James Molyneux married Esther Tomlinson of Oldham, England
Their son Watson was born July 13, 1846 in Forks Township, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.
In 1850 Bradford County, Pennsylvania, James is 34, born in Pennsylvania, Esther 25 in England, Watson 4 and sister E.T. 2, both born in Pennsylvania
In 1860 Pike County, Pennsylvania, James "Mullineaux" is a miller,
59, Ester 58, both born in England. James is 23, Emeline 16, John 12, and Mary 9, all four born in Pennsylvania.
In 1870, James is 53, Esther 43, Edward 21, Margarett 15, Jabe 13, Clara 11, Frank 9, Joseph 7, Chas 5, and Fred 3.
(James Molyneux is widowed in 1900 Bradford County,
84, with son Edward 52 and his wife Mary 49. James is buried in Sullivan County , dying July 16, 1901 # 63970628.
"James Molyneux , of Overton, the father of our townsman, Chas. E. Molyneux, died Tuesday morning, July 16, 1901, aged 84 years, 8 months and 24 days.
The funeral and interment was at Overton, On Friday July 19.
He was a son of Edward Molyneux, one of the first settlers of Sullivan County, who came from England 107 years ago and established a home for himself in the forest near where the village of Millview now stands. In early manhood he married Esther Tomlinson, who died several years ago.
There survived six sons and three daughters as follows: Watson, of Iowa; Edward, of Overton; Jabez, of New Albany; Joseph of Nebraska; Charles E. of Dushore; and Frederick of Wilkes-Barre; the daughters are Mrs. Job McCarty, of Elkland; Mrs. Rowe, of Forks township and Mrs. David Warburton, of Iowa.
Throughout his long life Mr. Molyneux was ever one of the most respected men in the community where he lived, and in whose death one can truly feel that it is a case of a faithful servant called to his reward. His death was caused by the weakness incident to old age.
Mary A. Dagney, 18, married Watson F. Molyenaux
on November 20, 1869 in Black Hawk County, Iowa.
In 1870 Black Hawk County, Iowa, Watson Molyneux is farming,
23, born in Pennsylvania, with Mary 17 in New Jersey.
Wesley is a farm laborer, 24, born in Pennsylvania.
In 1880 Black Hawk County, W.T. is 33, Mary 27, Florence 9,
Jennie 5, and Karl (Harley) 3. With them is Mary's sister Nellie Dagan, 17, born in Illinois.
October 1882 Waterloo, Iowa "On Monday the 10th
of October at the residence of W. F. Molyneux
4 miles northeast of Rheinbeck and 5 miles southwest
of Hudson a fine lot of graded stock, farm implements."
December 1882 Waterloo " On the 30th ult at the
residence of W. F. Molyneux in Lincoln township,
Mr. George Porterfield of Reinbeck and Miss Lizzie Dagney,
sister of Mrs Molyneux were married by Rev. R. H. Thomas
of Reinbeck officiating.
The occasion witnessed the gathering of a large number
of invited guests and it was indeed a very pleasant
affair."

1890 Hawarden. Iowa "Fred Molyneux, brother of our efficient postmaster,
who has been here the past two weeks visiting, returned to Cherokee Tuesday."
1893 Hawarden, Iowa "Postmaster Molyneux, wife and daughter, of Hawarden,
were the guests of C. A. Lamb and family Sunday. Miss Molyneux came up on her bicycle.

1894 Hawarden Iowa "Misses Jennie Molyneux, Bertha Ross,
Anna Bogan and Elsie Sweley were at Orange City Saturday for examination for
teachers' certificates. "
In 1895 W.F. Molyneux has an address of Hawarden, Iowa, an carpenter, 58, married.
Mrs. W.F. Molyneaux's death is in the Sioux County, Iowa newspaper of September 3, 1896.
She's buried in Grace Hill Cemetery, Sioux County - February 2, 1854-September 29, 1896, Block 24, Lot 3.

In 1905, W.F. Molyneux and Mary E. Molyneux are in the Hawarden, Iowa census.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Watson is farming, 63, with Mary 57, both born in Pennsylvania.
This is Mary (McCray)(Woodside), whose husband Marquis Woodside died in October
1881, with a newspaper mention in Sioux County, Iowa.
In 1880 Union County, Dakota Territory, Mark is 33, Mary 27, James 10, and Roy 4.

