in preparation for
the marriage of Miss vivian Sharp to Charles Taylor. This ceremony will take place this evening at eight
o'clock.
During the dinner party, Miss Sharp presented her gifts to the members of her bridal party.
Those present were: Miss Gladys Pugh, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Riddell, Hal Taylor Patti,
Mrs. Bud Metters and children Sherry and Eddie, Miss Leona Whitted, Miss Marjorie Sharp,
Miss Barbara Brown, Miss Vivian Sharp, Mrs. Herbert Sharp, Mrs. Minnie Sharp, Ruhie Powell,
Kenneth Hall, Duane Sharp, Chailes Tayloi, and Rev. W. A. Jennings."