"James Woodside of Sioux City, Iowa,
and Roy Woodside of Minneapolis, Minnesota,
arrived Saturday morning to visit their mother
Mrs. W. F. Molyneaux. They returned Sunday
night and were accompanied by their mother
who is returning for her health."
Watson is widowed in 1920 Saint Cloud, Osceola County, Florida 73.
In 1930 Gary, Indiana, Watson is 83, widowed, and daughter Florence Harris 59 born in Iowa is widowed.
September 29, 1932 Hawarden, Iowa
"Mrs. W. F. Molyneaux, a former resident of
Hawarden, died Sept. 23rd at the home of her son,
Jas. Woodside, in Sioux City,
following a stroke of paralysis. She was 59 years
of age and besides her husband was survived by two
sons, Jas. Woodside of Sioux City and Roy Woodside
of Minneapolis. " This might have been a "20 year ago event", because Iowa death records have Mary E. Molyneaux dying Sept 23, 1912 in Woodbury County, Iowa, age, 59, daughter of Samuel McCray.
Watson is buried in Gary, Indiana # 75030997.

Enlisted 3/24/1864
Captured at Cold Harbor, Virginia, on 6/10/1864. Held captive at Libby Prison in Virginia and Andersonville, Georgia but was transferred to Camp Lawton, Millen, Georgia on 11/11/1864. Released on 11/26/1864, and exchanged at Savannah, Georgia. At war's end, the 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry and the 22nd Pennsylvania Cavalry were consolidated to form the 3rd Pennsylvania Provisional Cavalry. He was mustered out with Company F, 3rd PA Provisional Cavalry on 10/31/1865. He is also listed as Molynerix.
Born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania on 7/13/1846. Lived in Hawarden, Iowa and Burlington, Colorado after the war. Married Miss Mary Dagney on 11/20/1869. Filed for a pension on 6/4/1880, application #376,309; certificate #312,195 from Iowa. Died on 10/8/1935 at the age of 89 in Lake County, Indiana. Buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Gary, Lake County, Indiana.

DEATH OF FORMER RESIDENT
Watson F. Molyneaux Passed Away at Gary, Ind., Oct 7th.
Watson F. Molyneaux, early day Hawarden resident, Civil War veteran and former postmaster here, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Florence Harris, in Gary, Ind., Oct. 7th. Death was due to infirmities of advanced age. He celebrated his 89th birthday anniversary last July 13th. Mr. Molyneaux was a past state commander of the Indiana G.A.R. and was one of two surviving members of William A. Ketcham Post, No. 593, G.A.R., at Gary, which on Feb. 12 , 1923, received the final charter granted by the G.A.R.
Military honors were accorded at the burial of Mr. Molyneaux at Gary on Oct. 9th, members of the American Legion officiating at military services, following the funeral service at the First Congregational church there.
The Gary Post-Tribune contained the following obituary:
"Mr. Molyneaux was born in Sullivan county, Pennsylvania in 1846. He was reared in Pennsylvania. At the outbreak of the Civil War, he enlisted in the 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry, while 18 years of age and served until Oct. 31, 1865, when he was discharged at Cumberland, Md.
"His Civil War experiences were many and varied and included imprisonment in Libby prison, historically the most terrible of confederate prisons.
"After the Civil War, according to autobiographical notes, he took Horace Greeley's advice and came west to grow up with the country. In 1868, he started farming near Waterloo, Iowa, He farmed in Iowa for 35 years and. Subsequently, eight more years in Colorado before retiring in 1911 when he came to Gary.
"He belonged to a truly Civil War family. Three of his uncles were in the Union army and one wore confederate gray. Seventeen of his cousins also were Yankee soldiers.
"While residing in Iowa, he served six years as postmaster of Hawarden, in Sioux county, by appointment of President Harrison.
"His father, Edward Molyneaux, was English, settling in Pennsylvania long before the Civil War. His father was active in civic affairs and held various township offices in Bradford county, Pennsylvania.
"Like his father, Mr. Molyneaux was active in Republican politics and held township offices in Blackhawk county, Iowa.
"Though he did not participate in any major battles he was in a number of skirmishes during the war and was taken prisoner at Cold Harbor, on June 10, 1864. He was held prisoner in Libby, Andersonville, Milan, and Savannah prisons until Nov. 28, 1864, when he was paroled.
"His wife was Mary A. Dagman whom he married in Waterloo.
They had three children, Mrs. Harris, with whom Mr. Molyneaux made his home
in Gary for the last several years;
another daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Benedict of Flint, Mich.,
and a son, Harley Molyneaux of Chicago.
Mrs. Molyneaux died years ago. The children all survive as well as six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
"He was final commander of William A. Ketcham post four years before the membership dwindled so much that it became inactive. He was given the title of honorary commander which he held at his death.
"Mr. Molyneaux was state commander in 1928-1929 and past commander of the Mansfield post, G.A.R. in Hawarden, Iowa. He as patriotic instructor of William A. Ketcham post here and also served in the same capacity for the former 10th congressional district at G.A.R. encampments.
"Other former offices in the G.A.R. held by Mr. Molyneaux included junior vice-department commander of the 45th annual state encampment and senior vice-commander of the 47th encampment.
"Following the annual custom, Memorial Day services in Gary next year will be held at Mr. Molyneaux's grave. The G.A.R. annually pays tribute to the last succumbing member of the post by holding services at the grave.
"In addition to patriotic affiliations, Mr. Molyneaux was a member of the Odd Fellows' lodge in Waterloo, Iowa."

Harley Hamilin Molyneaux registered for WWI in Chicgo, living at 1511 E. 69th Place. He was born Sept 25, 1876, and is a car agent for tthe Illinois Steel Company of 210 S. Lasalle St.
In 1920, Harley is a traffic director for a steel mill, 43, born in Iowa,
with Margaret 42 Ohio. Gladys J. 17, Marion B. 13, Wilber F. 7, and Mildred L. 6 all born in Illinois.
In 1930 Harley and Margureite have Marjorie 23, Wilbur 17, and Marion 16.
In 1940 Chicago, Mrguerite Molyneaux is 62, married but no spouse,
Marjorie a bookkeeper for an oil company is 34.
Harley died in Cook County on January 10, 1950.
In Tucson, Arizona is a tombstone with
Marguerite Molyneaux 1878-1943 # 51628991 and Harley 1877-1959 # 51628990.
Marjorie B. Molyneaux, born Feb 17, 1906, died September 26, 1988.
She's buried in Tucson # 51628992, with Marion 1915-2003 # 7116752 "Beloved sisters"
"MOLYNEAUX, Marion Louise, long time Tucson resident, passed away in her home Sunday, evening, January 19, 2003. She was born August 20, 1913 in Gary, Indiana.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Marguarite; two sisters, Marjorie and Gladys and a brother, Wilbur.
She is survived by a nephew, Bruce Alan Cross of Mexico City, Mexico. Marion was a teacher, a business woman and a world traveler who enjoyed relaxing by playing golf and bridge. Her generosity and quick wit will surely be missed by many loving friends.
Private graveside services are pending at Evergreen Cemetery."
Georgia Elaine Scott, born January 14, 1915 in Chicago, name Molneaux in 1836, and as Warner in November 1970, died February 22, 2002.

Flora Evelyn Molyneux, 22, born at Waterloo, Iowa to
Watson Molyneux and Mary Dagney, married Fred W. Harris, 28, born at Battle Creek, Michigan, on October 20, 1892 in Sioux Iowa.
Florence Molyneux and Fred W. Harris had
Dorothy Janine Saunders on August 22, 1898 in Day,
South Dakota. She died February 23, 1953 in Tampa, Florida.
Fred and Florence are in South Dakota in 1894, and in 1910 are in Gary, Indiana.
Dorothy is 11, Lucille 9.
In 1920 Gary, Indiana, Florence Harris is 45, born in Iowa, with daughter Lucille 18 born in IIllinois.
Florence Harris died December 18, 1952 and is buried in Colma, San Mateo County, California per # 87832080.
GENEVIEVE
"The Elwood Call-Leader, Madison County, Indiana, p. 1, Saturday, February 16, 1935
Herman Benedict, 54, former Elwood resident, died last night at a hospital in Flint, Mich., of a complication of ailments.
He resided here several years and was employed at the Elwood American Works of the American Sheet and Tin Plate Company. Fifteen years ago be moved to Gary and worked in tbe mill there. About two years ago be went to Flint.
Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Genevieve Benedict, are his mother. Mrs. Cynthia Benedict, of Elwood, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Stoner, of Elwood.
Relatives have not received definite information regarding the funeral arrangements."
Genevive Benedict and Henry I. Frida married in Lake County, Indiana on May 13, 1937.
They're in North Bend, Starke County, Indiana in 1940, both 62, and both were in Flint, Michigan in 1935.
One tree says she's the Jennie Molyneux 1874-1959 buried in Elkhart County, Indiana # 91559415.
The informant on her death certificate was Mrs. Ivan P. Miller of Nappanee, Indiana, a niece.

James Woodside's infant daughter died in Sioux County in October 1894.

Mary's brother William R. McCray also claimed land in 8S 43W.
